  1. 9K!!! woah, if its stock its 7200 or something along those lines i think! I cant help with the owners manual as i dont have a scanner, but i can tell you information if you know what you need! Cheers, Al
  2. Spotted a red 7th gen celica (with plates RED-772). His exhaust was SOOO loud, that i couldnt hear my stereo OR my own exhaust when he accelerated, and he didnt even really give it any. i was directly behind him tho lol. looked to be a straight through muffler haha! craziness!
  3. if its the S54 gearbox your talking about? (i dont know the camry gens and model numbers) but if its from a camry with a 5sfe it will bolt straight in. you will need to change the starter around to the opporsite side. i have the camry gearbox on bolted onto my gen1 3sge..
  4. Yeah, i think for me whether or not is true is beside the point. He obviously has great creative writing skills and to capture the attention of so many people of so many different forums is just amazing! Its a pretty good stunt if its not for real. Sounds like he writes the columns you read in those chix mags, where they are all raunchy hehe I really wonder if he will finish it, this could all be part of it! haha no-one will ever know either!
  5. baahahahaha, thats a pretty funny clip :)
  6. haha well, just post the dyno graph up when you get it ! How does it feel when the extra butterflies open up?? Mines running well atm, but i wish i had that extra 50+ hp that you have on tap! Whats the secret? lol I want to go for a drive in it to see what difference it makes having that extra power ;) ;) mmm damn ford lasers.... only good one is the TX3 turbo 4x4 one, but apparently they have weak g/boxes lol unlucky!
  7. That looks AWESOME!!! man i want to go to one of those days! At a toyota dealership and all :)
  8. haha a pink 5s, that wouldn't be so weird now i think about it haha Don't worry about the dyno mate. If you find it, you find it. If not its all good! I cannot BELIEVE they messed that up!! Why are they in the 'performance' business?!! I bet they mainly work on nissan engines or something...
  9. haha i can see it chewing through tyres now! what a machine of an n/a 1st gen! still cant get my head around those figures! have you stumbled across that dyno graph yet? :P
  10. i have never experienced supercharger goodness (yet) but i cant wait!! Thinking about a camry down the track... after im done with my celica :P Thanks heaps mate for the quotes. that was about the right price then! i would love a copy/links of the DIY for what ever you have and want to share! I will no doubt be needing them in the future :) sounds like you've 'been there, done that' a fair bit lol 25 mins, thats impressive!! and finally haha yeah, they are all genuine toyota parts.. thats the reasoning behind the higher price i guess! thanks heaps guys for the response! this seems to be a pretty active forum! lots of handy info and knowledgeable people!
  11. thanks guys! hes actually booked it in, ill tell him about the spark plugs and the springs too. they will prob chuck on a few hundred tho to install the springs (on top of the cost of the actual springs) just because they can.... nice looking camry you have there STYLSH!! supercharged is it? removing the mani isnt too but, but you need tiny hands and loads of patience on the 3s... had to replace the gaskets both sides on the t-vis plate... i wouldnt mind a camry, with the v6 engine in them they arent too shabby! good platform for a nice sleeper and very practical too! i'd end up going down the forced induction path tho i'd say :P my brothers thinking about the s/c option for sometime in the future!
  12. 840 is parts, then labour is something like 1200 :o :( I think he just booked it in, rego's due and he hasnt got any time off work anyway so it had to be done.... which is a shame as its going to cost him a lot! plus he needs 2 new tyres! he took it in to get an inspection and quotes at a toyota dealer and thats the only things they said he needed... they didnt even mention the front mount!! haha 10 mins for front, rest of the day for the rear.... sounds like fun.... almost as fun as removing a 3sge intake mani while the engines still in the car lol :P thanks for you help mate!
  13. Hello everyone! I actually own a st162 celica, but my brother owns a 98 Camry with the v6 (i dont know which engine it has, something like a 1mzfe or something along that line?) and he got some quotes for the following: "$840AUS is for the top engine mount only, 4 shockies, and 2 rocker cover gaskets…" We were just wondering if those prices are reasonable? And also, how hard is it to change all those parts. I havent had any experience working on these camry's. However i am semi-mechanical minded :) had plenty of experience working on my celica lol we have access to a hoist and tools etc... for the mounts. how hard is it to do the shocks and i cant see it being very hard changing the rocker cover seals (altho once again i havent had any experience on the camry's...) Any help would be very much appreciated girls and guys! Cheers! Alex
  14. a small update on the celica. it was making 130.1 hp@front treads and thats pretty high for a gen1 3sge. actually it seems really high. i dont have much technical data to prove this is correct but i do have other proof. One of Brogans (xr pilot from forums) mates owns a SSS pulsar and it had a few minor mods done and it was putting out 108 hp@ the front treads on the same dyno my celica was on (which is the same dyno brogans old celica was on and hit 123fwhp)... which is about what its meant to be putting out (usually between 105 and 110 fwhp) and matches other readings for the same car on different dynos. therefore i have no reason to believe its not a correct reading... i know its high for a gen1 3sge. here's a list of things done during the rebuild of my engine: It was put back on the dyno 2nite to see how it was running after the rebuild and tune it up, make sure it was running well and adjust the timing... on the first run the timing was retarded majorly and it ran about 116 fwhp. so we upped the timing to what its meant to be at and it was hitting about 125ish. then we advanced a little more and this was the result: note: i know the dates wrong, it was on the rollers only 2nite.... the red line was the previous from my first time on the dyno a few months back and the blue line was 2nites best run... its not much different at all (less than 2hp) but i just thought i'd chuck it up and show everyone.... MAX: 131.8 FWHP
