  1. I'm getting 10.8l/100km on mine on average. Resetting the trip computer after every refill, and only using 91 RON, BP only.
  2. Here's the details of the tint I got off this forum a while back 1) Windshield Colour Glass : Green Type : Laminated UV Cut Rate : 99 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 47.8 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 78.9 % (2) Sliding Roof Colour Glass : Gray Type : Tempered UV Cut Rate : 95.4 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 78.5 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 18.9 % (3) Front Door Colour Glass : Green Type : Tempered UV Cut Rate : 91.8 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 55.5 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 72.8 % (4) Rear Door Privacy Colour Glass : Privacy Type : Tempered UV Cut Rate : 96.8 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 82.2 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 20.8 % (5) Rear Quarter Privacy Colour Glass : Privacy Type : Tempered UV Cut Rate : 90.2 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 78.2 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 23.6 % (6) Back Door Privacy Colour Glass : Privacy Type : Tempered UV Cut Rate : 95.9 % Solar Heat Reduction Rate : 89.6 % Visible Light Transmission Rate: 11.1 % As you can see the rear doors have quite a bit of UV filtering, but not as much as the film. 3. Oh. And on the towbar. I'd recommend going to a 4wd towbar installer. I got a hayman reese fitted with a 9 pin plug fitted from a reputable 4wd installer for $455 to my 2008 grande. They did a great job, and cheaper than factory, and I would expect better than an auto retailer.
  4. Hi, I have quite a bit of experience at karting around bikes off a towbar, but one recommendation - do not get a cheap screw down metal top one from supercheap, autobahn etc... They are crap and not worth the time and money, for starters the fixed size of the metal top is useless with today's varied sized frame bikes, especially on kids bikes. Go for an 4 bike velcro strap and rubber protected bike rack. I've carted 2 adult and 2 kids bikes off the back of the towbar with a trailer as well with a bike on that. THe bikes don't move too much, but I tie mine together on the bits that may rub with strips of a old tshirt. Mine is a PACIFIC I.B.D made in tiawain and purchase from my local bike shop, did not go looking especially for a brand so it must be a common model. Good luck. Jolyon

    mudflaps

They look good. Better the the one's I'll picked up from ebay - and painted too!
  7. I saw these and was thinking of getting some as well. They look great @!!! Hard to install ????
  8. Hi Cralis, After 3 years in a 2008 Grande I'm happy with the purchase. I constantly get economry figures of 10.5 - 11 average over tankful after tankful with both the wife driving and myself over the weekend. Service costs for me were fixed for the 1st 60000 kms at $150 so I was very happy with that, even when I bought it 2nd hand at 8000kms. As for savings of a car swap, I would say there is not much way you can avoid taking some sort of a hit, unless you got the captiva for a steal. Cheers JB

    mudflaps

Hi Mario, Can you let us know if the read mudflaps fit OK. I ordered some highlander ones from ebay from the states and the rears did not fit at all. Different rear bar, and they were also a bit shorter. Cheers JB
  10. Hi, Yep I've had the Check VSC warning on my 2008 Grande, and was a failed oxy sensor. Toyota dealer reset the computer whilst waiting for the part on order to come in, and it did clear it for a day or so, but it came back. the failed oxy sensor in mine was definitely caused by dodgy fuel that I filled up down in the bellarine peninsular (100% certain of that). First time ever in 50000+ kms that I'd filled up at a no name brand servo and bought the cheapest fuel, and then traveled a good 100kms - and had the best fuel economy ever - running lean!!!. Very next morning the VSC error popped up. Cost ~380 to replace and it fixed the problem.
  11. I would actually not recommend changing the size of the tyre's on the trailer at all. What slight gains you make on matching the rolling diameter of the tyre's will be offset against the higher price of rubber itself. I'm no expert but I have towed quite a bit with my kluger for camping and the like with 5x3, 6x4 and camper trailers and none had more than 15" rims. Just make sure you put decent rubber on the trailer and carry a spare for it. Ensure Tyre pressures are even and appropriate for the load you are carting. Too low tyre pressures can generate a lot of heat in the rubber due to flexing and bouncing in trailers.

    Iphone Bluetooth

I've tried quite a few things to transfer the phone book but nothing has worked with my 3gs. The car kluger just sits there waiting to transfer but get's nothing.
  13. Hi Paul, Absolutely great write up. Thanks for taking the time make a post a worthwile read. Look forward to the tyre results as i'm nearly hitting 35K on my OEM's and will have to make a decision soon. Cheers. Jolyon

    A/C Odour

I've had bad odor issues last summer with AC. The smell was shocking, but have yet to notifiy the dealer. Thanks for the heads up.
  15. Hi, My old mans 75 series Landcrusier's front seat has seen better days and is in dire need of replacement. As a farmer he's in and out of it all the time and it's basically stuffed. Does anybody know of a toyota wrecker's who'd have a seat in the western side of Melbourne, or better still if anybody has one up for sale? Cheers Jolyon
