  1. Well, I would have to disagree (partly ;) with you again and we could argue for ever, so briefly...

I do not know how close is your estimate on that 90% parts sharing between x5 & x6, but I agree they attract a totally different buyer since:

"in its intended function the X6 does brilliantly well, handling more like a sports car than a soft-roader. Our test car was aided by optional Adaptive Drive, which combines active stabiliser bars and dampers."

Engine choice for X6 is limited to high performance only unlike that for x5, and so on.

In contrast, venza differs only marginally, and only in an exterior wrapper, particularly against the new RX, with which it shares the interior space and 6-sd g-box, although not 4wd system (apparently).

Performance wise, kluger, venza and rx are virtually identical - same engine choice.

OK, rx typically attracts a different buyer, particularly in Oz because of idiotic luxury tax-linked benefits, i.e., as an ego boosting device (champagne, free service and valet parking at opera) and as a tax deduction benefit highly relevant for a certain group of tax office victims.

Yet, should Venza appear in Oz, with the price advantage evident in the US over top spec Kluger and lexus, many (including lexus-seeking tax "victims") would consider it as an alternative. In my case, you are correct, it would be to kluger, because I have no need for more than 5 seats and would welcome a real middle seat, although a hatch is a minor detractor.

I could probably live with a funny gear stick

    well? :)

Fact is that all car manufacturers share more and more parts between their models for cost cutting purposes.

Some are able to hide it better than others.........

Again, don't think Venza will come to OZ as we are to small market.

    Back to topic..........facelift ?

Maybe 6 speed, indicators in side mirrors.........i just don't expect to much.

    WOW.......

finally i have the real answer...facelift Kluger.....but when?

personally i don t think Venza is the replacement.but if the facelift have 6 speed and side indicator mirror.i will be at the Toyotadealer the next day to order one......it will look awesom

thankyou for all advise and idea.

    keep me update

    i

  2. Probably not a good idea asking as I guess some people are tempted to perhaps not be totally honest about the $$ they pay... but we've been quoted $66k for Grande AWD with Metallic on the road. Only option is front and rear parking sensors. No mats, sidesteps or any other options.

My question is simply: Is that a good price? I know this is less than RRP (but who pays RRP ayway). I don't know why but I just feel like I'm paying over the odds

i got 21%off so i pay $49.500 onroad for brandnew kluger grande....but u have to be toyota employee....it quite an advantage sometime

  3. Hi All,

i recently order new Grande Kluger (crystal Pearl) 09 model

currentlyi owna 08 model In black (to keep it clean, it was a nightmare)

dealer say will arrive late March....with the facelift model.....anyone know what facelift could it be?

  4. Laden ground clearance is 147mm according to mazda.com.au. Not sure abt unladen clearance.

True its a shame that the CX9 lux does not come remote engine start as in US, but i was just saying the flip key looks good.

I think takahashi made a good point in the other thread abt the CX9 is more suited for city use (part time vs constant AWD in Kluger being another reason), while the Kluger has a bit more talent when the road gets rougher.

If one is looking for a people mover with no or little intention on going rough with the car.. the CX9 should be the one to go for as it carries 7 adults in total comfort. There is no surprise here as the CX9 is a bigger car (overall length: 5074 vs 4785mm). Yes, the 3rd row in the CX-9 are two cushy seats that split. This is different in the Kluger that has a single flat bench. Iam also impressed by the side and curtain airbags in the CX9 that stretches all 3 rows, while the Kluger only has the front and 2nd rows covered.

Vehicle merits aside.. Mazda tend to have better resale value too as there are less fleet..

I bought a Kluger KXR AWD because I couldnt afford the Mazda :( ...

Love the new light on the miror..is that side indicator light?and is that will come to Australia as the 2009 model?
