  1. How do we check whether we have the same problem if the event hasn't occurred yet?

    Gettin worry now..

my presara was totally soaked after a recent storm , took it to toyota end eventually ended up gettimg the carpets and hood lining replaced. but not sure how all that water will effect the electrics and sensors later on down the track. the drain tubes have now been fixed and havn`t had any problems since.

my advice would be to leave your car out in heavy rain ,check for leaks , if any get to a service dept before it dries out, take plenty of pics for proof. a lot of the time they book you in days after you ring , by then the carpet dries out and they claim they can`t find any problem.

  2. Thanks Gnome

The car is great so far! im very impressed!

Yeah i want to find out about that toyota link bizzo. So i just push the toyota link button and have a yarn do i? does it cost anything?? if so how much?

So far i have swapped the intake hoses round and am looking for a K&N panel replacement filter, I wanted to do the coilover swap but kinda dont want to now as it rides so nice!!!

Am yet to get photo's of it as im too busy driving it! Sorry.

    Cheers

    Richard

toyota link is a free service for the first 3 years and since the presara hasn`t been around long enough, they havn`t set an annual fee yet. there are 2 buttons , one is a distress mode and the other is simply like a direct phone link to a service centre. they can track your position via satelite technology, this is very handy when your car is stolen, they ring your mobile if the vehicle is broken into then notify the police , track the vehicle till police are on scene and then immobilize the engine. how cool is that. that is what sleep mode is for. you contact toyota link via your link button , lock your car when you`ve finished driving for the night . any entry into the car during the night is detected by toyota link and you get a phone call to check that everythings a ok. how smooth is the ride and handles quite well for a prestige car eh

  3. Thanks Guys

Yeah it was at a good price.

Cant wait till saturday when we pick it up.

    Now to start modding it!

Will get some pics when i get it

congratulations from a very satisfied presara owner, remember to fill out the owners transfer form in the service manual and send it to toyota, helps a lot when getting vehicle serviced and for warranty purposes. only problem i`ve had is water leaking into the cabin through the drain tubes from sunroof, several presaras have had this problem . also push the toyota link button on roof console to sign up for toyota link : fantastic service. you get to put your car into sleep mode each night.

  4. we have so much to do down here we don't hang out with each other coz we are so bored with where we live.

are you kiddin i`m proud to live anywhere in australia even if i`m a true blue queenslander. every state has something special on offer especially tassie. and i didn`t see any space for presara owners to vote

  5. There is a common problem with the passenger front sunroof drain tube not being connected at all. If any damaged has been caused by the leak, it will be covered under warranty providing the vehicle is still in its warranty period.

    thanks Josh

sent car to dealer , they`ve sent a memo to toyota australia to have carpets and hood lining replaced but hasn`t been approved yet. problem was a detached drain tube. probably happened when sent to previous dealer who had a look but said they had no idea what caused leak. it is apparent the quality of workmanship varies throughout dealerships i should ask forum members to name and shame poor quality dealerships so everyone gets quality service.

  6. IMO, all the listed problems are happening only in small amount chance.

there is a few people(3~4(?) from this forum) reported about camber (pulling left) issue and that can be solved with the kit easily.

I've never heard about remote not working, I think that's because of the remote battery? Maybe..

I am not sure about keyless entry because I own a SX6 which doesn't have the keyless entry.

Dash rattles are being common all across manufacturers anyway...

I've seen 1 case of sunroof not working properly but it was faulty one with the sunroof.

    Some said sunroof rattles too.

All the listed problems can be seen from any of manufacturers and I don't think the chance of having those problems are high.

IMHO, buying a car is like ramdom picking. It's all about your luck.

If you're not lucky enough, you could pick a lemon car and having a headache or if you're with normal luck, you won't have any problems for the life of the car.

I have no idea about Mazda6 and Holden but IMHO aurion is quite good deal in that price range.

had the chance today to test drive the presara . I`m sold drives and feels great.! but i did notice that within 6 secs the car pulled to the left and the road was pretty flat.sunroof worked well. sat nav was great.

they did have a trd with 7000 k`s on it . black- sunroof- sat nav and the full sports pack. a simply stunning car. very tempted to buy.

  7. the camber issue is widespread across all aurions, but there is a fix kit you can get that solves the issue. other general problems ive heard is dash rattles and vibrations which can be fixed after constant nagging at your dealer. apart from that, theres the odd issue with transmission gear glaring when cold, piston slap, etc.

i quite like the styling of the new mazda 6 :)

that`s what makes the choice so difficult ,mazda 6 looks good and no one seems to have major complaints, calais looks excellent , great interior space including boot. good dash layout but according to all the specs the presara is head and shoulders above in performance and features ( provided they all work) Reliability is more of a key issue in making the right choice.

  8. i`ve nearly decided on buying the aurion presara soon , but have heard of a few problems .the other contenders are mazda 6 luxury or holden calais. i know calais has lots of problems , but they do look good: havn`t heard of any problems with mazda 6 as yet. --problems that i`ve heard of consist of key remote not working, sunroof issues, the sat nav system, the rough ride because of low profile tyres and recent post camber issues. are these prolems only happening to a small amount of cars or are they accross the board.

I like my luxy but is there room for a presara .

love to hear from fellow toyota owners : is the presara worth it.
