  1. Yeah I'll rip the headunit out in the morning and have a gander (just read Northy and Azza's tutorials, which are awesome, cos my mates dad did it today). We soldered the connections then taped over :/
  2. My 2003 Corolla had Alpine Type R components infront and the right speaker used to always phase in and out. Most of the time it worked but yeah sometimes it just crackled. I uninstalled and replaced with the original speakers and headunit today, that right speaker does not work at all. This surely must be a wiring problem? How would you go about fixing this? I would really appreciate some help! Thanks guys.
  3. I've got a single-din Alpine CDA-9831 in my corolla. The spacers that the audio store used look like crap, seriously. I'll take some pics tomorrow..
  4. Thanks everyone for your replies, I will most likely end up getting some sound deadening. Yeah, is there any sane way to tighten the windscreen wiper? Maybe if I take te trim off from the inside of the hatch...?
  5. Whenever I use my sub (12" Alpine Type-S) these days, there is a rattling noise heard outside at the back. I took the number plate off and there's still a rattle.. Does anyone know of a fix? The system sounds mean inside but I look foolish from the outside. Cheers.
  6. Headunit - Alpine CDA-9831 Components - Alpine SPR-176A (for front) 6" - Soundstream somethings(for rear) Amp - Alpine MRV-F340 12" Sub - Alpine SWS-1241 Goes pretty well, dunno what the dB rating is though. What bracket did you guys use for the headunit? The supposedly best car audio company in NZ did my install (had a shthouse experience with them) and the bracket doesnt look clean at all. I'll try get a picture up.
  7. Im thinking of getting a pod filter for my 1zzfe powered 2003 Corolla. All the dudes out here in New Zealand just get a pod filter and have some custom piping done, not really much of this bolt-on stuff. And it turns out cheaper. Which would be a better option, I buy a K&N pod filter and get the workshop to make a custom box and everything for it, or to buy a "bolt-on"? Performance and price advantages would be appreciated.
