Hey guys Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with dealing with Toyota for a post warranty claim? My Rav4 2013 had a fuel injector die in April and Toyota called this a ‘rare anomaly’. It cost me $1200 to fix. Now, 7 months later, another injector has broken down! According to my research, injectors are supposed to last a lot longer than 80,000kms (at least 200,000), so I took this up with the Toyota dealership. They took a week to get back to me and dismissed it as an out of warranty issue. Frustrated, I took my complaint higher (through their “Guest Experience” centre) and they are currently re-investigating the case...Though no promises of a positive outcome. Three weeks with no car later (and very little communication from Toyota!) is really starting to affect my opinion of the company. I’ve always raved about Toyota to my friends. In fact, I’ve had 4 Toyotas in a row, all through a Toyota dealership.. and I’ve always serviced through Toyota. I feel an onus is on them to financially come to the party, and acknowledge their product is not up to scratch. I would not be complaining if I didn’t feel this was unfair . Fingers crossed they’ll do the right thing. Otherwise I’ll not be buying another Toyota again.
Hello, First time post and visit to site. After some advice with my Camry issue. I have a sportivo 2009 model that is under extended warranty. The AC has an absolute disgusting smell that comes out of it on starting the car. The smell is then present through the 'trip' just not as strong. The car was serviced recently and the dealer said it appears to be mold in the evaporator and dryer. The service report recommends replacing and sanitizing the system. They attempted to have it put through the extra care warranty department which have refused saying that the system still blows cold air so it is not a warranty issue. So far (over a 5 month period) i have changed filters, emptied a can of Glen 20 and tried the cans you get from car shops. The car smells of the used item for a day or two then its back to the mold smell. AC system drains without issues and serving has only ever occurred through a Toyota dealership. Surely if the car is serviced and had filters changed then there shouldn't be a reason for the mold growing in the internal guts? Can anyone offer advice on how this can be fixed? (without selling the car or costing an arm and a leg) On a side topic. How would i find out what version of AC system is in the car?
Hello Everyone, Been on the forums for a long-time but have been away for a longtime and forgot my last login so decided to create a new one :) Iv had my 2010 aurion zr6 for 2 years and now is in the extended warranty phase through manufacturer not dealer. Went on a holiday and started to notice the following: - Windy noise through the front driver door at 110Km/h - Breaks shudder from 90+km/h and is constant - Black strip on window is cracking/flaking - Dash Creeking and noisy now. My question is im coming up on my 45 months service but my cars driven 48,000k's and want to get the following covered under warranty. According to the extended warranty i have to notify the toyota administration before so they can handle the claim with parts/reimbursements and im planning to get it serviced at non toyota mechanic. My question is: - Should i get this done under Toyota dealership or other licensed mechanic? - How do i start the claim with toyota administration? Do i get it checked by the mechanic first or should i place the claim in first with toyota administration and then after the mechanic has sussed the situation out ? - as to my best judgement the shudder is generally from rotor warping and that is covered under extended warranty? - just get everything done at Toyota dealership this time around as many parts to get replaced? Thanks for the Help!
