How much do you fill your kluger?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing for my Kluger. Since day 1, I tend to run the car almost until empty. I usually fill over 50 L of fuel every time. My other thing is that I tend to fill it up to the neck. Usually the pump will jump a lot earlier, so I pull it a bit and then keep filling. Once it fills, I pull it more and keep filling at least 1-2 more litres. So the question is, is this damaging the car or something? should I only fill up until the pump stops? how do others fill their Klugers?

HI calichin, mate I fill my kluger up the same as you, I fill my up to it comes out the nozzel,I had any dramas with doing that I used to do it with my prado aswell no dramas, but when we had our commodore and I filled up to the nozzel it use to have petrol fumes inside the car, the commodore was only car that did though, when I spoke to my mechanic about the petrol fumes in the car he said that was the cause, he said only fill to it first stops, so I only filled it click, but every car after the commodore I fill to the nozzel, I fill our territory the same no problems. So mate unless you can smell petrol fumes inside the car I wouldnt be to worried about filling your kluger to the nozzel.

you other problem of running of you car near empty I personly had any problems doing it , but I hear from a mechanic years ago that letting your tank get right down that your fuel pump sucks up all the sediment and gunk on the bottom and your fuel pump got knowway of cooling itself, maybe thats on older cars im not sure, I have really never had any problems doing that. Mate only way is to have a yarn with your local toyota mechanic or sevice advisor and see what they say.

yep, no issues for me re: fumes or anything like that.

About the fuel filter, yes I heard that before. I'll probably fill it up once the warning light turns on. I've had no problems with my kluger doing this since day one.

Cheers
