  1. HI guys, First time posting, just wondering if you guys could clear up a few questions I have, in converting a ep91 5 speed starlet and putting the paseo 1.5L engine in to it. Question 1: Is the engine loom in the starlet the same as the loom in the Paseo or will I need the Paseo loom? Question 2: The starlet is currently a 5 speed manual the Paseo donor car I have is an automatic, will the Paseo ecu run if I keep the manual transmission? Question 3: Will the 5 speed starlet box bolt straight onto the Paseo engine? And are there any other modifications I need to do? Or any other info that would help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hi all so I'm doing a steel tray conversion to my recently acquired 1994 single cab petrol hilux, and I'm wanting to sell the styleside box and hard cover that it came with when I got it. I hear they're hard to come by, would anyone know how much one could fetch at all? I'm thinking of taking heaps of photos (provided I remember!) and posting a bit of a DIY thread if people are interested.

  5. Got a little project on the go, my gearbox is on it's last legs and I have a dodgy foot so I'm pulling my manual box and 1HZ turbo out of my HZJ75 and putting in the 4L60E auto trans and 3.8L V6 Ecotec out of a VT Commodore in it's place. Is there anyone else out there who has done this conversion? Started with
  6. Hi all, whats good?? Im planning on converting my 3dt kzn185 97 surf motor for a v8 soarer single turbo. im curious about the electrical side of things, obviously the v8 ecm/ecu will be replacing the surf's, though how will the 4wd function? or is that a separate circuit?? im playing around with ideas at this stage, hence why im asking for any insight here instead of reading the manual. Any help much appreciated motor lovers! keep safe...
  7. Hi everyone, I just converted my Toyota Vienta 3VZ-FE to run on Sprintgas LPG. I have no idea which kit was fitted into my car. I got a really good deal from a local installer. About $500 out of pocket after the Victorian government rebate. The system installed is a single point vapour injection system. The LPG vapour is fed at the throttle body. I lost nearly half my boot space because of the tank. I didn't opt for the donut tank that some people fit into the spare wheel bay because that would have cost me $300 extra. That being said, I usually only drive by myself or with one passenger. I have the backseat to put all my stuff. The LPG-Petrol switch is located near the fuse box. There was a blank fascia plate which made it convenient for the installer. He didn't have to do any cutting of my dash. Performance wise, you can feel that you need to put your foot down more than usual to get the car going. The low end torque that we love so much about the 3VZ is not there. I found that the power increase is now a much straighter curve towards the higher revs. I think I will need my LPG mechanic to tune my AFM such that I get back the lower torque bump. That being said, I'm used to only revving up to 3k to get off the line to 80kmh which is the speed I usually drive at in suburban areas. Cruising on the highway is no problem at all. I had an issue with the LPG gas causing the engine to idle too low. When I was decelerating from 80kmh, somehow the overdrive/4th gear didn't change up and that caused the engine to stall. Thank goodness I was approaching a red light. Happened another time when I was turning a corner. I brought it back to the LPG installer and he put in a balance line running from the airbox to the LPG mixer. I also decided to change my sparks to the NGK LPG plugs. The loss of low end power was reduced after I switched the spark plugs. I ran my first tank of LPG to zero and then filled it up. It came up to 46.44 litres of LPG. I'm assuming my tank is a 55 litre tank. I am still running on my first full tank of LPG so I'll update you guys on the milelage later on. I'm currently at 200km at the fuel gauge on the switch is showing 2 out of 4 green lights. (red light = reserve). Hopefully I'll get up to 350km from 40 litres of LPG. With an 8cent discount from Coles/Shell, I am about 58.9 cents per litre of LPG. Works out to be less than $25 for a full tank of LPG.
  8. We want to add a rear seat to a 1993 Toyota Hiace, fitted out as a campervan. Does anyone have experience with this? It once had seats, which were removed prior to the bed being fitted and is now registered as a two seater. There seems to be enough room to put a seat in. We plan to use an infant c****at, so will need shoulder belt, rather than lap belt. Who can legally install these? (in Victoria) Will only certain seats fit? What is required to add a shoulder belt? Any other advice appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Well guys, have been away for a long time traveling etc since i sold my Sportivo (miss it soooo badly) I havent had a car for a few years and i have ben riding around on motorbikes. Because its toyota related i have a few questions!!! So im currently living out of Aus for a few years and would like to pick up a cheap car for daily driving and fun cruising on the weekend. I have average experience with cars and do alot of reading on specs/stats etc. I would like to know some pros and cons from users here in regards to buying a 2nd hand cefiro with one of these turbo engines. Im a big fan of these 3 engines and there is a large supply of cefiros for sale with these engines available in them. Now obviously it depends how good the work has been done on the car, but for now i would like to be able to narrow my search on them. It will most likely be personal preference of which engine, but in regards for maintenance etc and less issues of modified engines i have heard the 1jz is quite reliable. Rb25 would be great, and the 2jz has always made me cream myself as a youngster watching my first mkiv supra fly by...... If anyone has experience in these engines in a conversion point of view, especially in a cefiro could you please let me know. I would be driving manual. A few of them have had LPG conversions too.....im not too fond of the idea and i have done some googling on LPG tubo cars, but could i get some light shed on the idea of LPG in a turbo car. The reason for buying a cefiro is because years ago they were a bigger import here and anything such as a skyline, or silvia/s14/180sx are a few thousand $ more than the cefiros that have had some slight work........hence the choice of the A31. I have drivin in some old soarers and a chaser. Ive never drivin a rb25det. They are all fun to ride in but now that im looking at 1 chasis and have to choose which engine its quite difficult! I enjoy my cars and im not too biased about them. Dont be upset or biased about a nissan running a toyota engine please!! Just give me your thoughts from a tuners POV. Thanks heaps! Any help will be much appreciated.
  10. I've purchased a 2009 Aurion ZR6 recently and intend to convert to LPG. All installers I've spoken to have told me Vapour will see no noticeable, if any, loss of power. Some have told me Liquid injection will improve power (over petrol) and efficiency (over vapour). While others have told me vapour is all I should get because it's proven and liquid is too new?? Has anyone experienced the difference? Interested in wear and tare, power & efficiency. Also, would love to hear recommendations on installers to use. Any advice appreciated! Can't tell who's telling the right story.
