  1. Hey guys,

Im needing some help, the girls Celicas waterpump has crapped out for the windscreen washers. Now Im fortunate to have a brother who works for Autobarn however I was told today they cant get them in as they only supply up to 94.

Suggestions were made to go to wreckers and the likes however, you dont actually know if it will or wont work.

Does anyone know where or if anyone has a spare one they would be willing to part with or could direct me in the right place to go.

I am in brisbane but as long as i can sort this out and suprise her thats the main thing.

    Cheers

    BNO.

  2. my sound system sounds bad *****...the train horns are going in another project car later on... im about to do a few minor mods.

    Set of those in 19s

    lowered coilovers

    exhaust

may have procured myself a decent supercharger too.

The rims though are going to have some serious concave and stepped out a bit. Oh and im also looking at getting LED tail lights and projectors too! And possibly a matte black paintjob

  3. it will still be structually sound dont worry about this, he builds hotrods for a living but the problem is you try and fit the housing ofr a K3LA (google that) the bottoms fit ok, its just mounting of the top housing.

I might ring my mate at toyota and ask him, I know alot of performance cars that are street legal run with out them due to their intercoolers falling into place, but their will be gussets in place along with reinforced bits... **** im considering getting a bull bar if i head out west for work so issue will be clearly fixed. Id roof mount but think that might cause some issues, plus i gotta put my HIDS in yet... oh and get a new bumper where some ***** threw a steel rod through my car on the gateway because i was doing the speedlimit.

  4. Hey Guys,

Its been a while since ive posted, been busy with life as usual.

Im about to make an addition to the aurion however, there is an issue with space between the front bar, that foam and that lovely steel bumper bar.

Now, what i need to know is the follow.

    1. If the bar is cut and re modified then have rolled 4mm tube put in its place to harden or toughen the structure will that be an issue.
    2. 2 is the foam a big issue in regards to the front bar.
    3. I cant say what im doing it for yet as its a supprise :D Just wear ear plugs.

    Cheers

    Dan

  5. Hey Dan,

To pin point where the exact leak(s) are without doing actual water test is very hard…

From my understanding of what you just mentioned, your repairer should be covering this under warranty…

    But running ideas possible causes,

    • Sunroof and surrounding seal replaced properly?

    • Air cond piping?

    • Firewall area plugs all there?

    • Is the plenum panel drainage clogged?

    • Was the front windscreen removed? Re-seal properly?

    • Door seal on properly?

    Hope this helps :)

    hey mate :D

No sun roof, firewall plugs are all in from what i can see, ill have them check and inspect the plugs and plenum tomorrow when it gets serviced as well as the air con pipe

well the only time the seals were off were when i had some hail removed, however they were on as normal so :S

the windscreen hasnt been removed either... who knows whats going on but either way its annoying.

    cheers

    Dan :)

  6. Morning Guys,

Has anyone had the issue where the foot wells have filled with water (not alot just enough to wet the carpet).

In the past i had a bottle leak however, over the last 2 weeks my front foot well back passenger well had filled with water, I pulled the car apart let it dry out, put all the seals back on right etc... went for a drive in teh rain yesterday low and behold its wet again...

I know it only started happening when i had the hail dammage removed so im suspecting it could have been the guys that pulled the trim off the roof, but it doesnt explain why its not wet up top just down the bottom...

goes in for a service tomorrow so im going to let the service centre look at it.

    cheers

    Dan :)

  7. The hissing could be the gains on the amps are to high, this causes a hiss of sorts

as for the boot rattle/vibrations you might want to sound deaden the crap out of it...1/4 panels, boot lid, rear panel and some foam rubber strips behind the number plate helps, just keep adding sound deadner until it stops.

    ^this man speaks truth!

yeah, the wing rattles like a bitch! Also, back parcel shelf too! Deaden the boot, lid, numberplate, also underside of the parcel shelf, topside as well! If your rocking low hz tunes you will find it will rattle no matter what... ie at 30hz anything and everything will!

So what you need to do is get deadener STP BOMB (way better than dynamat) line the back shelf with that, and STP gold) speak to drew at northfield moorooka for it he is the only stockist!

  8. BNO how is the performance of the subs location in the boot? Ive been tossing up whether or not to side mount (in similar enclosures to your own) or to keep my dual 12" setup in a sealed box right behind the rear seats. Also does your boot and/or parcel shelf rattle much when the subs are on?

in all honestly, the bass vents through the old holds in the parcel shelf, its tight and sealed. If your free one weekend your more than welcome to organise a time to come and have a listen...

I can't comment for BNO but if I was to add something, it would have to be that having a side firing sub setup would more likely give you a higher dB. I had experimented with various configurations and found that layout to yield better results when seeking volume.

side firing is the way to go to be honest, plus, it comes down to box side and what your trying to go for. See im an sq audiophile (note all my work bar a **** load of sound deadening was done by northfield) but the big thing comes down to final tuning as well.

Im about to upgrade processors from the pxa100 to the h800 which will correct a few things.

ARC on here knows his stuff about sound as he used to work in the audio install industry, but in my opinion and NO PLUG to these guys eihter, ring drew at northfield and speak to him, those guys know their stuff.

Tweeter location in the aurion stock is steller for a 2 way set up, i cant really fault mine at all, only thing i have to fix is a bit of fine tuning with centre chanel to the driver seat not direct centre. it was the only thing that let me down at the last measq comp.

If you got any questions just pm me :)

on a side note, was involved in a minor front on acco yesterday THANK GOD my vip grill hasnt been ordered yet, but i need a new bonnet, and front bar.. god damn hayfever, had a sneezing fit whilst in bumper to bumper traffic. between that and the hail dammage plus work cancelling my contract ending next month its been a **** week. but hey lol.

    cheers

    Dan

  9. Dan theres some links in Aurion FAQ telling you how to but ive also put them below saves you looking.

    Part 1

    Part 2

    Should be pretty straight forward.

thanks mate, i did have a look at it but it was the side bits near the wheel arches that got me a bit confused.

the problem is im going to have to modify some stuff to fit the train horns in the front! But when they are in omg im going to have a hell of alot of fun!

ps side note your rolla is coming along quite nice!

  10. well the coming plans are as follows

    http://www.dynaudio.com/eng/auto/esotar/esotar1200.php

But im also looking at adding 3 more Billet 2200 amps in teh back along with 2 x 4100 billet amps as well to run the 3 ways up front.

However if i had a spare $25k id get a set of Z studios but hey they are made from the bones of dionsaurs and souls of babies...

see that thai set up, sure looks cool, however the way its designed isnt for sq, its purely for show. the splits he has in the boot would be pointless, however his sub box design is quite good.

ill get some up to date pics when i start the new part of the install... it pending on coin considering the subs and splits are going to cost me about $6k all up then the amps probably the same as well.

  11. cheers :D

cal if you want ot make the sound a bit better, get yourself some STP bomb from northfield at moorooka or some stp gold - ****s on dynamat, i used dynamat but until i got this bomb installed (its about 4mm thick) the bass is so much tighter and rattles... what rattles. However its a bit expensive but worth every cent!

im doing some more next weekend on mine, going to finish doing some of the boot as well as the back doors, and if i get a chance might hit some of the floor as well.

as you can probably tell im an audiophile... sure i like things that goe fast, but i get pinned for speeding so i spend the money sound wise :D

until i get the cash for my atom arial (8 month till its in the country - $90k on road BANG BANG )
