  1. Have got the same rattle on start up with my TRD, but it is not all the time. If I turn it off and restart straight away it wont do it, may be related to oil pressure.
  2. Had exactly the same thing happen to mine, had to wait 3 days for the part to come from Sydney, all fixed now but :)
  3. Have just taken mine in for its 30k service, had the dash rattle fixed which only started a couple of weeks ago. Had a vacum line or simmilar from the super charger split wich caused a few error lights to come on, so had to wait for the part to come from Sydney. Also getting serpentine belt replaced as it has started to make a noise, toyota know of this and replace it with a modified one, cost about $400 for the belt alone. Have not had any problems with the steering as yet. Also had a couple of air-con lines replaced but that was caused by shoddy work from toyota when the car was built. It might seem like a lot of problems but I dont think its been that bad for an Aussie built car. Mike
  4. mate, your full of it!!! i have increased peak KW by 20 At the wheels from Bolt ons. and this HAS been proven time and time again. get the RIGHT bolt ons, and you WILL make more power. VAREX mufflers are excellent, and i am so glad i have one. It doesnt drone, and is sufficiently loud or quiet whenever i want it to be. as far as mandrl bends being pointles... why would they make the system from mandrel bends stock then? Bolt ons only remove factory power losses, they don't make power. Stock systems are generally smaller than the ideal system, hence the use of mandrel bends. You'll also find that in a mass-production facility, they are generally as easy to do as press-bends. you make me laugh, remove factory losses?? c'mon man. you think car manufacturers, design exhaust systems to make less power??? seriously! economy is one thing but when you're after sales... well thats when facts and figures stack up. if you can get mandrel bends for the same price as press bent straight pipe, let me know,... i want in! Yes - not intentionally, but to save a couple of bucks they will. It's a well known fact, hence the reason people buy aftermarket extractors. Check out 1UZ-FE exhaust manifolds, then come back to this thread :) Actually 1UZ manifolds are made that way so they can fit in the respective engine bays they are going in, not to save on cost. But I see your point......
  5. My tires have done 16000 k's and all four are stuffed. Was told that a combination of hard accelaration and traction control really work the tires causing them to wear quicker. Hmm i dont know but i'll just buy some new ones. Would'nt mind seeing those mags on my silver TRD
  6. U kiddin...45,000? Brand new? Even the 2nd hand ones would cost a bit more to that. Shyt...How lucky were u...Gratz for that..That is seriously a vry good bargain.. Sorry I should have said it was the G.M. of the toyota dealears car and had 9000 km on the clock. Pretty close to brand new for me.

He said they had one out the back that was sold but he would show it to me, went and had a drool, but at over $60k it was a bit exspensive for me. Any way couldnt get the car out of my head so I called my little bro who was a sales rep for City toyota in perth some time back, and asked him to scout around for one for me. 2 days later he calls and says he,s found a TRD SL going cheap, so took the missus for a drive and stole it from them :) 45000 with sat-nav and sun roof. Absolutely one of the best cars I have ever owned, apart from my HQ Monaro :)
