Ahh, ok. So I would only be able to gain the auto function on the drivers' door panel and not on the separate doors?
-
yep, it's just the switches that you will need to change. just a case of popping out the door insert, then the switch assembly, disconnecting the connectors and replacing them. too easy.
Ahh, sweet. I'll pop on down to Toyota and find out how much they want for the switches...
Thanks mate! :D

Hi
I have the urge to change all of the power window switches in my 05 Altise to the Automatic ones, just like the drivers window. Does anyone know if this is possible and where I would get the switches(I'm guessing I should ask my local dealer).
I hope that this is as simple as changing the switches out but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more difficult.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Michael

It may seem like a stupid question, but did you remember to plug the aerial back in?
Haha, stupid but very valid. Yes the aerial has been plugged back in. I have tried on several occasions to rectify the problem to no avail.
It's going back.

umm, make sure you have a good earthing point for the unit. I hav a Clarion MAX686BT double din unit but i have never tried AM stations but FM is fine.
Is the antenna a factory printed one?
The handbrake wire if grounded correctly should show image on screen, make sure it is in fact the handbrake wire and not something else.
Double chek all ur connections, make sure theres no shorting.
Other then that, i got no clue
Yes, it is the factory printed antenna. There was a problem with the tinting though- The dealer had metallic tinting installed which somewhat effects the radio quality. But with the factory Fujitsu Ten radio it works fine.
No shorting as far as I can see.

1. You car undoubtedly has an electric/powered antenna.
2. Are you sure it's grounded correctly? Hook it up to the handbrake and see if it makes a difference.
3. Try improving your grounds, don't use the factory one in the loom. Find a nice piece of chassis somewhere and put a self-tapper + ring terminal through it.
The car doesn't have a powered antenna- you mean the ones that raise and lower with an electronic motor?
Yes, it is grounded to the chassis.
I think the seller has given me the go ahead to send it back as I believe it's faulty.

Michael, where did you get your Metra dash kit from? Ive been looking for something like this.
I have just purchased a new dash kit, so if you want mine you can have it cheap. I can't figure out how to get it installed in my Camry properly.

I'm looking for a mounting kit so I can put an aftermarket double din head unit in, but i can't seem to find any. Something like this- http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=ta1467b Anyone know where I can find one?
Thanks in advance!
Hey
I needed one of these too, and just picked one up from here: http://www.aussiedeals.com.au/products/SCO...B-353461-0.html
Hopefully I will get it soon and it will fit my 05 Altise.

it has to be your wiring if it was working fine before it should be working fine now.
I had this problem awhile back and it was my wiring, had to find it out the hard way by pulling everything out and rewiring it all back :(
We have re-wired but it's still not working. I have a feeling something is wrong with the tuner in the head unit... I'm going to put the factory unit back in to make sure the connection hasn't failed somehow...
I have a new wiring harness coming too, so maybe that will help.

Anyone have an idea as to what is going on?? I have discovered that FM radio will work well while driving East-West, but very poorly when going North-South. AM still wont work at all. I'm beginning to think that the antenna connector on the Clarion is a bit dodgy.

Michael, where did you get your Metra dash kit from? Ive been looking for something like this.
Got the Dash kit off eBay. A seller in the US. This the page: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3&viewitem=
Only problem is that it doesn't fit properly, and it is impossible to mount it to the HU and then attach the dash again as the dash kit has to sit on the outside of the factory dash... I'm really not sure how I'm going to get it to fit properly...
No news on the radio reception either. Although, it seems as though it is not connected at all, as FM will only work while driving East-West, not North-South. AM wont work at all...
Anyone got any ideas?

im no expert on car audio systems, but id be checking the wiring and connectors going into the headunit, if the radio was working fine before hand.
Thanks. :). The connections are fine. Very secure. I'm not sure what else it could be. The signal was fine before on the original radio.

Hi
I have just installed(with help of a mate with experience) a new Clarion MAX386VD DVD head unit in my 05 Camry.
I am getting very erratic radio signal on FM and NO reception at all on AM.
Does anyone know of anything I should be looking at to attempt to fix this issue.
I am also having some other issues, which I have asked about in this thread, if anyone is able to help.
I have a Metra dash kit, but I we are unable to work out how to mount it to the head unit and fit the dash back on. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

I would also be interested in a bodykit for my 05 Altise. :)

Hi Everyone,
I am a new user here and have been reading the forums for a while. I recently acquired an 05 Camry Altise. I have since purchased and installed with a friend (with installation experience) a Clarion 386VD double DIN unit. We have it installed and working... mostly. :P
We are having a few small problems which I would really appreciate your help with.
1. The radio signal is poor to average at best. The antenna plug is in tight but it intermittently goes bad and then comes back good. The signal is OK with FM radio but non-existent with AM. My Camry has the antenna in the back window- printed on. Would this affect the signal?
2. We have wired the green hand brake cable to the ground, but we still can't get a DVD picture on the screen. I have read that we must install a small toggle switch inline on that wire. Can anyone confirm this and provide some more details. :)
3. The screen often goes fuzzy, not like static but appears to be shaking a bit(not physically) due to interference or similar.
Again, thanks for the great forum, and I'm looking forward to your answers and getting this head unit working fully.

Changing all Power Window switches to Auto switches

Thanks Danny. I will try the drivers' auto switch in the other doors.
I first thought of doing this after my parents picked up a BMW that has this feature... It's a really handy thing to have I reckon.
