  1. Sandshoe,

Any chance of getting some pictures and a description of how you are going about installing the break controller & aux power feed.

Are you running the wires the same way as the wiring harness for the tow bar? Where are you going to end up putting the brake controller & which type?

    Cheers

  2. Hi all,

We have a 2009 SX6 RAV4. Question I am hoping someone can answer. The wife was taking the Tom Tom off the front windscreen and unfortunately the mounting bracket broke and a small spring has fallen down the air vents used for demisting the windscreen.

What should we do and can it cause any damage???

    Her's hoping not.

    Cheers mmm

  4. Rolla Boy thanks for the reply. What is the go with installing a brake control system? How is the blue wire utilised? Does a seperate wire have to be run from the front of the car to the back or can the brake control unit connect into the front somewhere that is the wireing harness installed as part of the genuine tow bar system? Hope this makes sence.

  5. Hi all.

I have just purchased a new RAV4 SX6. One question with the moonroof is there any way to make it automatically close when the car is locked? I constantly check but just know that one day the wife will forget. Of course I would never forget.

  6. Hi all. Loving our new RAV4 SX6. One question with the moonroof is there any way to make it automatically close when the car is locked? I constantly check but just know that one day the wife will forget. Of course I would never forget.

  7. c32kompressor,

Not 100% sure but like all genuine parts it was more than after market. I think it was about $850 or so. In saying this we did look at other after market ones such as the ECB and ARB but the wife prefered the original as she liked the black rubber on the top bar it has RAV4 stamped in it. I liked the added bash plate underneath myself that the others didn't have.

  8. Thanks castr10 & DJKOR

Have just been told that our car SX6 arrives in country this week. Then upto 10 days to get through customs and equipped. Should have it by 08 Jun 09. Man I hate the waiting game.

  9. Yet to get our SX6. Should be here by the end of the month I hope. We will be towing a camper trailer weighing around 700 kg fully loaded. Will be getting a pop top caravan in the next 18 months. This should weigh approx 1500 - 1600 Kg fully loaded. Interested to hear from others who tow such things.

  10. Hi all,

Waiting on the arrival of our new SX6 in a couple of weeks, can't wait.

I have a question for others. I will have roof racks on as I travel with a malibu surfboad on top. Will I have to remove the radio antenna or does it fold down out of the way as from what I can see in the pictures it seems to be right in the middle of the roof at the rear of the car.

  11. Hi all new to the forum.

Have just ordered the RAV4 SX6, is due to arrive at the end of the month. It is for the wife and we were looking around second hand but very hard to find. In the end she nagged enough and we bought new. Unsure if we have done the right thing but we think we got a good deal considering the trade in we got for the old Ford Escape we had. Hope we will be happy with the new RAV4, have never owned one before.

Any way just got a quote for the Hayman Reece Tow Bar 1900 kg and from what the place said it came up on their computer as not needing a seperate wireing loom. The sales lady said she will check this out. Can anyone tell me if there is a seperate wireing loom required?
