  1. Just wondering guys...

I bought a kit off ebay complete with loom, switch etc. however when I go to mount them (they are exactly like DJKOR's) I find a factory loom with terminations that plug directly into the lights. How good is this I thought but on reflection have yet to plug them in as I am not sure that the car would have the necessary relay etc pre-fitted.

I have a 2008 base model Aurion and was wondering if anyone has been able to utilise the fitted loom or have just used the wiring supplied with the kit? If you did use the existing loom did you need to install a switch?

    Cheers

  2. I highly encourage the DIY option first. It let's you learn more about your car and the procedure itself it really simple. From the advice on the boards, sera709 was able to successfully do the job himself. If you're still stuck, you should rock up to one of the weekly meets. That way you could introduce yourself and at the same time I can give you some assistance.

    +1

I am mechanically inept however the information provided here made the job easy - from start to finish. Give it a go!

Whole job took a bit over 2 hours. Couple of places I got stuck but a quick pm to DJ saw me back on track. Thanks mate :toast:

  3. Fantastic - DJKOR/sera709, guys your explanations and pic's have made it clear what I need to do.

Got the old unit out yesterday by following the instructions DJKOR posted in the other thread.

Cant wait to get the thing going :) Thanks once again!

  4. I was more worried about the reverse camera, I dont have any tools to cut that hole in the boot out. And what about the wiring for it?...

I am also a bit concerned not so much about the fitting but the wiring up...

The cabling as supplied doesn't seem to add up but then I was always a bit slow. Does any power go directly back to the head unit? The way I see it the only cable that would make that trip would be the video feed? What also has me confused is a seperate "Reverse Camera Connection Chart" that came with what I would describe as a diode switch. This shows a power lead from the camera right back to the head unit called a 'reverse checkup'

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Hi All

Got my unit from Auspack last week for...$950!

Have kept an eye on this and another thread for about a month now and it seems most are happy with the unit.

Kudos to DJKOR for his "How to for Dummies" as I will be closely following his teachings in the next week or so.

Expect some stupid questions as time goes on. <_<
