  1. Hi, I have a 2003 Toyota Camry Ateva, 4 SPD Auto, 2.4L Model: ACV36R-DEPNKQ. Engine: 2AZ-FE VIN: 6T153BK360X012305. I recently took my car to the dealer to have a dead instrument cluster checked out. After leaving, I noticed the AC light blinking when turned on.Not sure if this was a result of them removing fuses to diagnose the cluster meter fault that tripped the system or something entirely different. General reading online suggests that the relay/fuse may need to be reset/replaced or possible refrigerant top up. Can someone please offer insight into this issue with solutions or explain how to identify the correct relay/fuse that needs to be reset/replaced? On a side note, can anyone recommend an online parts store that sells cluster meters for the aforementioned vehicle model? Thank you.
  2. Well I still havent replaced my Air Selector unit globes, but in pulling one out to identify a part number, the control to select Head, Foot, Demist etc has stopped working. All other dials work, and I've checked the cables are all plugged in, but for some reason just that dial isnt working. Any ideas?
  3. Hey guys, I think my continuing issue of oil leak is coming from the rocker cover. I did a replacement before on a SR20DE with the help of a friend, but I didnt pay much attention to what the steps were, and what to look for, etc. Parts list? ie do i need some sort of liquid sealant or something as well? cleaning stuff - can i just use brake cleaner? also, there seems to be many brands available of the gaskets, SCA alone have 6, ranging from $24 to almost $70. Is there a particularly good one or bad one? Is there other tuning/servicing I should do while its off already?
  4. Hi all, I bought my '03 Camry Sportivo 2.4L a little while ago. I've since noticed that when in 5th gear I get a vibration/rattle through the gear stick. You can hear it as well (that's what alerted me initially to it). The sound and vibration go away if I have no throttle on. It also sometimes goes away if I pop it out of 5th and then slot it back in. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Many thanks in advance! James
  5. Hi, I have a 2003 Camry Sportivo ACV36R 4cyl Auto, there is a strange "squish" / "squeak" noise as I turn from around the steering wheel/column area, I am sure it is inside and not from under the bonnet area. I have sprayed WD40 between the steering wheel and horn contact area, also on the rubber boot area where the shaft goes thru the firewall Any ideas ???? Thanks Bruce
  6. Guys, I need a set of 16" or preferably 17" alloys for a 2003 Altise. Can't find anything decent. There were Vortex 17" wheels for Sportivo before, but I went to dealership today and they told me it is discontinued. Which is not surprising of course, given its age. What my best bet is? If somebody bought wheels for Gen5 recently, please recommend.
  7. Hi all, I've been researching what springs can be used on my AUDM '05 ACV36R Gen 5.5, and have noted that Eibach/TRD springs and Tein S.Techs were popular. I noticed that the S.Techs offered on eBay and alike were for 36s upto 2004, and TRD/Eibachs were primarily for 04-on models. Reading up in TN & TOC I learned the Gen 5.5 had a tapered spring and the Gen 5s didn't. When researching the King Springs catalogue, however, the same spring is used from the Gen 4 to the Gen 6 models. Can anyone shine any light on what springs (the above examples, or others) are compatible for the AUDM Gen 5.5, aside from King Springs, and whether they share the tapered spring design of the USDM Gen 5.5 or have the standard design of the USDM Gen 5s? Thanks in advance :)
  8. Well, sorry that my first post goes directly to bother all of you, although I guess that's the idea with this forum. The main reason I join "ToyotaOwnersClub" was to find answers as I just got a Camry Altise 2003 from a very good friend, who had it crashed last November 2013. I think I got a real bargain despite some people told me that repairing this car is going to end up a little bit expensive. this car requires to change its dual airbags as the crash was critical on the passenger's side as can be seen in the attached photos. I already asked for quotations for the front bumper and its front support bar Regarding the dual airbags I've been googling and found a lot of valuable information on how to DIY However I'd appreciate additional advice from this forum members who eventually would have dealt with similar situations For example, I was told that the sensors (which for me look in perfect condition), require to be replaced Additionally the Airbags Module Control require to be reset which can only be done by using a expensive reader or such But maybe the most critical issue I'm facing is how to straighten the crushed passenger's side chassis beam as shown in the photos I know common sense would say, "why not to take the car to the panel beaters?" - for which I must say, as I live on an island, I am hoping to fix it by myself unless that definitely I won't be able to find either the appropriate tools and /or other components. Anyway, this is part of my story with my new "used" Camry Altise 2003 I will truly appreciate and thank all your considerate answers and help.
