  1. My 09' Aurion wont load a new CD i bought, but will load all my other cds. It doesn't seem any different - doesnt seem thicker, and iv inserted cds made in the same year and more recent with no issue. Has anyone had a similar issue?
  2. Hey all, just wondering if anyone happens to know the exact refrigerant capacity for an 04' Mark 3 Avalon ? Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a sticky/thread in the workshop area for all Toyota models & relevant refrigerant charge capacity. Camry, Landcruiser, Landcruiser Prado, Aurion, Avalon, Corolla, etc.
  3. Hi All, New member and first time poster looking for advise. I have owned a lot of common brands and models of vehicle but i always come back to Aurion. I now have 2013 Aurion AT-X (magnetic Bronze: light golden colour) and want to upgrade it a bit without breaking my pocket, so looking for recommendation for any customer, vinyl designs, rim and other upgrades you can recommend of have done to your vehicle. Thinking to go black 18" rim with that light gold colour, however unable to find a suitable size at market place so please advise what rims will work better on it. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi Just a warning to all fellow members, last week my 2006 Aurion ATX was stolen in Sydney (keyed entry)! I thought as a modern car the my Aurion was difficult to steal, so I was SURPRISED when the police constable - before I even told her the car model - said, "don't tell me it's a Toyota Aurion". I'd like to open a discussion on this, she said the Aurion has an easy ignition switch under the steering wheel. Does anyone know about this? News to me! If this is true I suspect my vehicle was also targeted because of the keyed entry making it easy to screwdriver in. Any auto electricians out there want to comment on the ignition switch rumour? What can we do to prevent this? If you live in Sydney be cautious, I was completely suprised car theft was a rising issue again -according to the police audii also are being targeted.

  6. My 2006 Aurion ATX now has 225,675 kms on the odometer. It could be somewhat overdue for a fuel filter replacement. I do not know whether the fuel filter was replaced before 165,000 kms when I bought the vehicle. Ryco Z646 or equivalent is a direct fitment for the 40 Series Aurion. I have previously watched a number of YouTube videos. Removing the bottom cushion of the rear seat was relatively easy. Prying off the cover was also easy but that black adhesive is messy. I used 2 small screwdrivers, 1 to push on the retaining clip of the electrical connector and the other one to pry it up. As per the YouTube videos, I started the engine which only ran for a minute before dying and this reduced the system pressure. I then fully removed the yellow plastic retaining clip and the hose came off quite easily. I used a large round magnet [instead of a parts tray] to keep track of the small 8mm ring retaining bolts. It was quite easy to manouvre out the fuel filter and pump assembly. Hard part was disassembling the various components to get down to just the fuel filter body. Multiple small screwdrivers and/or pick tools will be needed to unclip various parts. Hardest challenge was removing the sender unit which I found out has 2 parts. Upper part can be removed by pushing upwards. Base component is removed by pushing downwards so that the underneath tabs move into a small rectangular area then it releases and can be pried loose. Fuel pump is removed by pushing downwards. An upper o-ring is what holds the pump in position. I tried to spray clean the fuel pump strainer sock but no noticeable difference. Fortunately, I had previous bought some on eBay which were a smaller size but did fit. This is the type of strainer sock with a straight hole for the retaining clip. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32788433064.html Round metal item located at the bottom of the fuel filter body is also held in position with an o-ring. Just needs a bit of leverage to come loose. It would be nice to say that everything worked the first time. However, not the case. Big learning is to check that you have no parts left on your work area. I had forgotten to reclip a bottom retaining cover under the fuel pump and which also retains that abovementioned round metal item which I had to fish out of the fuel tank. Fortunately, everything is working and engine is able to idle and accelerate nicely. Something that I noticed the next day is that the engine is now idling lower by about 100 rpm. The fuel sender unit is working showing fuel level at the expected half level. Next test will be to refuel the car and check the indicated fuel level. Overall, this is a task which can be done in 2-3 hours. With a lot better preparation, you should be able to reduce that to 1-2 hours. I will post some pictures later and possibly some links to worthwhile YouTube videos.

General topic of discussion on what tyres people are running on STOCK/OEM alloy wheels Discussion is applicable to basically every Camry/Aurion & Avalon from 2000 - Current Wether it be 16", 17", 18" or 19" rims, a true enthusiast won't run "no branded/cheapie tyres" If any non branded/respected tyres come into question, please don't comment 😁 Michelin, Continental, Toyo, Falken, etc etc all welcome. Include the size, aspect ratio & profile gentleman/ladies ! PLEASE BE CIVIL, KEEP IT FRIENDLY

  10. Hello, I recently bought a 2013 sportivo in overall good condition. However i noticed the front bumper lower kit has a decent gap and is slightly loose. I noticed the rear bumper has a grey/silver rubber strip that lines the lower kit and "seals" it to the body. Should the front have this as well? If so how would i find this and anyone know what that part is called?
  11. Hey guys , so i’m stuck in a pickle, someone nicked my engine compartment shield so i got a new one from the wreckers for 11$ Without clips though , does anyone know what clips goes there like what size do i look for online . I believe they are the push clip / rivets is that right ?
  12. Hi all I have a 2007 Aurion Sportivo, and got it serviced, I specified the trans oil should be genuine WS fluid but looking at the receipt they used Fuchs T4. I rang them and they said it was Fuchs equivalent and will be fine. This was 13,000km ago. Around 5000kms later a friend replaced the RF drive shaft to remedy a shudder, which it did. I got it back and went on holiday, and the CEL, VSC and traction control lights came on but it was driving fine so I figured I'd book it in when I got back. Made it home last night, my partner went to go to the shop this morning, and it lost drive a few kms down the road. Selects the gears but act as though it's in neutral, even in reverse and tiptronic. When I went to put it in park it made a bit of a graunching noise. I am thinking the transmission input shaft and wonder the link between the 2 repairs mentioned above...
  13. Has anyone had any alternator problems with the 2010 Aurion. I’ve had it in to Toyota 4 times and been told it’s fine but the battery never gets charged that much, the alternator always outputs 13.4v even if the battery is flat (I just has a jump from road side assist) guy said the alternator isn’t a fully smart alternator and with the battery as flat as it was should have been around 14.4v said have it checked I’ve had it checked by Toyota 4 times been told it’s fine and that the 13.4v was normal any help would be great and I’m about to do a trip around nsw and don’t need it failing why I’m out travelling.
  14. Hello all, my rear sunshade button popped in (under the aircon) on my aurion 2010 sportivo zr6 and I had to pull the centre console up in order to get to it and push it back into place. I noticed that upon lifting it up a black wire not connected to anything and just asking around to make sure something isn't unplugged. There are the two white clip plugs and it's on the same wire group going up to the 12v power outlet behind the gearstick and infront of the centre glovebox. I didn't take a picture when I had it out but I've attempted to take some just lifting it up a bit without re-taking it all off (refer to 3 images below, inside of the unconnected wiring, showing the cable group via side photo and top location of those wires). I figured it might be a spare port for additions just above the power outlet but wanted to double check. Cheers! (Please excuse the mess)
  15. Ok so, i recently got a 2011 Aurion Touring, and i'm bloody in love with it. The power is great, the smoothness of the gearbox, and the comfort that it offers. Buttttt there's a tad of an issue. I was driving with a few of my mates up a windy mountain road, and the speed limit was 80km/h, all of them in their almost weightless FWD Integra's, Civics and even Celica's were taking the corners which were fairly tight and bendy mind you, at around 80k's an hour. Me in the aurion was barely able to go around them at 70km/h which was the recommended speed around the corners so the signs say. Anyway thats the backstory to why im asking this question. The Ultra Racing 19mm Rear Sway Bar upgrade seems to be the recommended first upgrade for handling to any of the GSV40R chassis. and i was just wondering if anyones had experience with it and how it affected the other aspects of normal everyday driving VS when you want to have a little fun in the corners. Because while i would love the decrease in body roll that the bar offers, if it affects the rest of the car in everyday commutes and stuff i think id rather steer clear, but if theres no drawbacks then im all for it.   16. Hey guys! I was looking at picking up an Aurion as a cheap runabout. My brother has one and it's been a very reliable car but he's only clocked 130k on it. As I was looking at some cheaper examples on gumtree, between the 200k-300k mark and was wondering what you guys have experienced with these cars in that mileage range. They tend to only cost between $4000-$6000. Doing my research I understand the GR motors on the Aurion's and Lexus's are very very reliable. The only thing I have found to go bad on more than one occasion is the water pump, which is a $1000 job because of the labour involved and where it is placed. My brothers also developed the famous 'Toyota death rattle' on cold starts, which I assume earned its name for a reason, but his car still runs every single day with the death rattle and has done for over a year. Any info you could give me on your own cars and experience with the higher mileage would be awesome. Thanks guys

So I thought I'd start one... I know there's a few of us out there who have one despite the fact Toyota didn't make many of these things.
