  1. Sorry Guys this is not typical toyota question .

Q1 -whats the difference b/w Ford Escape XLS and XLT?

Q2- Does XLS mean 2WD always? and XLT 4WD always?

Q3- What is special about Escape limited?

I have a very limited knowledge about cars and now I am planning to spend 13k-15k to buy a 4WD SUV Escape , i like the "escape " shape.

I am nervous and trying to do all due dilligence to make sure I am doing the right thing.

Q4-I have seen heaps of Ford terriotry on melbourne road but not even 10% of Escape , just wondering is there any knows issues people generally do not go for escape. heaps of RAV and CRV though.

Q5 - How would you rate Escape in terms of overall car from 1-10 ( 1 is very low) as compare to RAV4 and Honda CRV

Or my observation is completely wrong about escape.

    thanks

  2. Guys

I wanted to buy a 4WD from a dealer which is in very good condition but cheap bcoz of the following 3 reasons

    1- No Rego

    2- No RWC

    3- *** Front Diff Noise"

    my question is

RWC may not be too expensive as the car looks good but I have no idea about "front diff noise" , what is this thin? first of all , secondly how much max i should expect in order to fix this issue.

    thanks

  3. If you check your service book it will tell you when to change the timing belt. Mainly it's a certain kms and time (from memory it's 100000km or 10 years). Tyres have a wear indicator on the water channels. I would replace the tyre even before the level of rubber is level with the wear indicator because you would most likely be aquaplaning when it reaches there.

    thanks for your response

The car I am looking at the moment all are 10 years old and got around 180k + kms . Looks like i must need to ask about the timing belt details at the time of the deal otherwise i must need to get it changed immediately after the purchase.

    pls comment

    thnx

  4. Hi Guys

I am zero in car domain. I got 1988 Hatchback corolla AE82.

Last week i had a problem that car was extremely heat up while i was driving and i realized that coolant was drained out .

the mechanic spotted white fumes in the engine oil filler cap , which hit him to check the fan which in reality was not working and he fixed the fan problem.

he said to monitor the water level in the radiator for 2-3 days , if it drastically drop then its something urgent otherwise OK.

I am checking water level which is not dropping for last 2 days but I noticed there are still white fumes in the engine oil filler cap, can any one tell me what is this and why ?

    thnx
