No problems. 5 of us (all adults) drove from Toowoomba to Port Douglas a couple of weeks ago. And packed the luggage so we had clear visiblility out the back window. Again, no problems.

Personally, I don't think you can go past an MR2. I have a 90 model Aussie delivered N/A targa top and absolutely love it. But would say that if you can find a hardtop then go for it. Luckily for me, my husband is a mechanic so no problems, but may I suggest www.mr2.org.au for info on Perth mechanics and any other advice you may need. Cheers.

Sorry. I misread the thread and didn't realise you have a spyder. Most of the problems are with the targa tops and windows. I've had a good, hard look but can't locate the thread I mentioned. :(

Thanks Jacki. No, I haven't got a quote from them yet as I am looking at other companies. And from what I have seen $400 is quite cheap. I assume this would not be the full sheepskin, but sheepskin with an acrylic skirt and back. The last set of sheepskin seatcovers I bought have acrylic skirts and backs and I bought them from Wooly Fleece 11 years ago for $750 (front and rear). They are still wearing well but the acrylic has gone a funny colour. I have decided that this time I am buying seatcovers with full sheepskin...... Which is why I am saving. I have 5 vehicles all insured with the same company and whenever I add a new one to the policy, I am asked about modifications so that they know about them and will also cover them if there is an accident. If I make a change to a vehicle, I always contact them to let them know about it. Honest is still the best policy. If you are not doing something illegal, then you have no worries... :D

I recently bought an 8 month old Rav4 and it has been treated with all the paint and fabric protection stuff, therefore I was provided with Ming car shampoo etc when I got the car. I am not sure whether it is safe to use other more commercial stuff when I wash it or whether to wax or not. Can anyone offer any information so that I don't inadvertently damage the paint work. I have found that Shower Power safely removes everything from sticky goo to Blu Tack. I used it to remove gunk left over after peeling sticker off my car. Patch test in small inconspicuous area first though, just to be sure.

I've had my 2007 Rav Cruiser, auto for a month now and on city driving alone with trips up and down the Toowoomba range each time, I got 11.73ltrs/100km out of my first tank. I've seen a couple of genuine deluxe nudge bars on eBay and side steps also. I believe the nudge bar has to be air bag compatible so may be good idea to get genuine. When I can afford it I want to add a tow bar, sheepskin seatcovers and some cool decals. ;)

A new one was out of the question, so I picked up a 2007 model Cruiser, auto, pearl white, with only 8000km's for $34,000 - private sale. About $10,000 less than it would have been new 8 months ago. It is fitted with deluxe nudge bar, side steps, bonnet protector and shuRoo and has had the 5 way tint, paint, fabric and electroic rust proofing. Extras worth about $3000 all up. Still looks brand new. I think second hand is the way to go as there are heaps for sale on carsales.com.au Lots of choices for model, year, colour, extras and in every state.

Hmmmm. Got to think about this one as there have been so many in my family. Personally, I had a 1988 Camry CS Wagon - white, auto. Unfortunately it was a lemon and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. Unusual for Toyota. Now I have a 1990 SW20 MR2 Coupe- white, manual, Aussie delivered, naturally aspirated, , targa top. Immaculate condition and I love it. Only a month ago I also acquired an 8 month old 2007 Rav4 Cruiser Wagon- pearl white, auto, lots of extras. Am in Toyota heaven...... I also have my name on my Daughters rego for her 2000 Corolla Conquest Sedan - silver, manual. Great first car. Until it was written off 2 months ago, I was also on the rego for my Sons 1987 Corolla Seca Hatchback - white, manual. Also a great first car. My Husband has a 1988 AW11 MR2 coupe - white, manual, supercharged, hard top. My Grandmother had a Corolla Wagon. 1977 I think. Was still going great after 20 years. Mum had a Corolla sedan in the mid 70's and then got a Corolla wagon, then a Cressida sedan, then a Rav4 5 door wagon in the early 80's, and now has a Yaris. My Dad had a Landcruiser utility in the 70's. My Sister has a 2006 Rav4 Cruiser - pearl white, manual. I would recommend Toyotas to anyone and last year talked a friend out of buying a Nissan Patrol, and into buying a Toyota Kluger 7 seater. She is ever so grateful. I also saved her $7000.

I have had my 2007 Rav4 Cruiser for only 2 weeks now. It is an auto and I have only made trips to town including a steep climb of 4km each time (no highway work). So my first recording is 11.73ltrs/100km which I think is pretty good. Can't wait to stretch my babys legs on the weekend and see what she does on highway cycle. Does anyone else have a reading for the new model????

Enjoy the ride. Mine has a leak on the passengers side so I try to leave the glass out occasionally and to apply some sort of preservative to the rubber like Armour All.
