  1. Man, dont waste your time, i mean if you gona go all the way get a CAI. Shortram intake will suck more air, but it will be warm engine air. If you dont already know, colder air is more compressed, therefore when it hits the combustion chamber it will give the car more power as there is more air. Ever driven an ordinary saloon, you can feel it's got more ballz on a cool night, coz the air is thicker(compressed). But hey, it's your choice dude :D

  2. The stivo is made is SA as Peeks said, thats why toyota can afford to price them soo cheaply due to the foreign exchange rate, etc, and why Holden have to charge 40+ for a Turbo Astra since they are a German made opel, and the currency exchange is not as good with the euro. It's why the stivo was gona be a hit from the start, because at the end of the day 10 grand in your pocket is alot and performance differences between the hot hatches isnt that much, i mean were talking 1-2 secs at most, surely that cant justify 10 grand. Take Note Illuminati.

  3. OK, ive stopped using optimax after my 3rd tank. It made the car weak, and i had problems shifting in high rpm and low rpm, i mean it was hard. I used up that tank, i nearly went to toyota to throw the keys into their face. I filled up with Mobil synergy, and the car was soo much different, smooth, easy to shift, power back etc. Bad fuel puts more strain on engine components, increases vibration, harder to shift. Ive used Bp ultimate, its ok, but synergy 8000 is the fuel i always use, id rather ***** in the tank then use optimax. Thats my personal opinion, you guys use what you like, but anything under 98 octane, not for me.

  4. Youre looking at 40+ on road, way too much, only 4 bangers, youre getting into the xr6 territory with those prices, but thats up to you. About the gearbox? not everyone has problems. By the time you make up your mind, they might have a new model out :P :P just kidding.

  5. I hope you guys arent using Optimax ;) .Im pretty sure toyota wouldnt make a gearbox that cant handle those revs, just dealers that might have too many costumer complaints and cant handle them all. The only reason for hard shifting would be caused by vibrations at those high rpm, i'm not a mechanic but there is quite alot of stress and strain at those revs. Mine is fine just sometimes dodgy on the 2-3 shift, it sort of jolts back like a horse. It's definetly not a smooth gearbox, by any standards. Keep hastling them, these complaint will be eventually resolved, the car is under warranty. If redline is at 8200, then you should be able to change at those rpms in every gear. I feel for you guys, coz my box is pretty good, no hastles soo far. Keep Complaining, something will get done!!!

  6. I think they are a great little car, look really nice, i was planning to buy one but getting the staff discount from toyota was too much, besides i took one on a few weeks ago and got him by a couple of car lengths, topping out 4th. Nothing compares to lift :D even if it's a 2 liter

  7. When i went for my run, i had it in 4th, I hit lift and the car just tore holes into the horizon, my mate in the front seat couldnt believe this was just a 1.8 4 banga and it rocketed from that speed, i mean this car gets to 180 very quick, and it's just an awesome feeling when youre doing 140 then hit lift and you take off at that speed, simply awesome :D :D.

  8. I tried very hard this weekend but couldnt do it. I wanted to reach top speed, however i wasnt game enuff, the road was there weather was cool, perfect conditions. I had 2 passangers making up about 180kilos. I reached 210km/h in 5th at about 7400rpm. It felt good at that speed, i reackon i could easily get 220 out of 5th alone. And our car was meant to top out at 215. <_< , it really cained in 4th, and the needle just kept going, you can feel lift in 5th as well, not as much as 4th, but 5th feels good, dont even wana think about lift in 6th.

  9. Damn i cant remember the brand, its a well known brand it holds some backpressure as well about $300 bucks, he also mentioned that the settings with the unichip will not alter the reading of the original toyota CPU, so when toyota diagnoses the car, it wont show anything. The Unichip basically alters the fuel map settings.
