  1. Hi everyone,When driving over speed bumps at slow speed the front suspension makes a loud squeaking, almost creaking noise. The sound is similar to opening the creaky door of your garden shed! It doesn't affect the handling/function of the car but is very annoying/embarrassing.Hoping it may solve the problem, I have replaced both front struts - they were 100% worn out so time and money not wasted, however this has made no difference to the creaking noise. Both springs and lower/upper rubber insulators were in good condition with no corrosion/deterioration so these can all be ruled out as the cause of the creaking. The video below shows you the noise when driving over speed bumps at slow speed. (**You will need to turn up your volume to hear it the creaking noise - it's actually much louder in reality, the sound hasn't come out very well on the video.**) Any ideas what could be causing this?I have inspected the sway bar bushings, although not disassembled them yet. They seem in good condition and look like they have been replaced in the last couple of years. Would it pay to take these apart and stick some rubber grease on them? Or are they supposed to work dry?Any other suggestions?!The car is a Toyota Corolla 1999, Conquest, 1.8l Petrol, AE112, 189,000kms on the clock (118,000 miles). Thanks for your help!! Joe
  2. Hi fellow Aurion owners Just picked up my 2013 Aurion AT-X from the dealership today, the car has been exceptional overall so far but two things have caught my attention. Oh and the dealership forgot to complete one part of the road worthy process so they lent me a loan car (2nd Gen Aurion AT-X as well), which I had for about 5 hours before picking up my car. 1. When I turn on the front demister in my car the fan speed goes from off or 1 to full blast. Is that supposed to happen? When I used it on the loan car it stayed on 1 and demisted the wind screen just fine. 2. It might just be me but after going from the loan car to my car it felt like the engine was much more audible especially at the lower revs under 3000 rpm, and the overall engine sounds different, slightly higher pitched. It was like part of the NVH insulation was missing or something. Thanks in advance for any input :)
  3. Hi there, I have a bump on my front bumber bar on my rukus. It is silver colour and factory standard. I wonder if anyone here has any suggestions on where its best for me to get it replaced? I am based in Sydney. BTW - love the Rukus, really enjoy driving it around. thanks.
  4. Anyone know how they changed the front of this car (looks much darker around the number plate area) - is it a new bumper? Anything available similar for an 06 model? ...Or any other options? I would love to do something like this! Cheers, Sam
  5. Okay, so I've been driving my newly acquired '96 Vienta Csi and I'm ready to take it to the next level. My main gripe with the car is that the ride is too soft for my liking. It's comfortable going over potholes and bumpy roads, but when I do quick turns and cornering, it feel like an oil tanker. After forum hopping for a while, it seems that a front strut beam and rear sway bar would make a difference at a lower price point. After doing a little digging and visiting autobarn down in chaddy this afternoon, i realised that Whiteline does not make a front strut beam for the '96 Vienta because there is no clearance above the engine; a real bummer. So i'm posting this hoping get a few more ideas re how i can improve my suspension without blowing a big hole in my pocket. A friend of mine recommended changing the stock suspension to coilovers and that should reduce the need for FSB and RSB. I don't have a lot of money to spare so if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share them. (if you could provide an estimated cost as well, that will be awesome) thanks! :D
