  1. I see the problem, steering wheel is on the wrong side! HAHA. p.s- whats the shift light for? As in a proper shift/gear change light or what?
  2. Don't mind the three doors either. Another vote for no chrome though!
  3. True Wil rolla. Thanks for the re-assurance and yeah, I might have to start 'improving' the old girl. p.s- my old man races an ae92 FXGT with a black top 20 valve at Barbagallos. It's got DMS suspension and wilwood front brakes so I do still like the more traditional performance corollas. Still sorting some little issues out but he's getting there. Our workshop hack is an 04 hatch on 17's too so we are a little biased towards them all really.
  4. Lots of sarcasm and obviously not a fan of Coilovers for the street. lol If you can handle the 'hectic' ride then why not I suppose. But remember the more stiff it is, the more stress is transferred to your cars chassis as well. Unless of course you drive on super nice road most of the time. Thats an excuse to add a cage to hold the old girl together! ;)
  5. just a basic but check that all your tyre pressures are the same. I know with any driveline related issue this is critical. I assume by the age of the car all your tyres are still original and the same wear amount?
  6. Each to there own I know but has to be japanese and I truly would prefer new or very close to it. The reason I ask is a bloke I work with pulled the ***** out of my corolla and I put it to him what else is there. The hot hatch is dead, 200sx's are dead. WRX's are OK I spose but would be the upper end of my budget. Not looking to do 11's, just something a little bit inspiring. Maybe I'm too much of a tight ***** but I would love to go and get something sporty but practical for up to 40k. Off topic I know but just pointing out IMO the hole in the market. Yes Sportivos are good but, I've seen the way you lot drive them so why would I want to buy a s/hand one? ;)
  7. To all the Sportivo lovers out there, if you were to buy a NEW car tomorrow what would it be? Like I've posted earlier, I will concede my car is a bit slow and boring but wanted new and was stuck for options. TypeR civic only a 2 door and little overpriced IMHO and apart from that there ain't much left. Maybe a WRX but not a big fan of Subaru and even more coin. Sorry if its too far off topic, just curious. We're a family of three and just wanted some cheap practicality with a little sporty look. Suggestions.........? And no MAJOR engine transplant mods aloud. I'm a mechanic with better things to do than fix cars. :D
  8. thats normal buddy thats just our engine driving the belt on your power steering pump,Its not really recommed to turn the wheel on the spot coz it put unessesary load on the rack & pump unit but sometimes we can't help it right Think you'll find they have electronic pumps on the rack now instead of an engine driven one.
  9. i think the levin get leather seats? i was given an ascent as a loan car on my last service.. hrm i know i didnt like that one :) maybe other model is different.. no to leather but like the shape of them, its all. Again, each to there own. Personally I just like my car and will probably buy another when the next shape is out. Just wish they kept the Sportivo theme going or even a TRD version. I do understand the good parts of a Sportivo, just not availabe new. :(
  10. do all the different specs have the same seats cause I actually quite like mine? Maybe base model has different seats?
  11. Personally own an 07 ZR and love the look, feel but style is a personnal thing. Will openly admit that Toyota NEED a decent engine back in the line up. I want to be able to buy a reasonably quick hatch with out needing to swap engines etc. Hint Hint to any Toyota head honchos reading this............... ;)
  12. Just a thoght but when my car is sitting still if I touch the steering wheel at all I can hear the power steering pump speed up. Thats a bit of a whine.
  13. 29, married with a 4 year old mini-me! Think I might just remove myself from this forum for being TOO old! :(
  14. Nice ride man! My second car 12 yrs ago was a white twin cam AE82. Man I had some fun in that car. Always wonder if it's still out there somewhere.
  15. New to the forum so I know this is an older thread but that is NICE! B)
