  1. Hello my name is Ben I'm a service advisor at Toyota.

    After recently taken an Aurion home to test for 1 night, I share your same opinion.

    The solution to this is to tell the service department to order you a replacement fujitsu model. I can't remember if the original system was Fujitsu model or not. But that model the light is dimmer and not as bright. The only downside is that if its daylight you won't be able to see it, not that I noticed much difference.

    The light should be wired to the common light dimmer unit as all radios have this application at the rear wiring....if this has been neglected it would be a simple issue to splice said wire to the dimmer power. The actual power to the sound system unit is seperate.

    I frequently drive my Avalon up and back to the QLD border from Richmond NSW and cruise within 10% of the speed limit ( an embarrassing lack of points ) and using 91RON get 820KMs or 7.9L/100km.

    Keeping in mind only 1 reasonably hefty occupant and well over 100000 on the clock and total disregard to trip computer as it lies through its teeth...don't even talk about the " kms till empty" as I can get 100kms after that goes off also.

    I am looking at getting a Aurion SX6 so am keen to get similar mileage and the extra horses will give the tyres some work...I can only assume the more efficient the powerplant the more power and hence better economy if driven accordingly.

  3. looking at spark plugs and hear ngk are good.

    i search their catalogue and find for 1zz the "recommended" part is BKR5EYA-11

    this is recommended for the 1zz however there is the iridium "option" of BKR5eIX-11

    then i looked at the plug for 2zz and found the "recommended" part is IFR6T11 however there was no mention of iridium.

    does anyone know is that is right? there is no iridium option for 2zz by ngk? or is that part standard with iridium but i think if it was it would have IX in the code.

    interesting that when i looked at the import being fielder/runx the "recommended" part is the same as the 1zz. error?

    If you look at www.ngksparks.com it gives a different alternative list to the Aust NGK site...I called them and they could not explain....particularly annoying when I bought 6 iridium plugs which are recommended in US but not here?...

  4. Weight kills fuel consumption, simple as that.

    23 litres/100km is probably normal. My V6 Camry (1MZ-FE 3litre) gets around 15/100 in the city and around 9/100 on the Highway.

    Buy a RAV 4 :D :D :D if you want economy.

    My avalon 2002 model gets 11.5 city and 9.0 country indicated on trip computer but when checked by full tank to full tank 10 city and as low as 7.9 country ( within 10% of speed limit)

  5. I have researched the longest life plug and best perfomance option for the 1MZ-FE and Iridium is it from NGK at any rate...when you check the NGK site in the states (they have Avalons and camrys too) they recommend the Iridium plug but these only come in single electrode.

    Under the bonnet of my Avalon it specifically says only use dual electrode plugs why?Camry the same?

    Apparently the iridium plugs are good for 111,000 miles or at least twice as long as the Platinum and to those who have changed the rear plugs you would know why this is as important as perfomance gain.

    any ideas guys?
