  1. My location is not a problem... there is a post office anywhere... :-) Seriously, I've a friend lives in Melbourne that can help... Do you've the right one with the right part number?
  2. Hi guys, I own a 1992 Celica (ST182) and I got for it a fully restored 3S-GTE engine removed from ST185 (in Japan). The problem is that I cannot find anywhere a MAF sensor for it. My ST182 doesn't have one (because the old engine is 3S-GE). Everywhere I look, I see the older part-numbers or newer ones. Buying brand new one will cost me more then 700USD (special order from Japan)... The part number of the one I need according to EPC/Microcat is 22250-74260. The engine is the pretty rare models that originally came with liquid based intercooler. Can someone help me find one... Does someone know for sure what others can fit there too? Thank you all in advance...
  3. Thank you all for the answers... It is a bit tough with the law here... and when the law allow you to do something, the tax on it will be such that it wont be fun anymore... :( For importing a complete engine there is 40% tax and on all of it I need to add 15.5% VAT... this means that the price jumps by more then 60%... I thought about the engine from the ST202 because it is already here and I can get it for reasonable price... Anyway, calculating all together make me think that I'll take "DFECTED" advice and just overhaul (with or without the upgrade) the existing engine... The question now is to upgrade or not to upgrade... If I'll decide to upgrade, it means that I need to start collecting all the needed parts from around the world, because we don't have TRD distributor here... From the other side, I can just order a full overhaul kit from the local Toyota distributor here. And to be honest, I'm not sure I know all the parts I need for overhaul and ordering parts from abroad only when needed will cause the project to be endless... Anyone have a full list of all part needed for a full overhaul? And what parts I can replace to upgrade the current engine?
  4. Hi everyone, As I mentioned in my introducing post (see signature for the link), my engine is 3S-GE and it's tired... I considering my next steps (swap to same, swap to different one or overhaul for the existing one) and I've a few questions. I'll appreciate any answer and/or redirection... 1. How can I distinguish between the different revisions of the 3S-GE engines (from looking on them, I don't have any other details on them)? I'm assuming mine is 2nd rev. because it's from ST182 from 1992... but it is only an assumption... Also, I assume the that one engine that I saw for sale (imported from Japan) is 3rd rev. because it is from ST202 (have no idea from what year). 2. Continuing with those assumptions (that my engine is rev. 2 and I've the option to get the rev. 3 one (and gain 30HP))... Do I need to change also the ECU (and cable) or I can fit him on the same ECU I've? Thanks in advance. btw, don't send me to swap to 3S-GTE because I cannot do it with in the law here... :-( so I need to be satisfied with the extra 30HP between rev. 2 to 3...
  5. Hi everyone... Although that I read here from time to time I didn't signup, so finally I decided to do so (and also because I'll probably need your help... :-S ). So first I'll introduce my self, my name is Aviv and in the last 6 months I own a 5th generation Celica... The Celica is one of my dreams that finally come true after 16 years of dreaming... My story with the Celica start back then at 1992 when I was 17 years old... On my way to issue my driving license I've noticed a brand-new shining red car parking close-by... I didn't recognize it on first sight, it took me few seconds to identify it as one of the first Celicas imported to my country (Israel)... Since that day, I promise to myself that some day (when I'll have the enough money and so) I'll have one like this... Unfortunately, they imported the Celica to my country for a very short period of time, from late 1991 till mid 1994 (all 5th generation of course). A year ago, I've finally decided to follow my dream, it took me about 6 months to read, learn and find one in reasonable condition... After I bought it, I've started to fix and improve it (as much as I can do inside the law and the law here is very limiting)... I've repainted it with a new color that doesn't exist for Celica (I took the orange-pearl color code from Lamborghini)... Fix all the plastic parts to work like new (switches, AC parts, etc.)... Painted all the interior too to get a 2 color trim (black and off-white) instead of the original grey trim... Replaced all the fabrics inside and replace the front seats with 2 with "sport look alike" ones... New rims and tires (Good-Year F1 GSD3 215/40R17).... The engine and the gear box are tired but still alive and kicking, even tho' they run for more than 190,000Km... This model (and this is the only model exist in my country) is ST182 (Liftback, 3SGE engine, grey trim, less luxury possible (no air-bag, etc.)). And finally some photos (some more available on my gallery)...
