  1. Hey guys! I was looking at picking up an Aurion as a cheap runabout. My brother has one and it's been a very reliable car but he's only clocked 130k on it. As I was looking at some cheaper examples on gumtree, between the 200k-300k mark and was wondering what you guys have experienced with these cars in that mileage range. They tend to only cost between $4000-$6000. Doing my research I understand the GR motors on the Aurion's and Lexus's are very very reliable. The only thing I have found to go bad on more than one occasion is the water pump, which is a $1000 job because of the labour involved and where it is placed. My brothers also developed the famous 'Toyota death rattle' on cold starts, which I assume earned its name for a reason, but his car still runs every single day with the death rattle and has done for over a year. Any info you could give me on your own cars and experience with the higher mileage would be awesome. Thanks guys
  2. I really Love this " Baby Come Back " ;)
  3. Hey there guys, I have a corollas ascent sport 2016 model, ZRE182. I’m wondering if anyone tried to replace their OEM seats for aftermarket bucket seats before? If so what are the rails patterns. Really keen on putting a pair into my slow boi. Thank you guys!
  4. 1996 Toyota Camry for sale. This car doesn't miss a beat in the 21 years I've had the pleasure to drive it. Fully serviced throughout its life. Fully shedded up to 12mths ago due to change in lifestyle. Has done many awesome kilometres together as this car is not shy to go on a big trip or just nip to the shops. Excellent first car for learner or needing a cheap reliable vehicle for some big trip or just to get about. This car is too mechanically and structurally good to just give to a wrecker. Message me for more details if you are genuinely interested. Wide body, 5sp manual, air con, engine immobilizer, remote central locking. Tyres one year old with good spare. 3x keys and working fobs. Will swap this car for $500 ono.
  5. Hi All, Sudden noise the other night when driving home. Checked it out the next day and still persistent. From my googling efforts and reading forum posts, it seems like it is the infamous water pump. I am in Adelaide. Been quoted $1980 at one toyota stealership (typo) and $1468 by another for the replacement. The usual story is that it is engine drop and will take up to twelve hours. What are your experiences with this? Anyone had theirs done at a non Toyota Dealership? Please see video below that shows where the sound is coming from.. https://youtu.be/FNoV4xhn3fA

  8. Hello, I am new here and just wanted to ask a question. It is very rare but occasionally I find 2006 Commonwealth games Camry Azura's online for sale, does anyone know how many of these were made and any more information such as engine type I'm sure it would be a 1MZ-FE but there's very little information out there that I can find, I couldn't even find much in the way of newspaper articles or online forums. Another thing I wanted to know were these used by the athletes and staff during the Melbourne Commonwealth games or were they just a special edition and the last thing I wanted to know was how much they were at retail price as they seem to have more extras than even the Sportivo and when I have seen them for sale they still go for about $7500 private sale and that's with high KM'S . Cheers, I am thankful for any help.
  9. New to this community and I was wondering what's your boy (car) model and let's face it, the one car you've been dreaming to have. Modified model or dream upgrades are welcome for sharing! Would love to hear some. ;)
  10. Hi all, This will be my first post on the forum, so bare with me. I have searched more threads than I can count related to this, on here and other forums. If the questions I am about to ask are already posted and answered here, I do apologize, I could not find them. OK! Lets begin! I have a 1994 MK4 Supra NA-T. so consider it an NA for the purposes of this. I had a rear ender the other month, purely cosmetic damage, and this was all repaired and I picked up the car and drove it for a full 3 days without any issues. Then the other day I was driving and as I stopped at the lights my idle was jumping between roughly 250-300 and 900 (car normally idles at 850). Car would stall from time to time when braking and stopping at the lights due to the revs dropping so low. I have been troubleshooting this for the past week. Initially I read that a dead battery can cause the CPU to have issues, and my battery was dead and needed to be replaced just before the accident (got rear ended on way to get new battery), so the car was sitting in the workshop with a dead battery for about a month. I will list the things I have tried and lets see how we go... - Changed spark plugs (needed changing anyway) - Changed spark leads (NA has the distributor and leads) - Found a bunch of leaks from my intercooler joiners (realigned everything and got rid of the leaks) - Checked for vacuum leaks (couldn't find any additional ones) - Reset the ECU - Checked timing belt marks (no tooth has been missed, timing is in correct position) - Adjusted TPS (changed the idle higher and lower but was still hunting from very low to around the 1000 mark) - Cleaned throttle body Lastly, and my suspected culprit. I noticed there was little to no difference in idle when I disconnected the IAC while the car idled. After more hours than I would like to admit getting the IAC off due to the screws being super soft and just rounding, I finally got it off, cleaned it as best I could, and cleaned the throttle body. The IAC gasket looks to be in good shape. I have tested the voltage of the IAC, which turned out fine, and the resistance of the connector which came up at 22.5 ohms across all pins (not sure what standard is meant to be, couldn't find it in TSRM) I read that on all cars the IAC is meant to push out and in with the ignition switch on and off. So I tested this while I had it plugged in but not bolted into the throttle body, and it did not move in or out. I then created a vacuum leak and started the car, and the IAC did move out and back in when the car was turned off. I am not sure if this indicates that it is working correctly since it moved, or if it is still not working correctly as it did nothing with the ignition on and off... This is pretty much where I am at, and would like some ideas or opinions on whether to replace this IAC, or test some other things on the car first. This is my first time ever looking at an IAC and I want to make 100% certain it needs replacing and is the likely the cause before spending more money. Currently as it stands, the car seems to be idling a little better, possibly due to one of the other things I did, but it still idles rough. Dipping between 600 and 1000, before stabilizing around 950. If I blip the throttle the dip gets worse and then it seems that the ECU tries its best to stabilize it again around 950, constantly moving up of down by 100rpm or so. The other day the car would start and stall almost immediately when the IAC was plugged in, and then start normally when I unplugged it, so I am not sure if its working intermittently or that was a one-off as it hasn't done that again since. Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry about the long post, just trying to give as much info as possible as I have run out of ideas. Attaching pictured of my IAC. 13. Hi, What do you guys think about toyota corolla in terms of smooth driving and fuel economy compared to other hatchbacks, or say the Yaris. We were thinking of getting a second hand one in the next months. Thanks for the info, it would help us make a good choice.

  15. Stupid question I know, But i was wondering if it is possible to do a 3MZ-FE Swap with my 1998 5spd Manual Toyota Camry MCV20R. If yes, what would I have to do?
  16. Hey Guys, I’ve been recently given an Aurion by my parents as they have now bought a new car, just wondering if anyone on here can suggest any work I should to do to make this thing look better, the rims are old now as well and the first thing I want to do is to replace them, but can’t find anything good, I would also like to change the front grille. any ideas appreciated!
  17. Hi guys, just found this community forum and thought to join. Im interested in the meets and the technical stuff. Thanks
  18. Hi Everyone, Has anyone had a steering problem on their Toyota Kluger? My Kluger Grande AWD nearly killed me the other night when the steering completely failed. I could not turn left or right. The steering wheel just kept turning continuously and unable to control the car. The incident did not result in death or injury to other drivers or myself but it was the most frightening experience I have ever had driving a Toyota. Watch the video. 20170811_195341.mp4
  19. Hi all. I need some DIY advice. I have a 1999 Toyota Hiace LWB (my first car). According to the mechanic I need the horn replaced. I was told: 'Don't waste your money with us as this car is old. Find a horn at a wrecker and install it yourself - its under the front grill'. (-_-) Has anyone replaced a Hiace horn? Is it difficult? Where do I start? Do I go to a wrecker or Supercheap Auto or ebay? Is it a specific horn? Is it tricky to get the grill off? Do I have to disconnect the battery? I need this done before an interstate drive in 2 weeks. My 'mechanic' experience is DIY servicing my sewing machineI, however I feel confident and up to learning how to fix my own car. The husband is super handy (has taken apart and fixed motorbikes etc), but busy leading up to the trip and hasn't dealt with this specific issue before. He is encouraging me to get it done by a pro as he can't afford to spend all day fixing the horn and other things that need to be done. The other things I need to sort out are: replacing the plastic surrounding the headlight and indicator. The indicator is currently gaffer taped in place otherwise it falls out. I am hoping I can save money by learning how to fix my car myself.
  20. Hey everybody Im currently in need of a stock or sports Toyota Corolla Sportivo Exhaust. Not the whole system but mainly just for the muffler. If anybody based in Sydney has one in stock and is no longer in need of the exhaust. Please PM me. Admin delete if not allowed. Thanks guys!
  21. Hey guys, Im currently looking for any recommendations on where is the best place to get lowered springs or coilovers for a 2005 Toyota Corolla Levin. I see on Ebay and they go for 1000k+ in which is out of my budget range as which I am only 17. Ive been thinking on getting Kings Lowered Springs for a while but deep in my mind I still want some coilovers. If anybody has an idea or is selling what I need above. Please contact me. Your help would mean a lot! Cheers.
  22. Hi, my Corolla has had this vibration for a couple of months now, which is very annoying. It only happens once I get above 90 KM/h and gets worse the faster I go. At first I thought it was the front tires so I changed them and got them balanced, and it still persists. Had a slightly bad rear driver's side bearing and just thought the problems were related but that was not it neither as I changed it to. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Hi, im having trouble finding the correct rear brake rotors for my 2002 toyota avalon sorrento MCXR10 MARK 2. theirs different sizes for this model and i need help to get the right one. any help will be much appreciated, cheers
  24. The time has come for the family to try a "lifestyle" vehicle. We like the HiLux and D-Max. Does anyone on here have a 2017 SR5? Before purchase did you consider a D-Max? The HiLux doesn't seem to get a lot of respect from motoring writers who all bang on about the Amarok. CarConversation rated it highly though: http://www.carconversation.com.au/reviews/2017-toyota-hilux-sr5-4x4-double-cab-review I welcome your thoughts, the D-Max is considerably cheaper.
  25. Hi guys, I drive a 2007 Rav4. Sadly, I have never taken her to the limit; she's been a princess since the moment I bought her. So as soon as I sort out this stupid radio, it's time to start the muck running! The more the merrier.
