  1. I dunno man, not sure I'm a fan TBH. With the first couple of shots in this thread it looks promising, but with these new shots on caradvice and so on..... eh......

Maybe if the sportivo ones where lowered a bit it may add to the look, the presara looks kinda cool, but the sportivo definately needs to be lower.

  2. Being the Aurion fan I am, I have managed to obtain some facelift aurion photos..... See attached images....

    I have reached a 9.77MB limit for image uploads so I could only get this one up;

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...st&id=10784

I dunno, I'll hve to set up photo bucket or something to put the rest on.

"Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."

I can not access the file?? even I login already

    Fixed...

Thats all I have atm, still waiting on more from my sources or for Toyota to release a press kit.

  3. I'm in the market to buy an Aurion; going to convert from Falcon to as i've driven quite a few Aurions and do love the drive.

My wife off-loaded her 06 XR-8 to get an 07 Presara - bad call. Leaked through the moonroof, internal lights fell out, wheel hops under heavy acceleration - what a fizzer. I much preferred the Falcon (except in the wet)

Offloaded it for an 08 model - not much better.

Just tried to get her an 09 TRD but have been told they are no longer available. She has been told that the 09-10 Presara will be better but $5K extra.

I wish they were not so boooring.

Anyway, each to there own. She drives what she wants (as can you) As long as I drive what I want, life is fine.

Couldn't agree with the highlighted statement more. Sounds like you're wife got some pretty dud Aurions, did she consider buying from someone trust worthy? She may also need to lay off the accelerator a bit, maybe get some new tyres. My dad has had an 07 Presara since brand new with not a single issue to date, it's the whole reason I am looking to get one of my own (most likely a ZR6) when circumstances permit.

Toyota's are generally very good, reliable, solid cars. It's very unusual for you to have such a bad experience, especially two cars in a row.

  4. I just bought Corolla mats from Phil Gilbert Toyota $75.74

thought it was quite cheap for a genuine set! :D

and for 05 Sportivo front bumper got quoted $315 [unpainted]

and the bloke says additional $200-250 to get it painted Black  quite expensive...

im not sure if the guy was talking abt sportivo bumper though/

Yeah I just got off the phone to Graham Werner Toyota and they told me the price I got from Brighton Toyota was incredible and they cant quote me anything near that (nearly $2,700 just for parts).

  5. Epically OVERPRICED :o

don't get Toyota to Paint or fit it for you...

ok, so i must have got a pretty good discount... i got the front, sides and rear for 1060 unpainted... it seems yours will set you back 1500 Unpainted :o

Painting for me was roughly 120 each piece... INCLUDING fitting :o

    It's your choice man B)

    Evo

It's not so much a "should I ... will I?" as it is a "where the hell am I gonna make that cash." It will happen, I will get these parts, it's just a matter of when / how. I'll call some more local dealers however most of the dealers around my place are all flashy and over-priced.
  6. I just got quotes today from Brighton Toyota for the body kit;

    Front & Side Skirt

    • Front Spoiler - $560.00
    • Side Skirt Kit (2PCS) - $470.00
    • Painting And Fitting - $400.00
    • Subtotal (EX. GST) - $1,430.00
    • GST - $143.00
    • Total - $1,573.00

    Rear Skirt

    • Rear Lower Skirt - $470.00
    • Painting And Fitting - $200.00
    • Subtotal (EX. GST) - $670.00
    • GST - $67.00
    • Total - $737.00

Are those prices decent? I was hoping for about $1,200 for the front & side and $500 for the rear.

  7. This thread will be about my 05 Corolla Ascent Hatch's journey from what it is now, to what it will be in probably several months. See my planned mods in order of first to last.

    Planned External Mods:

    - TRD Badge to replace Ascent badge (Coming from Taiwan)

    - Sportivo Body Kit Pt. 1 (Front & Side)

    - Sportivo Body Kit Pt. 2 (Rear)

    - Alloy Wheels (Don't know what kind yet)

    - Slightly lowered (Unless it's stupidly expensive)

    - Slimline Custom Plates

The *Before* Pictures: (Sorry it's not clean)

  8. Hey mate, are you after a PROPER body kit that replaces your current bumpers... or just a LIP kit?

I have the Sportivo kit fitted to mine, it does the job fine... but the prices for such parts do vary a lot.

    Evo

I would suppose the thing I'm looking at for $700 is a lip kit, as it looks like it just slots on over the bottoms of my current bumpers. I'd get a good body kit for a good price, Are the sportivo kits expensive? I know how Toyota and probably any car manufacturer would charge quite a bit for that stuff after market.

  9. unless youre made of money (and can afford to waste it), then dont get a full repsray. instead go to a reputable panel beater/spray shop and get them to just spray the body kit and colour code it properly. if they properly colour code it, then you wont notice the difference between the factory colour and the bodykit colour

expect to pay around the $1000 mark to do the whole body kit

I'll put up with red if it's gonna save me a few grand, I'll get someone to spray the body kit parts for me only.

Have a look at this from J racing

    http://www.jracing.com.au/product.php?pid=21

II think you would be hard pressed to respray a whole car for around the $400 mark

    To give you an idea

it cost me $600 to have a rear skirt modified sprayed and fitted to my car. Also sprayed and fitted c one grill , door handles and the rear bumper as well as rear boot garnish, also fitted was a c one front tower bar.

That's mad! might be just slightly the top for me though :P

Are body kits easy to install yourself? I know it would probably vary, but I've got work mates who could help out with time, but not really expertise.

Are there may good places I could look online for corolla grille's and body kits?

  10. With the respray are you just looking at spraying the kit or the whole car.

If it is a whole car you could be looking around $5000 including the bodykit..

For body kits keep a look out in the for sale section.

Then there are places like talon etc that do bodykits.

there is always toyota but can cost a fortune. for example a rear skirt for a corolla wagon cost $480 a few months. back.

Others will be able to help in this.

I'd be looking to respray the whole car with the kit on it. The body kit I'm looking at is around AU$750 for both the side skirts and the front bumper (see the url in my first post) thats a Talon kit. The only reason I don't want that kit exactly is because it has no rear bumper, and looks odd. Are you talking about a custom kit?

Would the spray be the bulk of the price, or the kit? I have the "Velocity" red and I'd leave it at that if a spray was any more than $400 or $500.

  11. Hi guys, first off I'll take some high res shots of my car tomorrow to add in to this thread, but I need your help yet again TOCAU!

I am looking at getting a body kit (side skirts, front bumper and rear bumper) for my 2005 ZZE122R Ascent Hatch. I'm also looking to get it resprayed from Red to Black, my budget is max $1,250 I know that's not a lot, but I'm sure I could find some way to make things work.

I've been looking at the NVS body kit (http://www.carlights.com.au/catalogue/toyc01/index.htm) but it doesn't have any rear bumper, and I feel it needs to have a rear bumper or else it ruins the whole look. Does anyone have pics of their corolla with a good body kit? And if so, how much / what is your body kit?

What types of places do resprays?

Thanks guys! I'll post pics of my rolla tomorrow. I have a stock corolla rear spoiler already, I want to give my corola a bit of street cred :P

    Cheers guys!

  12. better hope u still got your sony instructions with wiring diagram so you know what cable is what. download the owners manual for your car and find the wires for your radio so you know where to hook it up. ummm good luck, if your going to solder put an old towel under it so u dont drop any solder lol.. umm good luck and dont stuff your electrical system?? dw its pretty easy...

Yeah still got all the guide books and stuff. Do I need to solder, or can I just get a wiring harness? I'd rather leave the car in a good condition (including wiring) for if incase I sell it.

  13. Hi guys, this is my first post here, so .. hi!

A few months ago I purchased a 2005 Toyota Corolla, the existing radio in it is very bad at playing CD's. It just doesn't seem to be able to read 99% of the discs I put in, or one song it can read fine, the next it cant. Anyway, I have pulled my Sony Xplod CDX-GT570 out of my old 89 Camry and I want to put it in to my new car.

I haven't changed a radio head unit before, I got the guys from Strathfield to do it in my old camry, and I am a bit scared of breaking anything. I also have a nokia hands free kit (see pic attached, small round thing to the right of the time display). I want the hands free kit to still work when I hook the head unit in.

I'm also looking to get one of these a toyota corolla double to single din converter (http://www.dnaaudio.com.au/blowout_pages.html/toy_k960.html) for around $50 from autobarn.

So, does anyone have any advice or links to changing this thing?

    Cheers!
