  1. I've been having problems with my 93 4 cyl auto camry. The engine will idle ok, and can take off ok with no pressure on the accelerator pedal, but once I start to put my foot down, the revs will go up and down and it will drive kind of like I can't drive a manual properly. Kind of a no power/power sinusoidal wave. If I put my foot down, it will proceed to rev like this for about 5 seconds before it seems correct itself, and proceed to rev properly with full power. It will also do this in reverse, and I've also run the engine in neutral with the hood up and manually pulled on the accelerator cable, and it still erratically revs. There are no diagnostic fault codes. It seems like a fuel problem, and I've heard of fuel dampers, and whether that would cause such a problem. I can't see anything obviously wrong under the bonnet, and vacuum lines all seem ok. Has anyone come across this before?
