Hi all,

Just wondering if you could please advise how easy it is to remove the panel located to the right of the ignition switch for the installation of a button to switch on and off a set of DRLs I would like to install. Picture below:

The DRLs I would like to install can be found at the following link:

The DRLs might turn out to be rubbish but I've already purchased them but fingers crossed, eh? Can anyone also recommend an auto sparky who would be able to do such an installation for me? I've done smaller modifications like installing an analog radio scanner into my dash and hiding the antenna in the A pillar (not the best for reception, but sufficient for needs at the moment), but because this is my first car I'm not particularly keen on doing a mod like this myself.

Cheers.

Those plugs come out pretty easy. They will just pop out. As for the wiring it wont be too hard as it is just a couple of wires. One to power, another to negative and one that runs of to the DRL's so wont be too hard. You will have to let us know if DRL's are any good.

Update: Got them wired in by an auto shop today. Instead of using the switch, they set up a relay with the park lights so they automatically switch off once the park lights are on. Very happy with the setup.

G'day Acid,

Just wondering how you are going with these, have you had any issues with them or?

Considering buying them also, they do look nice!

Cheers

They're still working just fine. Some minor issues with the fitment but that's been resolved by going under the bumper and forcing the clips to stay in place. There's was a little bit of a gap between the top of the DRLs and the bumper itself, but I put some fly screen spline (e.g. like this) in between and it looks perfect now.

Hey mate looks good, almost a factory look.

That was precisely the intention mate! Not a fan of going for anything too out of the ordinary; hence the stock Kluger wheels also.

I was reading through the wiring diagram pdf and noticed they have a DRL output from the main ecu...

Haven't been exploring yet but keen to find out if it's on the Australian models.
