How's it goin people?

I'm looking to make changes in my 7AFE , to try to get the best I can from it :) , so far Air Intake (no pod), spark plugs, ignition leads, possibly newer alternator, extractors, grounding wires, port and polish are on the list, I was curious is it relatively easy to obtain lighter pulleys/ performance type etc, for my engine type? what else would you suggest?

Thanks for helping out, and the meet up was pretty cool , nice to see the newer Sportivos, pity couldn't see some of the rides I was intending to, one of em being SILVABULLIT , he was pretty cool, then there was an Ashley (if I'm correct ) , definately need more ROLLA's there at that time.

Very good projector headlight set.

How the light do?

THanks man, well to be honest I felt the projector light was a bit less (at first) as the globe makes it focus more towards the ground and it spreads less... a little adjustment fixed that up, but what confuses me is that when I have it switched to highbeam only the high beam tubes light up, (low beam turns off :( ) so I'll have to get that checked out.

I'm almost done with my car, I just installed the headlights, thought I'd show how it looks now. I'm proud to say (with due respect to other cars ofcourse , alot of them unique in their own ways).. that I'm the only person with this projector headlight set installed on an AE101/102 series, in Brisbane (or even QLD, as far as I could search no one had them). B)

Hope you like how it looks too. .

so far,

AE102 Conquest 1.8

4 Wheel disc brakes (upgrading to slotted or cross drilled)

CAI (going in, in 2 weeks time)

Clear Indiglo gauges (aqua blue light up)

Platinum Iridium spark plugs

2" Catback Exhaust (just a Zetti)

JDM Tail lights

Port and polish (when I find the right mechanic and $$$)

14" Alloys, (nothing flash, in the process of sourcing Sportivo Wheels)

in audio, I got

Pioneer DEH8650 headunit,

220w Pioneer Split components

260w, 6x9 Pioneer speakers

Not going for amp and sub, considering it goes fairly well without them.

Future plans will be either 3SGTE, or 4AGZE but turbocharged. Will see how it goes, and what the pros reckon is better.

The front end seems to have a fair bit of resemblance with the Mazda6 , what do you reckon ?

How's it goin ? I'm planning to get my engine swap done soon (like mid Feb.) and intend to get a 3SGTE Fwd engine, complete with gearbox, wiring etc (whatever other little bits I need with it). So I was hoping that some of the experts here could suggest where to source one from and how much should I be looking to spend ? (rough idea ? ) also if you could point me in the direction of a good workshop? or someone who's done such conversions (transplanting it into me 97 Ae-101) and "knows" the details..

:o  White Sportivo... eye lids, looked all standard besides that. This was at the intersection on Kessels road.. I was one car ahead of it.. so couldn't really see the plates.. but when it turned right from the lights, we could just hear it launch itself  :o .. all I really remember was a white flash go past... and that my mate was moving out of the lane it was in (LOL!)   (it was like... "get out of the way!"  :o  )

PS. I think it had something like SA XXX ? (didn't get the rest of it  )

LOL someone suggested this and some guys came up with a few ideas for the Australian version... quite funny :D

I honestly don't think an Australian version would work though. Not many dig the car scene over here compared to the States... or should i say not as much. The Australian wouldn't be as entertaining version i would think :)

Not only does it look hot, but the GS300 has more power and even better, we'll be seeing the GS430 in Australia ... now, I must try and find a fella I used to work with, who took me to the drive day for the original GS300 ... I wonder if I can sneak into this one ... ?  :)

Indeed a very nice looking car B) as much as I love this car myself.. its a pity to see Lexus ain't sellin much of these babes :( It's probably the most silent ride there is in the market (from the test drive I had, a friend and I got lucky coz the sales person was busy he gave us the car for 40 min.s to drive around indro.) The acceleration doesn't have a feel to it... and the feedback from the steering wheel was like and I have yet to see one of these in public..

The upcoming IS series should be nice and hopefully sell better..

someone needs to make some LED 'stove-top' style ones

also I read somewhere that like the new Camry here, its still based on the old wide body Camry spec suspension is that true? and that only America and Asia get the Camry with the newer suspension, but over here its just a new body on an old suspension?

Does anyone know if these kinda headlights are available here?

Cheap Corolla

Hi there, I was just browsing the New Zealand autotrader and noticed that a majority of their cars are like japan spec and wayyy cheaper compared to the local ones..

I'm jus curious ,

1) is it easy to impot a car (such as the one in the link above) from NZ here to Brisbane? like cost wise etc, is it worth it or not?

2) has anyone here imported recently ? just so they could give an idea how the procedure is , like smooth or is it a hassle

Where did you get that information from ? I would be verry surprised since diesel isn't hot at all in Japan. So they would make a sport diesel engine just for their oversees market ?

I would be pretty surprised but then again, the new avensis engine 2.2 with 177 horses would be crazy in a corolla. 400 nm's ...

doesn't matter if it's popular at all in japan. these days toyota makes models that are region specific.

Just seeing a topic on diesel Corollas. They've been around for a long time (most of you probably know that already), I had a conversion done back in my hometown for an Ae88 1.3 Petrol to 1.8 Diesel, :) here's a picture of it,
