  1. Hi all, I think I just picked up a bargain, a 2008 Presara, GSV40R V6 (200kw) with ~118000kms on the clock. It seems to drive quite nice, but I'm not sure what to do around this type of mileage when it comes to servicing? I would like to get it serviced and thoroughly checked over by a mechanic but not sure what to ask them to check for. I would like to spend some bucks on it to ensure reliability for future driving as I do a lot of kilometres every year (30-35k per year). I feel that the suspension is a bit tied, the front discs seem to be warped as there's a bit of shudder under braking, wondering what an automatic trans service would do because I think that the previous owner towed with the car as when its cold it holds on to gear change a while longer before changing, would full synthetic in the trans be any good? Should I be looking at changing out the plugs as full economy with 98ULP varies around ~11lt to 100km? It's not blowing any smoke that I can see, or leaking anything on the drive, but what type of motor oil should I be using in the engine? Is upgrading any of the filters make a difference in performance and economy? Does it need a timing belt change out not knowing when or if its been done? What are the water pumps like on these cars, usually, in previous cars, I would be replacing them around 120-140km mark, is there any tell tale signs that I may need to doe this? How does the power steering go, sounds a bit noisy when in full lock both directions when in operations....is there anything else anyone could share with me before I book into a mechanic...I've already done an alternator, and that was an experience, expensive too (just short of $1000). Any news would be greatly appreciated team. Thanks.
  2. Hi Everyone. I have a 2010 presara bought recently, and apart from some issues here and there, one issue in particular is bothering me. The door handle sensors for key-less locking and unlocking the driver door seem stop working intermittently. I haven't been able to figure out the exact situations that lead to the sensors not working. For unlocking, I place the hand at the lower side of the handle, so the hand placement is not an issue. For locking, the button on the handle has to be pressed. A pretty straightforward action here as well. When the sensors don't work, there is a distinct single long beep sound from the car instead of the actual lock/unlock action. I have been trying to search for this issue on the internet but to no avail. Maybe I've been searching with the wrong keywords? Any help would be appreciated! Arian
  3. Hi, I have a 2007 Aurion AT-X GSV40R and as per the manual, the car should use 215/60R16 95V or 215/55R17 93V tyres. The recommended pressure chart is as follows. I've been using 30 psi (215/60R16 95V, less than 140km/h, up to 4 passengers) on my tyres, but the tyres I have in there are not the exact match as this is a second hand car and the last owner put the Yokohama A-Drive 215/60R16 99H tyres in it. So, it's 95V vs 99H. So is it OK to use 30psi, or should I use a different pressure? Also, I had been using the compressors at the fuel stations, which as I heard are pretty inaccurate and cannot do it at cool state. Can someone recommend me a reasonably priced unit for doing it (check pressure and inflate) at home? (either 12V car battery or even 240V is OK) Cheers

Hi all, Just wondering if you could please advise how easy it is to remove the panel located to the right of the ignition switch for the installation of a button to switch on and off a set of DRLs I would like to install. Can anyone also recommend an auto sparky who would be able to do such an installation for me? I've done smaller modifications like installing an analog radio scanner into my dash and hiding the antenna in the A pillar (not the best for reception, but sufficient for needs at the moment), but because this is my first car I'm not particularly keen on doing a mod like this myself.   5. I've recently purchased a used 2009 Aurion GSV40R Touring and it has TRD badging on the engine cover and brembo brakes fitted all round. I've always assumed that this was a factory option although I couldn't find anything on it. Do you guys think the badge is perhaps a fake and the brembo's were fitted aftermarket. Does anyone else have the same?
