Thank you for your welcome. To continue the story... So, the head gasket's gone (thought it would be). Ex boyfriend (who works for a wreckers yard) says "it's not worth it", but beg to differ. And so I looked online and found this site and am CERTAIN I've found people who'll say it IS worth it - and here's how to go about getting Chrissie back on the road. Hi, I'm Catherine, and I have in my possession (my late parent's) 1985 Cressida. My Mum gifted it to me before she died, but I didn't drive it as I have a company vehicle and I let the rego lapse. My daughter returned from 2 years overseas and, as she needed a vehicle for work, I put "Chrissie" back on the road - not difficult as she always been garaged and Dad was meticulous with her upkeep, and Mum had followed suit after he died. So, long story sorta short, my daughter loves the car, but forgot to give Chrissie what all things need - yup, WATER!! Story to be continued.......
