  1. Hey Daryl, Can't believe this happened to you yea - I can really feel your sorrow as I know how much you love your car and all the effort you've gone to with the mods/keeping it clean. Like V-FX said though - at least it wasn't life changing - you've still got all your limbs intact right... And I was just waiting for Thurs night to check out your grille as well... Hope this all gets sorted out soon

  3. AGE - 24 SEX - Male STATUS - Single REASONS FOR BUYING - Wanted a car that looked good, had power but wasn't a petrol guzzler, and comfortable to drive. Having driven a camry for the last few yrs - I considered getting the current model camry sportivo (which in my opinion does look better than the aurion sportivo). However - being Sri Lankan - it took just one night out to a family friend's dinner to decide to get the aurion (way too many Lankans/Indians out there with camrys). In the end - really happy with the aurion - prob the best parts for me include the ride comfort/quality and the economy when using it to travel from Brisbane to the G Coast for work... Oh and Toyotas proven reliability...
  4. Hey clementwcm, I agree with a lot of the comments already - in that it all depends on the look your going for. If you really want OEM-styling then there are other options on ebay as well for around $800 instead of the $3k factory one. If not - then you really have to do some research before buying one. I went for a tomtom yea - and loved it to begin with - the actual maps, user-interface, ease-of-use, portability between cars etc and would def recommend the tomtoms with text-to-speech (as in spoken street names) and bluetooth. However recently I've been having an issue when I run late, where I actually forget to bring my tomtom with me yea. Like sometimes you know how to get to the first place your heading to - but if plans change - and for some reason the gps isn't with you (another car/forgot it) you'll be needing to pull out your map which gets pretty annoying after a while. I'm considering getting a higher end GPS - like a pioneer AVIC - as they are decent head units, play dvds, have bluetooth as well as gps - and would look tidier in comparison to the tomtom.   5. Yea, I was surprised that correcting the alignment actually helped the fuel economy - but even a small amount can help now with petrol prices I guess. And I can now get 5 trips to and from the coast on one tank which was pushing it before...

Hi again, I agree with MRDAU that if you take a print out of your wheel alignment specs to a Toyota dealer - they will admit theres a problem cause its clearly there on the page that the castor and camber are the wrong way around. I was offered the camber bolts as well here in Brisbane - but I decided against it cause I could see that the castor was more of a problem, and that adjusting the camber to drive straight would be more of an over-compensation rather than fixing the problem, which would probably cause more tire wear on the inside of the left side wheels. The boys at Fulcrum do manage to get the camber the right way around when installing the offset bushes so I'd think about it before just having camber bolts installed... my 2c anyway. On another note - I have to admit that the computer read-out for my fuel economy has dropped since having the offset bushes installed - I used to average out at 7.3L/100km, but now it settles around 7.1 - I really only do highway driving though from Brisbane to the G. Coast for work - but I thought that was a nice unexpected outcome after correcting the castor.

  11. Hello everyone, I just wanted to say that I got the SPF2904K kit - superpro polyurethane bushes - installed by Fulcrum yesterday. Its just as everyone has been commenting on here that the main issue is the castor problem causing the pull to the left - but the guys at fulcrum not only fixed that but managed to get the cambers for the front wheels the right way around as well. I drove to the gold coast today and back (work) and things have improved markedly - the car seriously does drive straight - with whatever pull I observed more due to the road camber. I just thought that I should warn everyone though that some of the Fulcum workshops are seriously dodgy yea- like I rang up a couple of them getting quotes for the part/labour/front alignment and the one to steer clear of is YEERONGPILLY (fairfield rd)! They were saying it was about $400 for the labour! I don't know how retarded they thought I was but after ringing all the other Fulcrums it seemed the labour should be around $150. I got charged less than that and I would recommend the boys at BROWNS PLAINS (or Hillcrest...), they're a lot friendlier as well. Gd luck to everyone else sorting out their wheel alignment issues.

Since it seems like a few ppl are meeting up tomorrow though I'd like to come out to say hi and introduce myself yea. Hello all, Checking the recommended service intervals from the toyota website - http://www.toyota.com.au/parts-and-service...nance-intervals I believe that every 15k/12months (whichever comes first) is the usual interval for services as long as the vehicle is under "Normal Operating Conditions". The space in the logbook for the 7.5k/6month intervals is for those unlucky enough to be in the "Additional Maintenance Requirements" category from Toyota which are as follows- 1.Driving on rough, muddy or snow-melted roads. 2.Driving on dusty roads. 3.Towing trailers, caravans or boats, or using a car top carrier. 4.Repeated short trips (less than 8 km) in freezing conditions. 5.Extensive idling and or low speed driving for long distance such as taxis, couriers, etc. 6.Continuous high speed driving (80% or more at maximum vehicle speed) for over 2 hours. Most of those additional requirements seem pretty far-fetched so I think most of us are safe with 15k/12month services yea.

Hey everyone, I know that when you lower a car that the new springs have to be stiffer and all, but I wanted to know has everyone who's lowered their car been happy with the ride quality afterwards? Has anyone found that after lowering their ride became so uncomfortable they needed to go back to their original springs? The only reason I ask is the aurions ride quality is one of the most comfortable I've experienced - could only say the E-class merc is a whole lot better from what I've been in. cheers

Hey, well it wasn't too much of a hassle for my speakers as I got it done professionally. it wasn't really an issue because i don't have near enough knowledge to work on my car myself. it turned out great because i wanted a single DIN head unit which was custom mounted really well. the only real advise i can give about speaker installs is that make sure you measure the depth of whatever you buy because there isn't much room for the rear ones - i would have liked to have 6x9s all round, but i couldn't fit any pioneer ones without losing the stock covers. I have to admit though that it does sound really good with 6x9s upfront and 6s in the rear, with the sub - cause everyone that has been in my car has commented how good quality the sound is. i think there have been a few posts re-speaker installs in the forums though - just do a quick search and i think you'll get some pretty good advice looking forward to seeing the pics of your plate/car

  18. Hey eSexSix, I think you should post up a pic of your plate/car so we can tell... I've seen a couple of instances where the letters/numbers combination to spell out a word looks pretty decent yea - like the other day I saw sofie/sophie on a plate as "S0F4Y" and it registered instantly as the name... I think it works out a lot cheaper up in QLD if you do a 2number/3letter combo, or 3number/2letter - like $4-500 as opposed to $2300 - but the combinations I've tried for 'dharsh' haven't really done it for me - I'm prob just gonna have to save up for it - I doubt anyone would choose that plate so I'm pretty safe waiting I think.
  19. Hello all - this seems like a fairly important thread - if indeed the pull to the left can cause increased tyre wear/decreased fuel efficency as mentioned earlier. My 11/06 ZR6 originally had this pulling issue when I bought the car 2nd hand in Jan 08 (22,000Ks) - I got the dealer to do a wheel alignment and I don't think it did anything at all. However since I was happy with the car in every other respect I obviously still bought it. I continued to notice the pull as I drive between Brisbane and Gold Coast for work - however around the 26,000K mark as I noticed a lot of vibration through the steering column I got another alignment and all wheels balanced. This was done at Kmart which I honestly think made the vibration a bit worse. At my 30,000K service toyota balanced the front 2 wheels as part of the "Advantage" capped services - which I think made a huge difference in that I felt no vibration through the steering after that. I didn't mention the left pull issue as I had thought this was only a prob with my car - and I hadn't joined the TOCAu then. Since reading this thread - I organised a drive with toyota to address the pulling issue (today 34Ks) - and they admitted there was a prob - but wanted an alignment done first to clarify what was causing it. They did mention that if all the specs came up within factory limits they wouldn't do anything at all - and even after I mentioned the offset bushing kit from Fulcrum which someone here said Toyota was now offering under warranty - the boss of the service centre said I'd have to go off there to get it. Now sorry for the long post - but I have a couple of questions? 1 - Does anyone know for sure if toyota really offers the SPF2904K offset bushes under warranty? Secondly - from what I've read in this thread, it may be possible to adjust the pulling issue with either offset bushes or camber pin kits. Fulcrum quoted me $189.90 for the bushes, $220 for labour and $55 for an alignment ($464.90 Total), whereas Pedders are selling a 17mm camber pin kit for $125. I am hoping to eventually put new rims on so... 2 - To obtain the best setup for least tyre wear/better fuel efficency would it be best just to go with Fulcrum and the bushes, or get my rims and lower the car with front/rear camber kits, or get bushes and camber pins? Any help will be appreciated - as I have been racking my brains trying to figure out which would be best long term...

I've just moved here from Melbourne and wanted to know if - www.ppq.com.au - is really the only place to get them from? I was hoping to get 'DHARSH' in silver letters on a black background (what do ppl think about its suitability colour-wise?) - but the site quotes me a price of $2295. I had mates that had plates done in VIC for a lot cheaper - so could anyone please clarify this. Cheers

I have to admit I haven't checked out the Toyo's available in the 245/35/20 - but the Falken FK452s seem appealing atm yea - I can get them for $300 per tyre when they seem to retail around the $480 mark at Bobjanes or Jaxquickfit. How much were the Toyos?
  22. Hey I just wanted to know if anyone has 20" rims with 245/35/20 tyres on an Aurion yea. I hope to get some put on mine - but was hoping to clear a few issues first, namely: -How have ppl found the ride quality compared to the stock 215/55/17s - like is it a lot bumpier, or harder to drive? -Has anyone noticed a decrease in power or increase in fuel economy? -What sort of rubber have ppl wrapped around their rims and how long have they lasted? I only want some new rims for cosmetic reasons, and since moving up to Brisbane feel like without big chromes my ride lacks the attitude demonstrated by so many cars in the sunshine state. Any help will be appreciated, Cheers
