  1. Hey guys,

looking at getting a Cat back system Varex on my sportivo this weekend.

I was searching up on some old threads and alot of people are using 2.5" systems.

Now I've been to about 4 exhuast shops and each 1 thinks that a 2.5" system is too big on 1.8L..

should i still press on and get a 2.5"?

Also is there alot of greater advantage of a mandrel bent system over press bent?

And will anyone with a varex like to share stories or more specifically if the noise output is close to standard when in quiet mode? and how much?

    cheers

  2. NRG, i think you missed the point of Fads post. The ecu senses when the oil is warm enough, and then once the engine reaches 6000rpm it triggers oil pressure to push a pin out to "lift" the engine onto the high cam

ohh i was kind of thinking that we would have a solenoid that is activated by the Ecu when the settings are right

    e.g. Rpms, oil temp etc

then to which the solenoid open up an oil passage that allows oil pressure to be applied to the pin to which engages the high lift cam?

lol might sound intimidating but always wanted to know how it works in our cars as it is a very similar system to vtec

  3. thought i saw the lift solenoid last time i took my engine cover off..

just a thought that possibly the ecu is connected to an oil temp sensor to which then the ECU recognizes a warm oil temperature

and engages lift only when this oil temperature is high enough and when u hit "WOT"

otherwise if it oil driven lift would always be activated wen the oil is warm enough

  4. haha yea the car was serviced well i think....

not too sure on the thrashing side..but everyone will say they dont thrash their cars

i'll ask him if he can contact u via msn or sumthing

but i can tell that ur worried haha

he was asian and he was 18 or 19 wen he got the car

some personal reason i will not saling bosch hid kit anymore. start on oct.

i had my own named hid kit for sale from now on . and comes 18month warranty. the price i put in my shop is $239.

the ebay shoo price will be $135,

first month promot price is $120 for pick up only.

  6. hey guys

i was recently talking to this seller because i wanted to by a set as well

i live quite close to him and allows pickups but

he has told me that he no longer sells the Bosch branded ones

and now sells his own brand:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Oz-Gear-Super-Visio...0QQcmdZViewItem

so i'm not too sure what is happening with this guy?

will be happy to join u guys if u get the bosch ones

    cheers

  7. i currently have an 05 sportivo with about 35000 kms on the clock

i've had this problem with my gearbox where in the morning on a cold start.

In the first 5 mins of driving if i want to shift back down to 2nd to take off again,

it feels as though there is alot of resistance in letting me put it back in.

i try to nudge it into first and still wont let me put it in (at less that 5km/h).

i have to come to a complete stop to put it into either 1st or 2nd gear

after it warms up everything is smooth

i was told that the 2005 sportivo's had the clutch problem fixed already?

could it be the clutch plate or otherwise?

hope to get something out of warranty for this

    anyone else have this problem?

    cheers

  8. Spotted a silver facelift sportivo this morning playing with me in traffic on the way to the city, plates like BAZ** or something else i can't remember lol

hahaha i will own up to that one..

saw a dropped corolla with p plates...couldnt tell if it was a stivo coz u badged it at the rear

so had to take a 2nd look haha

and it all went from there... nice car mate.. lowered perfectly! hoping to drop mine soon

    was a fun drive!
