  1. good on you skitzo (even though we may not have agreeded on issues in the past) i am with you on this one. it's great to hear that you love what you have and yes it probably looks just like a sportivo anyway so that's the first part out of the way. the next is power obviously. the mods you have listed sound good and the s/c will provide an abundance of that sweet low range torque..mmmm...torque. You will definately jump a sportivo off the line any day of the week but staying in front well that's where the 2zz comes into play anyways good luck with it all!
  2. There's the 2JZ HKS Drag Toyota Supra in Japan that puts out an est 1103kw! and is good for low sevens. There is also the Jun Supra which retains the 2JZ-GTE block with a Jun stroker kit. max torque is 1078Nm @ 5700rpm! Both the 3S-GTE and 2JZ engines have massive scope for potential.
  3. so danz what setup you running...dunno it's obviously me but i just find that with what i am running now (45 with low kings) seems harsh when driving over uneven road surfaces, especially gaps in the road.. oh man it crashes through them :( so what will you do for a spare?
  4. does anyone have their factory sportivo rims for sale at the moment or near future?
  5. Sorry but i cannot believe you guys think that the ride is comfortable with king springs and 40 profile rubber- have you been along parra rd or hume hwy yet? the weight of the sportivo rim with tyre is 18kg so anything lighter will help un-sprung weight.
  6. 17's + lowered springs = rubbing i should know! how's the ride tj bet you it's pretty rough..that's why i am going back to 16's and factory springs..sick of the rough ride, rubbing, bottoming out..and the warranty aspect as well.
  7. oh no, you are not serious about the honda hybrid i have seen one on the road and there dam ugly...sorry
  8. hey influx how much did you pay for the de-carb of the injectors?done about 20000 so looking to do it :)
  9. these honda guys are all talk no action <_<
  10. i'm sorry but i have no patience :( and you can't help but be exicited bout all this :) i hope it's the ecu otherwise might have to put the factory box back in. so peekay what's going to happen with your car
  11. you've made my day with that quote
  12. off the topic i know but Toyota will void the warranty on any modification to the car -simple as that.
  13. You don't see any point in fitting coilovers I don't get it. With coilovers you will have approx 110mm or 4 inches to play with. Through the week have it moderately low, on weekends drop it the full four inches. Coilovers are designed to be lowered to the max - better quality ride as well. If you want go-kart handling go coilovers. A spring and shock package will never outhandle a car with coilovers. Tyres of course play a massive part in the handling of a car. Like they say, a quality small tyre will always outhandle a larger cheaper tyre. For the money you are going to spend on koni's and springs it will probably work out cheaper buying say Hotbits or Tein coilovers. Don't think that the koni sports will fit in easy either- they have to be modified a fair bit to fit into the factory struts. If you want honest no bull#$%@ advice speak to Louie at Straightalk Suspension..that is if you are in Sydney?
  14. just get a CAI anyways this is pretty serious. These problems..do they relate to the ****ey gearbox? I have had problems with it from day one and willingly abuse it so hopefully it craps itself so i get a new one. having owned my sportivo for over a year now i have found it to be very temperamental...just like a women hey.
  15. does anyone know what the exact problems are and would they issue a recall of our sportivo's
  16. hey pecks, i have two new black with red stiching axs throw ons you could buy? i bought them for the old man's car but now he has a comp car so no use for them.
  17. mate the exhaust tip is going to make all the difference....probably 5-10 atw kilowatts easy
  18. Booster Tuning Bodykits Love that mid mounted spoiler and the masks over the tail lights..mmmm...does anyone know of places that sell and/or install this type of bodykit? and please do not say Penrith Toyota as i know they do and would charge an absolute fortune for it.
  19. hey sportiv would you be interested in a set of 'low' king springs? might have some on offer. 'superlows' are purely for aesthetic value only. they are not intended for road use- but of course are lot of people do have them on their cars with an aftermarket damper/shock and are happy. 30-35mm drop as voiced by many suspension experts (whiteline,straighttalk,k/mac) is the most functional and best overall improvement for handling for the sportivo. if you put or have 17's with low profile rubber and superlow kings i gaurantee you will find the ride comfort 'very unpleasant' over rough roads. Also you will void your suspension warranty and have insurance issues. Man trust me been there done that.
  20. this is part of what the letter said about the 'customer satisfaction exercise': During the assembly process for your vechile, the steering column intermediate shaft may have been aligned in a position which may cause contact with the lower steering column cover resulting in a slight knocking noise while operating the steering had mine checked out last service-nothing wrong. pre june 03 build.
  21. I have 'low' kings over stock struts with 17'' 45 profile tyres. The ride is firm and slightly uncomfortable over rough roads like parra rd. Thats just me. Man i have just come off coilovers so any thing is better than them! Probably changing back to 16's wit the 55 profile.
  22. aftermarket parts are available if you are serious in building n/a horsepower. check it out monkey wrench racing would'nt mind these guys being around the corner :) Don't know if they deliver to Aus.
