Hey all, I've been having a weird problem with my diesel 06 sr5 dual cab, whenever I take my keys out my clock will reset back to 1:00, my keyless entry stopped working, the alarm for leaving my lights on has stopped working and when I turn on accessories the gauges flicker for a few seconds before returning to normal, I've had the battery checked and that's all good, terminals are tight, grounding is still tight. This all happened at the same time, I haven't done any recent mods to the car it just started doing it out of the blue... Any ideas? Cheers

Hi, I am new to the club. I bought a brand new SR5 last year. Upon having it for 7 days, the brakes failed and caused an accident. At the time of the accident i was not traveling at high speeds, was around 35kph. The dealership i bought it from did a diagnostic check and deemed that there was nothing wrong. The car was repaired by my insurer and I continued to drive it albeit apprehensively. It has been a few months now and I washed my car through the carwash - upon exiting the carwash and applying the brake (again at low speed) a horrific sound came through the cab and the whole veh

Gday forum! just got a Hilux 2012 sr5 extra cab and need to desperately change the wheels that are on there! I’ve never owned a Ute before always been a small hatch kinda guy but this is the work car and didn’t really have much of a say. I’ve attached a pic below. Can anyone help me out with some specs or info of what I can replace these with? Thanks in advance!

The time has come for the family to try a "lifestyle" vehicle. We like the HiLux and D-Max. Does anyone on here have a 2017 SR5? Before purchase did you consider a D-Max? The HiLux doesn't seem to get a lot of respect from motoring writers who all bang on about the Amarok. CarConversation rated it highly though: http://www.carconversation.com.au/reviews/2017-toyota-hilux-sr5-4x4-double-cab-review I welcome your thoughts, the D-Max is considerably cheaper.

Hi All, I've just had the 130k service done on my Hilux by Toyota and to have them tell me the turbo has to be replaced, at a cost to me of $3k. It was making a whistling/siren sound corresponding to the engine revs so I suspected it was a turbo problem but didn't expect that it need replacing this early in the cars life. I bought my Hilux brand new and have serviced with Toyota dealers for every service, even outside of warranty. I'd expect a turbo to last more than just over 4 years and 130k on a Toyota. I'm keen to know if anyone else has had a similar issue with there Hilux turbo fai

I was wondering if anyone had seen or knew of any accessory options to remount the original Toyota Fog Lights on my SR5 Hilux? Recently fitted an XROC Bullbar and I would like to remount the original Fog Lights rather than buy an aftermarket set. Any thoughts?

Hi guys I am new to this whole scene. Current vehicle is a VT Commodore Wagon, for obvious reasons I am looking to upgrade and am pretty sold on a Hilux. Having never owned one before, are there any things in particular I should take note of when inspecting? Also are there any things I should be wary of in the next 5 or so years in terms of overall health of a 2009 model SR5 Hilux. The truck in question is a 2009 SR5 Hilux, automatic, dual cab, 4x4, turbo diesel. Currently has roughly 120xxx K's on the clock and seems to be in fair condition. Haggled the owner down to about $25K from $29k.

Hi there, Ive owned my hill for 3 years now and apart from a reversing camera which I had fitted prior to delivery I haven't changed or added anything yet. Its time to start fitting her out and make her the beast should should be. Im looking specifically for advice and suggestions of the best additions to a standard model and order of priority to get my Hilux ready for Off Road trips. Cheers Match

Well, after a bad dose of the "Man-Flu" and being dosed up on drugs (the legal kind, of course) My flares didnt stand the 'brick letterbox' test. I'm just hoping someone on here knows what years i can interchange as Im not even close to interested in buying a new drivers side rear flare at the princely sum of $508 + gst (unpainted, fk me!!!) So anyone wrecking a sterling silver tray/tub Id like to hear from you or those with the knowledge of the compatible years of my 2013 sr5 lux.

Hi Everyone, I just won a brand new (2014) Hilux SR5 manual diesel. As this is the first diesel 4x4 I have owned, I am still deciding whether to keep it or not. I have added a canopy and rubber matting to the tray, the main use so far has been carrying 4 sets of golf clubs when I car pool with some mates, and the weekly shopping. Looking forward to browsing some topics in the forums.....

Hi all, new here!, just trying to find the correct method to correct my annoying problem. I have a 1998 sr5 dual cab 4x4 with a 5l non turbo in it. everything has been maintained to the the highest standard, although recently it has started to puff black smoke when under load in 2nd and 3rd gear. Not all that much but enough to have me paranoid. I know these motors are quite dirty and i should allow for alittle smoke now and then under heavy conditions, but under acceleration with an empty tub, it seems to blow smoke. Its just hit 300,000 its just had a fresh aircleaner and fuel filter at se

Hi everyone. My dad has a '05 hilux 3L TD D4-D White the first of the new shape, after spending a fair bit of money on redoing the injectors because they weren't coded right or something dad didn't explain it well. Seeing as I am going to help pay we have decided on a new exhaust then a bull bar reversing lights (small square flood lights), then a light bar on the bull bar. We are going for the colour coded ARB Alloy with the Warn Winch (not a full 4wder but do go on hunting trips). Not sure what LED Cree light bar. (any opinions would be great) We are unsure on what way to do the exhaus

Hi Everyone, I'm looking at up sizing my 2011 Hilux SR standard set of steel 16 inch rims and 205/R16C tyres without modifying the car. Shopping for unwanted wheels from other Hilux models seemed logical, given there are so many available, but good information about what works is hard to come by. From what I've heard so far, the Hilux TRDs have 17 inch rims with 255/65x17 tyres, while the SR5s have 15 inch rims with 255/70x15 tyres. Does anyone know if either of these will fit straight onto a 2011 Hilux SR (dual cab with a tray)? Alternatively, are there any other types of larger wheels/rim

Hey guys, I'm a new member here. I thought I'd join after I purchased a new 2013 SR5 Hilux from my local Toyota dealership. I'm looking to get opinions and thoughts after it was broken into after owning it for less than a month. I live in a quiet suburb in Sydney and bought from my local Toyota Dealership. For two weeks I was up and down from Brisbane so it lined up perfectly with my first service (serviced at the dealership). I got it serviced during the week and had it parked in the driveway each night since then. I woke up on Monday morning to go to work and found the back window smashed in

I just wanted to get people's opinions on good canopies, brands and models, as well as good vendors in Sydney area. I have a 2009 dual-cab Hilux SR5 4l V6 petrol 4x2. Some important considerations for me are: - security. What windows are the most secure? If I get solid walls will that adversely affect visibility while driving? Which doors/locks are most secure? Is fibreglass easy to pop off at all? Does anyone have an alarm system with their canopy, and can it be integrated into an alarm system for the ute as a whole? Has anyone had anything stolen out of a canopy and how did they get in? - si

Hi Hilux owners, I have not owned a Hilux for many years now, so my recent;y acquired 1998 SR5 extra cab have some gadgets that I am unfamiliar with - I think. I have tried to get hold of a workshop manual so that I can read up on it, but have not found one yet. So, I am wondering who can tell me what I hear on it - described as such: When I reverse out of my driveway (a bit of an incline) and turn sharp to the right, I hear a sound briefly that sounds like an electric servo of some sort. It goes whoooooor and then stops, almost like something that winds down briefly then stops, this is th

G'day everyone, i have a 1983 toyota hilux SR5 4x4 that has been changed from a petrol to a diesel motor (out of a hilux surf 4x4). The problem im having is that there is a serious rattling noise that happens when using gears 1,2,3,5 and reverse, but gear 4 is quiet and normal. Ive been told that it can be the transfer case, which might need replacing, the gear box, or one of the hubs could be stuck on which will cause the noise. At first i thought it was 100% the gear box, but the rattling noise happens occasionally in neutral, and the noise comes from the transfer case itself. Any advice or
