  1. Can't say I have. Worst problem I've had is the Bluetooth hands free is pretty crusty.
  2. Thanks DJKOR. Not worth messing about with it if tie's in with the SRS module. Might inquire at next service re: intelligent tester, knowing my luck I will fail the tesr ;)
  3. Howdy, I'm just curious if anyone knows how to turn off or disconnect the seat belt warning system/alarm? I know it's a safety feature but they seemed to find a way around the traction control thingy.
  4. I may need to be corrected on this but another handy use of the shift lock as I found with my old Prado is that even with the engine started and your foot on the brake pedal it still won't shift out of park if your tail lights have blown be it globes or a fuse so it's another indicator that you could be cruising around with no brake lights. As I said, i don't know if this is applicable to the Aurion but the Prado has the same shift lock...
  5. 1950 Ford Mercury Monterey http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3432/50...montereyqh3.jpg http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/483/50m...reycobrafh6.jpg But if I had my choice; http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/5360/68...echargered8.jpg http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/7167/68...charger1pc2.jpg Anyway, to stay 'on' topic, I think it would look pretty slick without the spoiler. And the colour you have chosen would be sweet but remember to get the spoiler painted the same colour as the car just incase you want it back on.
  6. Hmmm, thanks peeps. I left the car outside yesterday so hopfully it buggered off, best I check under my seats, in the glove box and under the sun visor eh?!?! Gotta take my son to childcare this morning to so I better check his car seat to... I'll think again about parking hard up against bushes in car parks.
  7. Howdy y'all, happy Australia Day and stuff. Cruising back from shops today and noticed this little grass snake coming from the grill, it slithered up the bonnet and decided to rest in the wiper well area. As i tried to pick it up it slithered through an opening into the front quarter panel. Is it possible the snake could make it's way in to the interior of the car from inside the front quarter (passenger side) or is sealed too tight for this to occur? http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/702/26012009106fl5.jpg http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1669/26012009107fn7.jpg
  8. Um.... no. ;) Added the 'wink' as my disclaimer.
  9. That's alright I should have made myself clearer. I have the advantage service thing but as an extra (not linked to the advantage servicing) they show your/my car being serviced. Grand Motors Southport have a full cafe upstairs in the new car showroom area to, nothing to write home about, just on a forum...
  10. I've got that advantage servicing stuff and whilst you are waiting in the lounge area they have a TV screen and you can watch your car getting serviced. Fancy eh... Well worth it if you can re-negotiate.
  11. Five finger discount it from a car yard, they will replace it when they sell the car.
  12. Weird, mine would have cost the $120 max (for the basic service) if i didn't opt for the additional work, it even shows up on my invoice that way...
  13. he said thanks man :) this one was not his work but i love it anyway That's a belter, no crusty spoiler like on the Frauds. Go AWD, bang another Supercharger on it and they're back in the game.
  14. Got mine serviced today and asked the rep why they request it every 7,500 km's when it says 15,000 km's in the book. He said it's for preventative scheduled maintenance. The cost of this to me is capped at $120.00 unless you ask for injector servicing etc etc then the price adds up, like today where $388.95 (inc wheel rotation and alignment + various other things) later i rolled out. If the oil etc is going to cost me $50 - $60 bucks and it's capped at $120 then I don't care especially when I don't pay for it.
  15. I had a service today (22,500 km). I mentioned the exact thing to the rep at Toyota (Gold Coast) and he said that they will do an 'Anti-Bacterial treatment on Air Conditioning' shown on the invoice under the desciption as 'Healthizone Bactigas' which has worked wonders all for a price ofcourse, the stench coming through the vents has completely disappeared with just the fan going so that maybe something to look at. On another note, i upgraded the stereo at time of purchase to a 6 stacker with Bluetooth hands free for the mobile phone. I mentioned that i have tried 3 phones using the bluetooth and people at the other end have all complained that the reception is breaking up. Once i disconnected from bluetooth the reception was perfect. He said there are noted faults and that it will be replaced within 1 week. I also mentioned that the superchargers seems to have disappeared, he said he'd look into it for me, heard nothing back.
  16. Weird quoting my own reply but there is a reason, I would have forked out some more coin if some of the above mentioned points were given as options but no, you get only a few of options in regards to factory upgrades (stereo/sunroof) the rest is soley reserved for the Presara. I would have forgone a start/stop button for something as simple as traction control on/off. Trust me, I'd still rather my Aurion than a Fraud or Commonwhore, and I can't afford Mercedes or stuff of that ilk but it annoys me when the new c/dore has traction on/off, digital speedo for which we pay bucket loads more and get no where near what these things have as standard in their base models. Anyone got some cheese to go with my whine? ;)
  17. For me (in no particular order): - Lack of control over suspension mode, say between sports mode to cruising mode to comfort mode; - Basic telemetry system; - Inferior sound system (no iPod dock etc); - RWD/AWD system would be better (even the crusty VRX Magna came out with it, pity the car looked more like a Sigma); - Foot Brake system; - Rattles in car; - No VSC on/off switch; - Bad sports mode; - No eject seat for those sticky situations on rainy days; - Price tag associated with the above mentioned problems/inferiorities;
  18. Nice one gents, photo shopped these using paint.NET
  19. Looks okay. I see what you say about how it could be flatter but IMO i think it would need to stretch out in line with rear quarters.
  20. Taking it off is the best way to protect it from rusting as it will continue to rust even after you have cleaned it, see below (courtesy of The Rust Store) What is rust? Rust is the common term for corroded steel or iron. The reddish oxide produced is caused by oxygen and moisture. What causes rust? Rust is caused by exposed metal coming into contact with oxygen and moisture. Do metals other than steel and iron rust? No, only iron and steel will rust. However, other metals such as aluminum or zinc will corrode. How can I prevent rust from forming? The most practical method for preventing rust is to keep your iron or steel away from oxygen or moisture. This is often achieved by painting the surface or by applying a rust preventative coating.
  21. I don't know how to take this question, serious or not? Take the towball off when not in use, all you need is a large shifter.
  22. I agree, i know that people negate the height of larger radius wheels by using lower profile tyres but my opinion it would look out of proportion to the over all dimensions of the vehicle unless...you throw some 21's on, tub and flare the wells and guards and put a slight negative camber on then you could have a looker...if it can be done and if it is legal...
  23. Probably something the techs at Toyota would have to do i reckon...
