  1. Hi I want to get an upgraded exhaust system for my 95 Camry vienta, but I haven’t been able to find any for it. I was wondering what exhausts from other cars would fit mine?
  2. Hi just bought a 95 vienta sedan and want to put a new headunit in but as I’ve gone to do it none of the wires seem to be matching up. It has become very confusing and frustrating. I would very much appreciate a guide for the colour code of the wires. P.s. I have done many headunits in other cars but none have been as confusing and strange as this.
  3. Alright boys need some advice, I currently own a 95 Vienta and my gearbox has decided to **** the bed on me (again) so I've mad the executive decision of slapping a manual one back on, apart from the obvious manual box, clutch, pedal box from a manual v6 is there anything specific I'd also need, also and tips for getting the job done? I already know just buying a manual one would be easier, but then I'd need to swap my coilovers, exhaust, sound system and all those annoying goodies (plus the car has a sentimental value). Cheers to anyone that can give some advice, also apologies for being "that guy" that didn't search the forum for old topics.
  4. Hey guys I have recently purchased a Toyota corolla 1999 CSI SECA Hatch and want more power under the hood. It was suggested by a friend that I engine swap the small 1.6L engine out for another model/ bigger one from a camry (1.8L - 2.0L) or Vienta (2.0L v6). Being on my P's I'm guessing there is a power to weight limit. Any suggestions with what engine i can fit and what would be legal for me to drive? - Thomas Are there any newer engines that may fit?

    95 Vienta

Thought I'd finally show off the old girl, seeing as I've been a member of these forums for who knows how long. Mostly only minor mods have been done, mostly maintenance and rebuilding. Some of the better and shinier mods are; 18x7.5 RSGT's BC BR Gold Adjustable coilovers Custom made 2.5 exhaust pipe with Magnaflow 2.5 inch dual tip muffler Full granny spec oversized weather shields Apart from that it's had a complete motor rebuild from top to bottom, spent a lot more money on her than I should have and always get asked "but why, it's just a Camry". I just honestly haven't found a car I like that feels as planted as this Vienta does.
  6. I recently found a set of BC Racing coilovers for my 95 VCV10 Vienta, and long story short my car was driven up a considerably steep curb (rear right wheel). Now about a week after this incident, my rear right wheel almost constantly scrubs when cornering, and appears to be sitting a solid 3/4 of an inch lower than the other 3 wheels. I'm wondering if maybe the coilover could have blown? Or maybe bent. I had to raise the rear right to make the car driveable again, but any information I could get would be amazing thank you.
  7. Hello all, was wondering if the forum guru's could help me. Out of the blue the old girl has decided that every time she goes around a right hand corner, it wants to misfire or splutter. It doesn't happen for left hand turns, but also happens under heavy braking. I have also noted that it doesn't seem to happen whilst in Neutral. Things I have tested are: Turning right slowly Dropping a gear whilst turning Placing it into neutral whilst turning (Didn't splutter) If anyone has any advice or may know a fix, let me know please. Has also just had a complete rebuild, if that information is necessary.
  8. Hi guys, My beloved 1996 Vienta (XV10 style/w 3VZ-FE) has finally succumbed to the minor head gasket issue it had by suddenly becoming a big head gasket issue - now.. this thread isn't about that, this thread is about a project to re-use the stereo out of it as a standalone audio player for parties/get-togethers/Drive-thru movies etc.. Whatever I decide to use it for. I did a LOT of online crawling/searching and just couldn't find a model of Fujitsu Ten similar to mine and BOY does it sound incredibly good for the vintage (20 years)! This is coming from a guy whos other vehicle (FG Falcon) has a custom 550W RMS sound system. I'm not entirely sure what kind of RMS wattage it was originally designed for, but it sounds like it might be 150-200W RMS-ish, it does have a six stacker CD player in the boot with cassette-style loading similar to an LS400 (if not the same). I've already got a wiring diagram for the connectors (Bar CD player which doesn't read the CD's so it's being omitted sadly, might add one to it later) - the cassette player is also a bit strange and has trouble playing tapes, it likes to autoflip constantly. Thankfully, I have a Bluetooth Radio transmitter for my music and there are lots of compatible antennas for sale at Autobarn. The thing will have two options for power, 12V AGM battery or AC/DC inverter for those "extended" listening sessions, I'm planning on jumping into JB HiFi or Autobarn/Supercheap to get some speakers from the bargain bin just for now. The wiring loom is available on Ebay and I have the diagrams for other Toyota models but the plugs it has are the same. The battery for now will be my 12V 21ah spare which is part of my solar project, it should power this thing for at least one hour at an assumed 220W draw at peak volume (I think), generally it will probably be between 1/5-2/5 of max volume. Will keep you all posted. Edit: Forgot to mention, I kinda want to mount it all into a storage bin/container of some sort, you can pick them up really cheap and they seem easy to insulate. I was thinking of wood but I just don't have the tools for it. Pics:
  9. Just wondering if I could get advice from the Guru's, looking to get a new exhaust system for my 95 VCV10 and would like to know what information I could receive. Just got a quote on a new cat back system, which would be $950. Would this be worth it, and what benefits would I receive.
  10. Hello. i just got my 97 Toyota camry vienta regisered and after the hour of driving it appears to be missing. With my old cars id make sure the spark plugs were in place after the mechanics worked, with this one i can barely reach the rear spark plugs. the front two i pushed and they clicked in more, too hot to reach the rear ones right now. Is this a good way to proceed? Check the spark plugs and the connectors? i have day one of a new job and i broke the bank to get the car ready so i have to fix this myself. Thank you guys.
  11. Hi everyone I'm new around these parts, The subject line is pretty much the guts of this post. I own an xv10 camry of the "executive twin-cam" variety. The seats are in pretty average condition and have found a bloke selling a full leather interior that came off a Vienta xv10. Will the vienta front+rear seats and door cards fit my older xv10? Cheers
  12. hey people I have a 1996 vienta I am looking to install new head unit but I am having problems with the wiring I have the fujitsu ten cassette and cd player model number 121001-91000151 or the Toyota part number is 08600-00883... it has one large blue plug and one smaller blue plug. CAN YA HELP ME please
  13. I have a 1994 V6 Camry Vienta that overheats on occasion. This will only occur when the car has been idling for a considerable period, maybe 20+ minutes (as in heavy small city traffic), and is particularly likely on warm to hot days (25 degrees+). In addition there is considerable coolant loss through the overflow reservoir much of the time. I have received some advice that this is likely to be caused by a faulty radiator thermostat but I am seeking confirmation on the likelihood of this issue before embarking on a costly repair. Also any advice on the best place to source a replacement part would be much appreciated.
  14. Hi everyone, I just converted my Toyota Vienta 3VZ-FE to run on Sprintgas LPG. I have no idea which kit was fitted into my car. I got a really good deal from a local installer. About $500 out of pocket after the Victorian government rebate. The system installed is a single point vapour injection system. The LPG vapour is fed at the throttle body. I lost nearly half my boot space because of the tank. I didn't opt for the donut tank that some people fit into the spare wheel bay because that would have cost me $300 extra. That being said, I usually only drive by myself or with one passenger. I have the backseat to put all my stuff. The LPG-Petrol switch is located near the fuse box. There was a blank fascia plate which made it convenient for the installer. He didn't have to do any cutting of my dash. Performance wise, you can feel that you need to put your foot down more than usual to get the car going. The low end torque that we love so much about the 3VZ is not there. I found that the power increase is now a much straighter curve towards the higher revs. I think I will need my LPG mechanic to tune my AFM such that I get back the lower torque bump. That being said, I'm used to only revving up to 3k to get off the line to 80kmh which is the speed I usually drive at in suburban areas. Cruising on the highway is no problem at all. I had an issue with the LPG gas causing the engine to idle too low. When I was decelerating from 80kmh, somehow the overdrive/4th gear didn't change up and that caused the engine to stall. Thank goodness I was approaching a red light. Happened another time when I was turning a corner. I brought it back to the LPG installer and he put in a balance line running from the airbox to the LPG mixer. I also decided to change my sparks to the NGK LPG plugs. The loss of low end power was reduced after I switched the spark plugs. I ran my first tank of LPG to zero and then filled it up. It came up to 46.44 litres of LPG. I'm assuming my tank is a 55 litre tank. I am still running on my first full tank of LPG so I'll update you guys on the milelage later on. I'm currently at 200km at the fuel gauge on the switch is showing 2 out of 4 green lights. (red light = reserve). Hopefully I'll get up to 350km from 40 litres of LPG. With an 8cent discount from Coles/Shell, I am about 58.9 cents per litre of LPG. Works out to be less than $25 for a full tank of LPG.
  15. Okay, so I've been driving my newly acquired '96 Vienta Csi and I'm ready to take it to the next level. My main gripe with the car is that the ride is too soft for my liking. It's comfortable going over potholes and bumpy roads, but when I do quick turns and cornering, it feel like an oil tanker. After forum hopping for a while, it seems that a front strut beam and rear sway bar would make a difference at a lower price point. After doing a little digging and visiting autobarn down in chaddy this afternoon, i realised that Whiteline does not make a front strut beam for the '96 Vienta because there is no clearance above the engine; a real bummer. So i'm posting this hoping get a few more ideas re how i can improve my suspension without blowing a big hole in my pocket. A friend of mine recommended changing the stock suspension to coilovers and that should reduce the need for FSB and RSB. I don't have a lot of money to spare so if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share them. (if you could provide an estimated cost as well, that will be awesome) thanks! :D
  16. Hey Everyone! I just bought my first ever car. It's a white 1996 Camry Vienta with 134,000kms on it and I love it to bits. It is my first ever car and so far, it's been an absolute joy to drive. I am looking to improve handling and performance on the car so suggestions are most welcomed! :D Drop me a PM, reply here, it's all good! Here's a pic!
  17. Hi forumers... My 1996 Camry Vienta CSi takes a while to start in the mornings and then there's a shrill squeaking sound which lasts for 1-2 secs. Should I be worried?
  18. Can anyone recommend me a cheap sound system that comes with a headunit? My friend told me that he bought a cheap headunit from JBhifi in Ringwood and that it came with speakers. The people at JB were gonna install it for him but they found out that the speakers wouldn't fit his corolla '86. I'm not looking to spend more than 200 bucks on it. I only listen to classical music so thumping and bass aren't essential. I do however need clarity in the sound. Recommendations?
  19. Hi All, I just bought a 3rd hand 1996 Camry Vienta 3.0 CSi from a private seller. It is due to arrive on Thursday. My deal with him was that I'll pay a really good price for the car and he'll send it in for RWC inspection (and servicing if required). I test drove it and it's all pretty good. The car has only 133,000km on it. Timing belt, spark plugs, distributor, and some other things were changed at 100,000km. As far as I can tell, there were no mechanical problems with it. I did notice that one of the side lights did not fit into the body properly. I reckon that problem is easily recitified with a firm shove. The car comes with a cassette headunit and I am gonna change it to a CD headunit the moment I get the car. Does anyone know if the ECT switch on the auto-gearbox affects the performance by much? I noticed that when I switched it to PWR, the revs are slightly higher and the gear changes are too. However it isn't like an overdrive system on some auto cars I've driven before. It doesn't feel more agile...probably cuz the car is too heavy... Because it's a pretty big engine and a pretty big car, fuel consumption is probably not the best. Is there any way to make the car more economical while also increasing it's peak performance? ECU tuning? engine add ons? Hope you guys can help.
  20. Hi Folks Just a quick question. Can someone please tell me what is the rotational direction of the above Distributor ? TIA ............... SteveScouse
