    Filling up

After 60,000kms I have never had it happen, I've had cars in the past that were a pain to fill but the Kluger seems fine.
  2. We couldn't be happier with our 08 Kluger grande, it has done everything I've asked of it very well and that's with 57,000km in two years. It tows my van, my boat, my tandem trailer, it drops the kids off and picks them up everyday and yesterday I took my daughter's netball team to training. It's a great family car. :)
  3. Always thought it be handy at tmes to be able to do it, interesting to know it is possible.
  4. One of the best ways I've found is not to be too slow off the mark, drive smoothly up to speed but not too slowly. If you take your time coming up to speed the gauge will show you in the 20 to 30 range for a long time giving you poor consumption. But hilly roads can be a killer, you really need to coast on the down hill sections. I get 12 around town and 9 or 10 on the open road.

    Ford forum

Found a ford forum talking about Klugers and how MUCH better the territory was, just had to laugh. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11253802 To start with, I quite like the territory, I have driven them many times and they have a lot going for them: looks good, tows well, is a nice size family car, a proven proformer, but........ IMO the kluger has: much better 4wd capablities (in the awd), more internal room, much more power (not counting the turbo), much better fuel eccon (especially counting the turbo), much, much, much better safty features, I think it tows better (IMO), is much faster (thanks rice racing), I consider its handling is better, better level of build and finish (but mines a grande) and to my mind is a better car to drive. These are the things that lead me to buy a Kluger over a Ford Territory. Oh, and they laughed about the Wheels driver who put a Kluger on its side and I'll say again; you drive poorly/badly this sort of thing will happen. He actually used the same method stunt drivers use for roll overs in movies. Just my two cents worth
  6. Safty, size, space inside, fuel ecc, features, price, ok off road - others in the mix were the CX9, territory, tribecca
  7. Mine seems to work fine, sound in the car is great and people are often surprised to find out that I'm hands free in a car. Sony ericsson 850ki.
  8. The Grande does not have seat memory or mirror either, with my dauthger now on her L plates we have three drivers and seat memory at least would be helpful. (Had mine over a year maybe they have it now??) Keyless is great, back door helpful at times (has a noisy beeping which makes sure you only use it when you need it.) Kids love the dvd, I tend to turn lights on before auto though, I find leather seats very comfortable, haven't used down hill assist, or snow buttons yet, When looking for a new car I wanted diesel as well, but the 3.5l is very poweful and really much beter than I expected on fuel.
  9. My rear sensors are overly sensitive, going off on speed humps etc, sometimes when there is nothing there at all. I've turned them to half volume so I can still hear them fine but rely more on the camera and my our eyes. Next service I'll try and get them adjusted, last time they reckoned they were fine (fobbed off). But what use are they fine you cannot trust them?
  10. Roll over? You put any car into a sideways slide at 100kms an hour through lush grass into the bitumen of an adjoining road and it will flip onto it's side. If the adjoining road had not been there the car would have simply come to a stop. The question is how it got there, driver error, a fault in the car or a car deliberate pushed beyond any reasonable limit. Having driven all the cars the this range I'd be more interested in side by side reviews. I've had mine 11 months, I have done over 30,000kms and it has done everything I've asked of it beautifully.
  11. I'm tall and never had a more comfortable seat or head rest/restraint. Since reading this thread I've taken more notice and still think it is great. I have never, ever driven a car with the head rest touching my head while driving, personally it seems strange to me but each to your own. I have a very bad back (both lower and upper) and find long trips much easier now in my Kluger.

    kluger vs mazda cx9

Before my Kluger Grande, my last few cars have been Mazdas, and I was quite taken by the CX9's looks but for me: Options on top Kluger were much better than CX9 (not a big reason but nice to have) Better feul economy. Much better 4wd capablities (cx9 is an awd town car only) Better power Better towing Better ground clearance/entry-exit clearance. Also looked at the Tribeca, a lovely car which IMO was: smaller, towing ablity not as good, fuel enconomy not as good and an even smaller 3rd row saets. Just my two cents worth.
  13. Yes, only when reversing the trailer/van/boat , also when you are reversing onto the towball. And it's not a gentle beep.... beep.....beep, it's screaming at you that your about to hit something, very distacting when backing into a tight spot.
  14. Just had my 20,000 km service and finally got around to asking about turning off the rear sensors while towing a van/trailer etc. Well, the guys at my dealer had no idea, but one guy got on the phone and the other on the computer. Answer was the no cut off as such, but the speaker itself has a high/low/OFF switch. So they were able to show me the panel in the back to take off and then you follow a wire up to the speaker and feel for the switch. A bit of a pain but I tow a bit and the beeping was driving me crazy, so the speaker is now on low (which is still very audible) and when I go out this afternoon to get some brickies sand I can turn it off. :)
  15. 2008 Grande. 11.5 to 12 around town. 9 to 10 open road. 14 to 16 towing a big campervan. 38psi and no really difference noted between 91 and 95.
