  1. Black please tell me you bought it from a merc dealer! how many km's? Good car, acres of room, just don't do too many of those 0-100km dashes if you want to have any reasonable consumption figures..lol
  2. C-class as we just weren't using all the space and seats in Kluger and in the meantime we were lugging 2 tonnes of car around. So now with the C we can still fit a medium size adult between the booster seats and the boot is bordering on enormous, the performance is WOW and obviously the handling is very different. Having said all that, I personally still rate the Kluger and no question its a very good car.
  3. Hi all, although not a large contributor to the discussions i nonetheless kept a regular watch over this forum and thank you to all those very knowledgeable folks who often answer questions and provide advice that is almost always correct. As the heading suggests the Kluger is sold, I went into a dealership over the weekend for a bit of a sticky and let's just say that what started off as a bit of a joke become quite serious when they put a changer-over figure on the table that was too good to let go. So if anyone or you know of anyone looking for a second hand late '07 KXS-AWD with less than 30,000kms silver pearl in absolutely mint condition keep an eye out on the car sites. Not sure which dealer will end up with it as the car i assume will be wholesaled (if that is even a word). Sam

    Clunky gearbox

i haven't experienced any such jerkiness (if that's a word) as you describe, but i have noticed on ocassion the low speed indecisiveness and i generally put that down to the light throttle applications/torque converter/drivetrain slack particularly with the AWD. Everything i just said could ofcourse be a load of c^^p and not even close to the mark as i am not a mechanic
  5. well if that turns out to be the case, then to quote a great line form a great movie..."tell'em their dreamin" ;)
  6. hi all, i've just gone onto he Toyota website and saw that as part of the options available there is a rear seat entertainment package comprising of individual screens which seem to mount below the front seat headrests. on reading the blurb that goes with the pictures it would appear that each screen works independantly of the other so i presume each screen has its own drive and the like. I've called my local dealer to inquire but he was none the wiser, has anyone here made any inquires? Cost? Thanks
  7. I was at the tyre shop on the weekend discussing tyres for my car and mentioned that the wife's Kluger would be up for rubber in another 5,000k's or so. I was told that Hancook will be releasing a tyre in the next few weeks or so in sizing to suit...finaly some more competition for Bridgestone
  8. wilscat i think you'll find that _kit_ is right on the $ with what he is saying. Because i have the same noise in the same circumstances as you have detailed. The first time i came across this noise was with our previous RAV and i must say it caught me by surprise because all my other cars have never done it.Now with the Kluger same thing as the RAV, i presume its a characteristic of the brake calipers used by Toyota. But as i said, not a characteristic of all cars or calipers.

would Toyota even consider a diesel option...one would assume that once the Territory lands with a diesel....Toyota will do something, its not as if they have a shortage of diesel egines to choose from

MJC nice unit, how did u go with steerig wheel buttons and functionality?
  11. our is the silver, but i personally like the glacier, in fact saw an Altidute in glacier at Phil Gilbert last saturday...was there with a cousin of mine who is looking at buying a Klug...unfortunately for him the numbers with his trade-in don't quite stack up. in true life the glacier and silver are very different as for the sage...i have to say that its not one of my most favourite...but hey others on forum i'm sure really like it
  12. personally i don't think there is any chance of the venza coming out this way. cost associated with switching to RHD alone not to mention idiocentric ADR's would not be justified by our tiny market...pricing would be another issue....i don't think there is enough fat between Klug and RX then again who are we to second guess ;) toyota world

    tailshaft clunk

Hey Croy, no as far as i can tell the sound is coming from the back 1/2 of the car, somewhere under say the back seat.

    Polaris Satnav

MJC, i looked at the polaris and was put off a little by the quality or lack thereof....just didn't quite seem right...having said that i suppose at the right price...what the heck. If you've followed the posts you would have seen that Mikeboy is a bit of a guru with most things electrical and he has actually upgraded the unit in his KX-R with a Kenwood (very nice!) i'm still looking and hoping that all this doom and gloom and GFC business (can i mention the "R" word, seems like everyone else is at the moment) will mean i can haggle just a little harder with the audio guys. For what its worth there's an Eclipse unit AVN600 (i think) soon to be replaced = negotiate hard and really get a good deal. As you may know Eclipse is the retail arm of Fujtitzu (did i spell that right...not even close)... as such i think you'll find that wiring harnesses and stuff like that a ready to go so you can keep all your steering button functions.
