Hi, below is a link of a site i found that the general public can use the wreckers hotline, all you do is list what you are after, where you are and it goes australia wide and if a wreckers has the parts you want then the email you with cost plus freigth to your door. i have a disability and cant get out much so this is great. hope this helps a few of you out there. cheers http://www.autoparts.com.au/viewparts.asp
  2. I fitted a 12" sub with 900watt amp into the rear of my toyota surf today. it rocks now with a mix of clarion and kenwood speakers plus the sub. i'm sure the rear number plate is going to vibrate loose soon. bought a fusion amp and read instructions. once fitted the stereo sound turned off once i turned it up to 20. could'nt figure it out so changed all wiring to larger gauge wire. still no go. ended up going to auto store and buying a splitter for the rca cable. with the rca lead run through the splitter it all worked fine. am a newbie with anything electrical but got this fixed and can rock now. cheers all.
  3. Ok thanks for the posts guys. as i said, if the mods had of let me know first off that i couldn't do it then i would of understood. just a quick message saying something like "sorry mate, no can do until 50 posts" then that would have been civil whereas a big "mate..this is a warning... you cant post in the for sale section without a post count of 50 or more.. " which is like a red rag to a bull, then maybe you can understand where i am comeing from. I also believe that the mods on these forums do a fantastic job but in saying that they could be a little more tactfull. So now i have another question--- seeing as i can't list a for sale yet and i don't even try to offer advice on any other toyota that i haven't owned, is it permissible to list an Expression of interest for toyota corsa parts. this is because i haven't found anyone able to offer advice on these vehicles and there are obviously a few more of them out there that other people can't get answers for. Would this be breaking the rules as stated in the buy and sell section. As said, I apologise for any offence taken, but i am only trying to help someone who is in the same position i have been in with this damn Corsa. Hopefully someone with a bit of powercan answer my question and i thank yee all again for your input. cheers
  4. calling me a BOZO int getting you anywhere mate... rules are rules. you have 13 posts... and 5 of them are in the forsale section. we have rules here you abide by them or you leave... ok? you got a warning because after you listed it for the 5th time... and removed it... we thought you should hear from one of us. Ok? Well i am sorry BLIND KID SEEKS. I thought i must have been doing something wrong as my posts were being LOST. if i had of been contacted civily at the first instance then there wouldn't have been this missunderstanding. i do apologise but the longer this car sits in my yard it deteriorates and i thought some of your valued subscribers might be interested. and i only mentioned yopu being a bozzo because you put asterixes which obviously meant something slanderous. again i apologise and if offence has been taken then it was not intentional, just when you get a WARNING PM for something you didn't know you were doing wrong then i think that is a bit extreme. Cheers Mate.
  5. Hi all. I have been on tyhe toyota surf/ hilux forum for a while now and have found some great information for my surf. I also have a 93 corsa grey import and seeing as i can't find parts for it i listed it in the for sale section of this forum. Then some bozzo called BLIND KID who is a moderator has given me a warning that i cant post for sale because i havent listed 50 or more posts and he has since removed my listing. I am a private individual and not a business so if anyone can let me know if this is correct and discriminative or are some of the moderators getting abit ahead of themselves. I don't see this as being fair or australian and if you feel the same way PM me so we can work to see if we can get something equal and fair on this site. By what i have seen this is the only toyota forum that is so begrudgeing. Thanks all.
  6. g'day, I am trying to find out if any other vehicle is a clone of the toyota corsa import ( ie. VN Commodore and Toyota Lexcen, Nissan Pintara and Ford Corsair etc) as i am after parts and if i can't find originals then will have to go clone. Thanks in advance to all answers to this dilema. well its been a few days and no one can help me so i have decided to wreck this car. everything except for lft tail-light and both rear door handles are there. it has the twin overhead cam 16valve 1.5 liter motor in it with an auto box. all power windows work and everything is in good condition. i will be asking alot less than what wreckers want for parts and thats if you will ever be able to find parts for these grey imports again. pm me for pics of car or parts.
  7. Hi all. I have just aquired a 1993 toyota corsa sedan. everything seems ok except for it is not pumping fuel from the tank to the filter under bonnet and therefore not into the injector system. can anyone tell me if these have an in-tank electric pump and whether or not this is a common problem. I am also trying to find where i can get a workshop manual for it. anyones responses and advice is greatly appreciated as i do not know alot about these vehicles. Especially if there are any other known common probs with them. Thanks All. well its been a few days and no one can help me so i have decided to wreck this car. everything except for lft tail-light and both rear door handles are there. it has the twin overhead cam 16valve 1.5 liter motor in it with an auto box. all power windows work and everything is in good condition. i will be asking alot less than what wreckers want for parts and thats if you will ever be able to find parts for these grey imports again. pm me for pics of car or parts.
  8. g'day all. does anyone know the procedure for replacing pump distributor (head seal) seal on a 2.4lt 2L-TE EFI diesel pump. when the pump is out of the vehicle is it just a case of un-doing the four hex bolts and replacing seal. also can it be done installed in vehicle or does it mean a lot of mucking around. thanks in advance to all
  9. It is the efi with alloy body and steel dizzy block. it is leaking at the joint between the main body and the steel distributor block where the four injector pipes come out of. i understand there is a single rubber seal inside this joint between main body and dizzy. i have been phoning around this morning about used pumps and now i have to get a diagram of all the timing marks coz i was told if it isn't fitted dead on timing it can bend valves. the local diesel guys want $1000 to fit new seals to my pump. i don't have that kind of dollars and need vehicle asap.
  10. g'day, can anyone tell me if it is an easy job to replace rear seal (where injector pipes come out) on a 91 surf turbo diesel 2.4LT as mine is peeing out diesel when running. i think it is called the distributor seal. i have checked top seal and it is fine. talked to a diesel shop guy today and he said it is a tricky job if you don't know what you are doing but i am fairly mechanically minded and not sure if he was just saying it to get the work coz he said it will cost between 200 and 300 dollars to do. this is after he said the seal is $7.40. any help would be appreciated. cheers regards
