Hi, the unit has broken already !!!! - The DVD and CD no longer works!!!
Sorry to hear this. very interested to hear how things go.
Good luck

Thanks for that.
I bought this one (but added $100 for TV) from Ebay:
8" LCD DVD GPS PLAYER FOR TOYOTA HIGHLANDER KLUGER
GPS NAVIGATION+MAP, AUX-IN, BLUETOOTH SD USB MP3 FM
Winning bid: AU $480.00
+ Postage: AU $69.99

It took 3 weeks to arrive from HONG KONG - Even though it says QLD on the listing. However, the item is great, good sound and picture quality. I am happy with it. Toyota wanted $3,000 + for the factory one! - The car looks much better and is like Grande inside now. Cheers, :)
It looks nice.
Does it have IPod integration?

The only special tools needed are some nylon pry bars - I bought a nice bright orange set from Jaycar for $25 - you couldn't do the install without these.
Kind regards
Hado
Doesn't sound too hard, I think. Thanks Hado
Can you tell me where you bought it from and how much it cost?
Cheers

Thanks Hado,
Sounds really promising. Not sure I'd install myself. The mic sounds a bit tricky and I need some special tools I guess?
Look forward to the next update.
Cheers

Hi terminator1,
Can't wait to see the pictures. I've got loads of questions, sorry. I really want to get one asap.
Can you tell me how much it all cost? Head unit, install, head rests, etc.
Do you do any of the work yourself?
Where did you buy from?
How good is the navigation and maps? Speed camers warnings, map updates, etc.
Does it play avi and divx? From dvd and USB or SD slots?
Did you get the steering controls all to work?
Does the bluetooth work?
If you have an iPhone how well does it intregate, charging, songs, video, contacts?
Apologies again for all the questions, but it will help me so much.
Cheers

Do driving lights connect to the high beams or do they use a seperate switch? Sorry for my ignorance.
The switch for my driving lights was supplied by toyota and is shown below. The spare auxilary panels are smaller than a standard switch.
Thanks for the info Kesawi.

Any more technical details such as formats and integration with dash unit? They certainly look nice but I've burnt all my dvds so I'm looking for something that will play divx or avi.
Rapper these are only monitors and have no playback functions,;however, I want DivX playback as well.
Sorry, I didn't understand that. Thankyou for explaining. So would these be able to connect to the dash unit you are looking into? If I could control the monitors from the front that would be ideal. I've got two young kids.
What I really want is to be able to play avi or divx files straight off a portable usb drive. If that's not possible then from a usb memory stick or iPhone.
Can any of them display digital TV?
I think I might be asking for too much?
Cheers

I would really like one of these. From the website http://www.flyaudio.us/for-toyota/highlander it looks like you can add a couple of display headrests to keep the kiddies happy and it will play avi files. DIVX would also be nice.
Please keep updating this thread on availabilty and compatability.
Cheers very much.

My 2 month old KXS AWD gets a dreadfull rate, 17-18L/100km. All city driving and its quite hilly around here (eastern suburds, Sydney). I'm trying really hard to drive like a 90 year old but it makes no difference. I'm thinking about asking Toyota if there is a problem. Any thoughts?
Not what I was expecting :(
