Driving habits that ***** me off
1) Going X km/h in an X+20 km/h zone
2) Failing to indicate when merging
3) Failing to indicate when changing lanes
4) Failing to indicate when turning into a sidestreet
5) Failing to indicate when entering and/or exiting a roundabout
6) Actually indicating when turning into a sidestreet but leaving it until they are _actually_ turning
7) Turning into a sidestreet but not pulling over into the shoulder/turning lane fully, thus making the left-hand lane slow to a crawl for no reason
8) People who can't keep left
9) People who sit side-by-side on the speed limit on a two lane road with little other traffic, FFS slow down or speed up and get in the left lane
10) Failing to turn off indicator after making a gentle corner
11) Driving with fog-lights during daylight/non-foggy hours
12) Driving with HIGH BEAMS on during daylight hours/at night in traffic)
13) Tailgating

The list goes on. I probably see 80% of that list every single day on the way to and from work. I swear Newcastle drivers have got to be close to the worst in the state, if not the country. And before Sydney people say that their drivers are worse, come up here and experience Newcastle drivers.....you'll be surprised how curteous and skilled the average Sydney driver is in comparison
I never indicate when leaving a roundabout...if I'm going left or right I will but other wise nope... are you ment to indicate when going straight?? dosnt make sense.. I always give way to my right on a roundabout...

KEEP TO THE LEFT!!!!!!
And i wish people would learn how to merge...... And just concentrate on what they are doing, because after all we drivn 1500kg killing machines.
Your license is not a RIGHT its a PRIVILEGE....

come on guys... how hard can it be.. when you are getting ready for work and you know you have 3-5min before you leave..you pick up your keys walk out side and start the car and then go back inside and continue getting ready.
When you come out the ice or frost is gone the car inside is warm and the car is warm and ready for the drive to work... :D
-
Well I say let it sit there for 2 - 3 minutes. Until the revs come down to about 1,000rpm. If what they say in the manual is true then you should turn your car off when sitting in traffic or at a set of traffic lights... isn't that the same as letting your car idle???
Here in Picton it gets to any where from -1 to -7 in winter. So when I'm getting ready for work every morn I go out at 6:30 and start the car put the heater on full blast on the windscreen to melt the ice off and put the rear demister on and then leave at 6:35, 5 min later. The ice is melted the car has warmed up and its nice and warm inside.
I don't care what anyone says I will always let my car warm up first before I go anywhere.. How would you like it if you didn't get a chance to warm up and had to do a 5 km run with out warming up? :D (I love my lux)

Thks for that. Next oil change which is in 3000kms time I might try that type of oil. But in winter time and where I live it gets to below zero..anywhere from -1 to -7. So do you think I should stick with the 10\30?
Tiger headers you say? Well with one little one running around and the wife with a second in the oven I don't think parting with $1200 will go down to well for a full exhaust system. :P
thks again... :D
Anyone?

Thks guys,
Yeah I'd love to copy him...but i think i'd like to super charge..love the whine..

thks for the warm welcome... :D :D :D :D

Hi guys & girls,
I've got a couple of questions for you.
I own a 99 4WD Toyota Hilux 2.7Ltr SR5 and have owned it for 4 years and it currently has 220 000 ks on it and still going strong , My wife and I love it and couldn't ask for a better car.
Right now for the questions.
I have been thinking of getting some extractors\headers for my car and have found Hurricane headers. The person I spoke to also advised to replace the muffler for a more free flowing one. All up it is going to cost $600 which sounds pretty good to me. Has anyone had this done to there Hilux and if so was there a difference in power and fuel consumption. Good or Bad?
The other question is about engine oil. I have been running 10\30 Nullon engine oil for a while now and have found it to be really good. I have tried 10\40 a number of time also but found that the car didnt like it to much. Is 10\30 the recommended oil? and what are YOU people out there in FORUM WORLD using in their Toyota Hilux's?
Thks B) :)
