  1. have you tried to go to Corolla and ask

I am sure they will sell it for you. What happens if someone in a accident that requires fog light replacement

I think you mean Toyota, and yes they will sell you them, but If the price is like the ones for my 08 Kluger $300 each not including the shrouds you wouldn't go anywhere near them.

  2. With the cruise, could do aftermarket but I think the Corolla is not drive by wire is it.....all computerised and would want to try to use the Toyota stalk...my experience with Toyota is they pretty much install it but leave off the switch and maybe one other component....

    hi phoenixrolla

the fly by wire was only installed from 2005 (as i wanted to get cruise in my 2004 rolla) so you cant just plug the toyota stalk in. Best way to go is aftermarket where it attatches to the accelerator cable.

  3. hi guy

I just receive an urgent letter for me to response due to spec of the toyota genuine nudgebar which it require the dealer to fit an extra towing racket. Any one of you receive that ?

Toyota are replacing the studs that the nudgebar bolt onto the front bumper with. In turn the towing hook fits into these studs. They have said that there is an issue with the strength of the studs when towing the vehicle.

  4. Hi all, although not a large contributor to the discussions i nonetheless kept a regular watch over this forum and thank you to all those very knowledgeable folks who often answer questions and provide advice that is almost always correct.

As the heading suggests the Kluger is sold, I went into a dealership over the weekend for a bit of a sticky and let's just say that what started off as a bit of a joke become quite serious when they put a changer-over figure on the table that was too good to let go.

So if anyone or you know of anyone looking for a second hand late '07 KXS-AWD with less than 30,000kms silver pearl in absolutely mint condition keep an eye out on the car sites. Not sure which dealer will end up with it as the car i assume will be wholesaled (if that is even a word).

    Sam

What vehicle did you trade the kluger in for?

  5. Regarding the cost of tow-bar, I was told because the vehicle has LED rear lights, they can't just plug into the lights for the trailer plug but have to go into the loom up front meaning much more time etc.

Back in 2009 i paid $950 for the genuine towbar for a kxr and that has the connection into the wiring loom and the trailer connection (box) under the dash, so i don"t think there is any difference just because of the led lights. This was on the Central Coast NSW. I think it just depends on how much the dealers want to rip people off for the accessories (way too expensive).

  6. Hi Princess

This sounds like my 2004 commodore. The drivers side door solenoid which locks and unlocks the door failed (twice) and required replacing (luckily under warranty). The sound that the car made was to inform you that there is a problem with the locking system and requires attention. Take it to your Toyota dealer and they should replace it. Hope this helps...

  7. hi rjab

i have the front parking sensors (2) and find that they are pretty much useless to me. As they point out on an angle they do not work well for anything directly in front so i find that i never turn them on.

  8. Hi, I have a new transponder key, cut and ready to pragram. Am I able to program "On Board" or does it need to be programmed at the Dealership? This would be so I can have a spare.

The key is for my 08 Kluger KXS. Kind Regards.

    Hi

you do have to take the key to the dealership to have it programmed. Mr Minute may be able to program the key (are able to do many brands), not sure about Klugers though, but they charge the same as buying and programming a new key so no cheaper if you have your own key

  9. Hi Ash40,

How old is your Kluger? Wondering if it something that would have already occured, or if I need to keep an eye out. My KX-R is 18 months old.

    Thanks,

    Snowy68

    Hi Snowy68

My kluger has a compliance date of Nov 2008 so it's only 15 mths old, but i do recall when we first bought the car my wife said that the rear panels looked purple and we thought it was just the light until the other door switch trims started to changed. Also went back to the dealership to look at the new klugers and found the one that our new trims came from (this one had our old ones). They must be hoping that the new buyer doesn't notice (probably what happened to us).

Here is an update on the trim problem, the dealer said a foreign substance had been used on the interior and i had no claim. After many more calls to Toyota Customer Relations and the dealership, i decided to contact the group general manager of the dealership as i was sick of dealing with the "service" dept. After speaking to the general managers PA, not 15 minutes later i received a phone call from the service guy telling me they are going to replace all the affected trims from one of the new vehicles on the lot (i feel sorry for the person who buys that vehicle). It pays to speak to the organ grinder instead of the monkeys. So tommorrow i am going to the dealer to have the trims changed. Here are two photos of the discolouration:

  11. Well i heard back from the dealer today and was told that toyota have denied the warranty claim (what the f***)No explanation given so i contacted toyota customer relations and was told that i have to be given a reason for the denial and that if i was not happy with their answer i could dispute it through them.So now waiting for a reason from toyota's technical advisor (warranties). It's not bad that you purchase a car $40k plus and they flattly refuse to fix a manufacturing fault...will keep you posted.

  12. Hi all

I just returned from the toyota dealer as the interior plastic panels around the power window switches (all doors) and the top of the rear quarter panels in the hatch area have started to change colour, from black to purple. They said they would take photos and send them to Toyota Aust as they do not want to replace them at their cost. They asked me what i cleaned the interior with as they were going to blame it on the cleaning product but i told them all i use is a damp cloth. Has anyone else noticed a change in colour on any part of the interior trim? It seems strange as my car is garaged 95% of the time, so it may be another fault to haunt the Kluger.

  13. Hi Guys,

    I need your help please!!!

I have installed the foglight with no problem.

but I tried to find the wires for the switch. I saw a white connection lable D3 (not D13) with a few wires on it. I guess the light blue and red should be pin3 and Pin4. please confirm if it is right.

    thankspost-10321-1253936553_thumb.jpg

    nokia 6670

the wires are pins 3 & 4 the light gray and orange ones that are seperated on the connector you have shown

  14. i had the same dash rattle mentioned earlier in this post which was above the radio.i removed the centre vents and found the top right bolt that supports the radio and mfd was loose (the washer was rattling).i retightened this bolt and also taped up the extra aerial plug floating behind the radio and no more rattles....so far... :)

  15. Is anyone using a 3rd row floor mat? I would like to get one, but don't think toyota sells them.
