  1. The Aurion uses the 8713906050 Genuine Toyota Cabin Air Filter, as far as I can tell the dimensions are Height : 30 mm Length : 212 mm Width : 193 mm Several USA Camry, Scion and Lexus Cabin Air Filters, and various Ebay listed aftermarket copies are much cheaper, even with delivery to Australia. The genuine USA part numbers seem to be different to the Australian numbers, otherwise they may be the same? The only non-genuine cabin filters I know of in Australia are Ryco from SCA etc', the price of the Rycos isn't much better than the Toyota genuine price. Does anyone have any experience with cheaper alternatives?
  2. Very nice mod. Garage floor looks good too - is it terrazzo or paint on finish?
  3. Good luck with noise resolution. Slightly OT, but thought this pic (seen on Ebay) of 2GRFE engine may be of interest; good view of the VVT oil delivery pipe mentioned in the forum some months ago.
  4. Sorry to hear you have unresolved issues. I'm not sure if it applies in your case, but sometimes the roads and environments we use our cars in can result in minor and annoying problems. For me, the Aurion has been a very good car. Considering price, performance and running costs I don't think I could do better; maybe I've been lucky, but on the whole it seems that the vast majority in this forum have had a good run with their cars as well. Another bonus is the wealth of info' regarding the Aurion / U.S. Camry available on sites like this one. Hope you get some satisfaction soon.
  5. I've said it before, but it will be quicker for me to type it again. The 'mute' connection is for when you have an external accessory that would output a 'mute' signal. About the only accessory I can think of that has this feature is a car kit (like a Nokia kit or something like that). It means that when you get a call, the stereo can automatically mute so you can hear your call. BTW, how long did the Autome305 unit take to get to you? I guess I'm going to have to get one of these soon. Thanks DJKOR, I'll install the HU & camera as soon as I have a spare day. (Same barrel type cam' as yours) Delivery from Autome305 took ten days. Your comprehensive HU & Reversing cam' info along with that of others in the TOC Forum are a great resource. Well done!
  6. Iv'e just received my SD-6009 HU with Dig TV (Latest Autome305 unit) It has the previously discussed: Pink - Reverse, Blue/white - External amplifier and Red/Green - Night illumination wires in the supplied short loom. Also has a Brown wire labeled "Mute". Anyone know its function and connection point?
  7. Welcome to ownership of what should be a great car for you. You'll get used to the white paint, it's cooler in the hot Aussie sun and is statistically one of the safest colours to drive. Several research papers have conducted visibility tests and retrospective analysis of the car paint colour of crashed cars.
  8. Thanks DJ' I checked the level every two to three days. Your reply seems logical and the level has remained constant since my original coolant post. TA
  9. My 18 month old Aurion's coolant has always been at about the half way level on the reservoir container, until a week ago when I found it to be almost empty (obviously not low enough to show a warning lamp on the instrument panel). My thorough search around the engine and radiator with a torch failed to locate any obvious leaks. I topped it up and have since driven 1,700km incident free (in hot weather) with no further evidence of coolant loss; during this time the car has operated perfectly with the engine Temp' gauge sitting at the normal point, just below the symbol. Any idea as to why the regularly checked coolant was low on only one occasion?
  10. Just wondering if anyone has sheepskin seat covers in their Aurion. I'm interested in sheepskin seat covers for front & rear. Any Ideas?
  11. Almost traveled 10,000km. Last fill 57.2 L after 695km = 8.23L/100km and potentially 850km on one 70L tankful. (Although Aurion computer told me I had zero km to travel when I filled and I can't see any need to attempt using more than 50 to 60 L before filling). 500 of the 695km was fully loaded with two adults and two teenagers and requisite luggage, remainder with driver only. Also of note is that the on-board computer calculated 7.6L/100km average for tank, as I drove into the servo'.
  12. Just a small point re the parking sensor switch. My wife drove my Aurion and inadvertently switched the sensors off; I rely on the sensors when reversing in the garage and almost hit the wall because they were off, now I always look to see if the green light above the sensor switch is on when about to trust the sensors.
  13. Total of 7,600 km in Touring Series Aurion. Filled 57.56 litres standard unleaded yesterday, 668km (mostly highway travel), therefore 8.616 L/100km.
  14. bit off topic, but QLD people with fog / driving lights info here http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/...or_Vehicles.pdf i always thought it was illegal to drive with them on in suburban areas, apparently not.... ============ According to the Transport.Qld site your right, it is not illegal to use fog lamps in built up areas in Queensland, so long as the following conditions are met Fog lamps must not be used except in fog or mist or under other atmospheric conditions which restrict visibility. Some Aurions come equipped with low level lamps, as you probably know, these are fog and not spot lights in which case it seems they would only be used infrequently. Personally I find low and high beam lights on the Aurion to be very adequate, I have only used the fog lights once for a short duration. It is a pain in the butt when oncoming drivers have their fog or spot lights turned on. In Victoria, police have been instructed to issue an on-the-spot $175 fine if no fog or similar atmospheric condition isn't present when drivers have fog lights activated.
  15. Hi Tekkyy, not sure of the mechanical nitty-gritty, from my experience 100km/h definitely uses more fuel than 80km/h. Hope this helps.
  16. Have now done 3,000 km in Touring Series Aurion - mostly highway travel achieving 7.6 to 8.5 l/100 km last couple of tanks. City driving has seen consumption of about 9.5 to 11.5 l/100 km. (On one occasion when stuck in snail pace traffic jam for 70 minutes, the display showed 15.5 l/100 km for a fair length of time, at several points I turned the engine off for 5 or 6 min). All readings are from the display - I will manually calculate consumption one of these days. Most of of my highway travel is at 10 to 15 km/h below the posted limit, this only adds about 10 minutes or so to a 150km trip, I figure this saves a couple of lites of fuel and increases the life of the engine and other mechanical parts; even the environment benefits in a small way.
  17. Touring SE running in -- traveled 1,000 km - so far 10.5 l/100km City & 7.5 to 8.3 Highway (According to instrument panel display). This is with slight pulling to Left since brand new. If wheel alignment corrected and engine run in it should improve slightly.
  18. Does the outside temp' still work properly on the instrument panel display? I have read of loss of the temp' readout after the installation of some DVD/NAV units.
