  1. probably everyone mate ..... however as stated .... no need to go bragging on the forum as ur pretty much signing a confession ....... Thanks for the heads up... I agree in retrospect, my openness was ill conceived. I would have pulled my head in right at the start if I had been told 1st up instead of the merciless tirade by Carlo and his nodding bricks! :) At any rate, boasting about exploits was not my intent in the post, the emphasis was created by others. My previous posts have been edited to better conform. I just wanted some advice on the cars behaviour from a technical Corolla specific side, not from a driving style aspect. As I said in my original post, Tsuchiya noted this trait as a scary peculiarity of the RunX that other models been tested did not have. So far, no one seems to have any answers. Regards Chris PS. GT4 is a good safe training tool, but is no substitute for the real thing. Nuff said.
  2. Thanks for the tip! I do practice a fair amount in GT4 and will try the fwd oversteer. But personally I prefer to set up a neutral attitude IRL with the car as much as possible. My Stivo with just the exception of the said gremlin handles very neutral and very adjustable with the throttle, (lsd helps a lot.) When I grow up and get a Porsche 911, I will start playing with oversteer on a track as per the naysayers. Back to GT4! ;) Chris
  3. Cool! Can we now get back on the topic... otherwise we can start another thread on road safety nazism and I won't have to be preached at cos I won't be reading it! :) Chris
  4. Lighten up!!! Chris Chris, If you've had the pleasure to meet Carlo, u'd learn to find that he is a top bloke, with a world of knowledge. Please refrain from below the belt comments. He may well be... but in my opinion his rant against me was uncalled for, and my response was to his own below the belt comments : "I couldn't give a sh!t if you kill yourself, because one less idiot in the world is great, but don't take someone else with you." Lets leave it a live and let live. Regards Chris
  5. Yes it leads to unnecessary injuries and/or death. I'm simply expressing my own opinion so back off. R U a coppa? You sound like one of those self righteous under brained traffic cops. Have you seen what happens to the human head after a high speed accident stupid? I hope you never have to. Grow up, if you really want to be testing your (lack of) driving abilities take it to a track. Ok... so if you can take a moment to take a break from your breathless diatribe and pay some attention, I will make a few relevant points 1. I live in the country, so I have a choice of underutilised back roads that only lead to a few farms, are sealed and I slow down for any blind corners where I do not see oncoming traffic. 2. I have had 1 speeding fine in 7 years, basically speeding where there is no traffic and no cops! 3. the nearest racing circuit is 500km away. As far as trauma, maybe you should keep your preaching to yourself. In my line of work I see all sorts of minor and not so minor trauma. And I have seen enough photographic images from my mate who is a forensic odontolgist to give most nightmares. My driving skills are well above average... and no I will not challenge you to blah blah blah. If I have an off... it will be me meeting the scenery... not another road user. My post was to talk about the handling of the car... your post was an unwelcome rant. As far as weight transfer... well DUHHH! It is the suddenness of the transfer that should be able to be tamed. Live well and prosper Chris Only a trd rear sway bar and front strut brace Regards Chris Hey! I brushed the brakes to reduce a bit of understeer, not to slow down. I agree tho that braking should be completed b4 corner entry. Regards Chris
  6. Thanks for the response guys! Spectacular off... though I caught it both times before the rear swung around. The feeling I got was that the front end bit in and pulled the car more into the corner than the rear letting go. The solution is to wind off a bit of lock and apply some power. I still think that it is something to do with suspension geometry that may be able to be tamed somewhat with changes in suspension bushes, sway bars, spring rates, etc. Any thoughts? Chris were u going around the bend at close to 180km/h when u caught it?
  7. Hi Guys, I have had the trd shock and coil kit for about 6 months. I also installed the trd front trut brace and trd rear ant roll bar. The suspension is as firm and as low as I would want for day to day usage (ie. speed bumps etc.) As to ther handling, it really grips and goes with no real understeer. The handling is very neutral and adjustable with the trottle to cancel out understeer (the lsd helps there a lot.) I am thinking about installing a rear strut brace also. BTW is there a lower front strut brace available to help further stiffen the body? Regards Chris
  8. Far out! That is expensive install!! I had new struts and coils, plus a CES catback exhaust installed for $330! Regards Chris
  9. Hey! Is the data programmed into the power fc able to be downloaded onto a laptop and then transferred into another power fc? If this is possible, then may it not be possible to specify a minimum induction and exhaust mod specification eg. CAI, CES exhaust and possibly extractors so as to standardise the engine that the tune is performed on, and then post a faq on how to diy the install of the power fc on the forum. Possibly a slightly more conservative tune than Northy with the possibility of having a tuner do the final tweaking to get the max out of it. The tuner in Sydney could at a price upload the data onto the power fc and then off you go! Chris
