  1. Hi, I have a 2002 camry advantage (SXV20R 5S-FE). I was looking for the charing wiring diagram for this car and found an app (carmin). It's a good resource I think (lots of makes and models). According to carmins diagram, my car alternator should have 1 thik cable that goes to battery (+) post and 3 thin cable (3 pin connector) for controling the output and dash indicator. But looking under the bonnet, the alternator has only has 2 thin (2pin connector) and 1 thik cable to battery. I am so confused. Does anyone has the wiring diagram for a 2 pin alternator charging system? I would appreciate the help. Thanks

  7. Dear fellow avalon owners, i'm new to the club here (again i appreciate the approval from admin's) I recently came into ownership of in my opinion one very clean & definitely rare late 04' build Mark III Avalon Grande. with a complete and full toyota service history to back it up. Best thing is, everything works - sunroof was cleaned & greased properly on a regular basis. etc etc it's got over 200k on it yet it's still running 5w30 full synthetic, doesn't burn a single drop in between services (i mean within the exception of PCV vapours obviously, but i never have to add oil Just last year the entire intake manifold was off along with all the injectors being fully cleaned/tested or rebuilt depending (only going off what Toyota documents i have) - the manifold was fully cleaned inside out. I also managed to track down both spec sheets including full features list, specs, etc In my opinion i've always had a soft spot for the Avalon amongst other toyota models, with the exception of the Avalon could have been a superior product, along with that old school luxury which personally i adore, when Toyota Australia took over the MCX10R Avalon tooling from the good ol'e US of A, we made a solid car even better. and for the time, it didn't sell, but by the Mark III, they had a certain level of Lexus solidity. But just how over-built they are after seeing one in person really astounded me. Yes it does't have TCS, but half the time Commodore & Falcon TCS systems at the time were primitive at best. The level of refinement within a Mark III is quite impressive with the yanks to thank for certain items in my opinion Ford & GM never thought of. Top 5 features i really admire that isn't offered by Ford or Holden at the time. 1. Electric sunroof with tilt & slide as standard equipment on Grande models. 2. Standard navigation DVD based system that still can be updated even now because the system is still quite user friendly once you get the hang of it. 3. Active front seat headrests that both adjust up & down but also can tilt forward towards you or further back to improve your driving position. 4. "Cool Air Bypass Switch" - Air flows from the centre vents within the following settings, not only is it a safety feature, it's quite nifty. 5. That extra comfortable Lexus-like leather they used on the Avalon's which stood up well over time. All in all, i'm hard pressed to find a top spec Ford or Holden of the time that had navigation that either worked or was optioned for originally. Along with the touch points feeling of a much higher quality finish Will the Avalon catch on ?, only to those who are willing to give an otherwise brilliant car the time of day for..... 9. Hi all I've checked all my fuses and I don't think I've missed any. All appear to be fine.unless I missed some fuses hidden somewhere? I've checked my brake switch and also replaced it just incase but didn't fix the problem. I have replaced the bulbs with the correct bulbs. I have no idea what's wrong with the lights. The tail lights, blinkers and reverse lights work please help. I have a Toyota Hilux 2.8 diesel sports dualcab 2017. Cheers 😁
  10. Hi all, I have a Landcruiser 76 wagon. Just wanted everyone's opinions on whether it is necessary to get a suspension lift for off-roading or would the stock suspension be good enough? I understand doing that will increase your payload capacity but at this stage, I am just looking to go off-roading with a light payload. Has anyone done off-roading with a 70 series stock suspension? Also, from my homework, the max tyre size legally allowable is 265/75/R16 before a lift kit becomes necessary for bigger tyres, so my next question would be, are these tyre sizes good enough or would you recommend a 315/70/R16 etc? Thanks

  12. So, ladies & gentlemen... few months update. I've been monitoring my tyre life, but unfortunately i have to report the current continental tyres on my Avalon are wearing pretty averagely. There's nothing wrong with my alignment, etc - but the grip is negligible. Now the factory rim size off memory is 16x6 JJ with (off memory) 45° offset 205/60/R16 were factory fitted I upgraded to 215/55/R16 Slightly lower profile, speedo accuracy is negligible (1.48% out) Where as i want to correct that, now i can technically JUST fit a 225/55/R16 and get more grip, and also the speedo correction will basically be -0.23 (essentially dead accurate) Because even the continental's i have at the moment struggle for grip if i really push the Avalon from a stand still in some situations, i just guess she was made on a good day, it has no issue getting out of it's way. Also braking isn't as good which shocks me. Can anyone reccomend branded/respected brands with great grip over what i have, even so a 225 should boost grip substantially over a 205. I could get 205/55's in Michelin Pilot Sport 4's but personally i wana try have more rubber on the road if possible. I know the PS4's are excellent regardless of the size Sizes i'm after preferably 225/55/R16 or 215/55/R16 Last resort is a 205/55/R16 Pilot Sport 4 unless i get more grip from the alternates.
  13. Did you know that some Toyota vehicle comes with built-in On-Board diagnostic? Vehicle fitted with climate control has self-diagnosis capability. Watch and learn how to activate the diagnostic mode of your aircon system. You don't need the Toyota diagnostic scan tool to determine the A/C fault in your vehicle. Watch and share this video to help other people save money.

  17. Hi, I have Toyota Estima 2004 2.4L Auto, was wondering how to find out the if it's ACR30, ACR40 ... etc (Supercheap auto and Repco sites ask for these details when trying to find parts and their sites can't find the rego as it's import), got Vicroads rego renewal nootice and it says somewhere in between the VIN no: xxxxxACR30xxxxx, does this mean it's ACR30? Or if anyone knows the headlight bulb size and headunit size of it (as I guess there is no way to change the Japanese headunit to English, so need to purchase after market headunit), will be appreciated.
  18. Hey guys! I was looking at picking up an Aurion as a cheap runabout. My brother has one and it's been a very reliable car but he's only clocked 130k on it. As I was looking at some cheaper examples on gumtree, between the 200k-300k mark and was wondering what you guys have experienced with these cars in that mileage range. They tend to only cost between $4000-$6000. Doing my research I understand the GR motors on the Aurion's and Lexus's are very very reliable. The only thing I have found to go bad on more than one occasion is the water pump, which is a $1000 job because of the labour involved and where it is placed. My brothers also developed the famous 'Toyota death rattle' on cold starts, which I assume earned its name for a reason, but his car still runs every single day with the death rattle and has done for over a year. Any info you could give me on your own cars and experience with the higher mileage would be awesome. Thanks guys
  19. Hey there guys, I have a corollas ascent sport 2016 model, ZRE182. I’m wondering if anyone tried to replace their OEM seats for aftermarket bucket seats before? If so what are the rails patterns. Really keen on putting a pair into my slow boi. Thank you guys!
  20. 1996 Toyota Camry for sale. This car doesn't miss a beat in the 21 years I've had the pleasure to drive it. Fully serviced throughout its life. Fully shedded up to 12mths ago due to change in lifestyle. Has done many awesome kilometres together as this car is not shy to go on a big trip or just nip to the shops. Excellent first car for learner or needing a cheap reliable vehicle for some big trip or just to get about. This car is too mechanically and structurally good to just give to a wrecker. Message me for more details if you are genuinely interested. Wide body, 5sp manual, air con, engine immobilizer, remote central locking. Tyres one year old with good spare. 3x keys and working fobs. Will swap this car for $500 ono.
  21. Hi All, Sudden noise the other night when driving home. Checked it out the next day and still persistent. From my googling efforts and reading forum posts, it seems like it is the infamous water pump. I am in Adelaide. Been quoted $1980 at one toyota stealership (typo) and $1468 by another for the replacement. The usual story is that it is engine drop and will take up to twelve hours. What are your experiences with this? Anyone had theirs done at a non Toyota Dealership? Please see video below that shows where the sound is coming from.. https://youtu.be/FNoV4xhn3fA

  24. Hello, I am new here and just wanted to ask a question. It is very rare but occasionally I find 2006 Commonwealth games Camry Azura's online for sale, does anyone know how many of these were made and any more information such as engine type I'm sure it would be a 1MZ-FE but there's very little information out there that I can find, I couldn't even find much in the way of newspaper articles or online forums. Another thing I wanted to know were these used by the athletes and staff during the Melbourne Commonwealth games or were they just a special edition and the last thing I wanted to know was how much they were at retail price as they seem to have more extras than even the Sportivo and when I have seen them for sale they still go for about $7500 private sale and that's with high KM'S . Cheers, I am thankful for any help.
