If I were to slap in a set of trd pistons, will there be a power increase and will it be worth the cost of these pistons?

Is it advisable?

Has it been done to any Stivo's?

that's a really bad choice in clutch plate. It's bad enough being a 4-puck, but it's also got a solid center!

No good for the gearbox at all.

Get the ECU hooked up to a diags scanner, the problem you're describing sounds electrical.

why do you say its a bad clutch mate...its what came out of the car with the exception that the linings were changed for buttons....

Was this the wrong way to go as I felt that with the power the 2zzge has, better to put a button than a lined clutch...

Hi Guys,

Need you help!!!

Was having problems lately with my gear changes and decided to get the clutch changed. The clutch shop where I live recommended that the old one be removed and coverted into a button clutch. This was agreed apon and the flywheel was reface skimmed and balanced at the same time.

Got the car back on Friday and the gear changes are better than a Golf V GTI's.

Now heres the problem:

The car holds back on power from 7300rpm until cut off. Cars power is fine, only hassle I am having now is the higher rev range stalling so to say. They had to pull the airfilter box and pipes in order to get to the g box. Had a look at the piping and they all seem to be fine....

Has any had a problem like this and is there anything I can do to sort this put...

Oh, and I think it's the 'stage 1 - organic' clutch you'll need to get from them, the 'stage 2' is the brass button one.

Ok mate, clutch and flywheel ordered. Should be here early next week.

Has anyone seen a short shifter on ebay that will work on our cars...

as far as the TOM'S flywheel goes, they no longer makes them :(

I was looking for one about 6 months ago.

Over there they call the Exedy HD clutch the Exedy Stage 2 clutch (too much Gran Tourismo if you ask me :P ) so do a search for that, or ask the trader the price if you replace the clutch kit with that one. They will know what you are talking about.

dude i dont think you'll be able to find all that on ebay to be honest with you...prob the only things you would be able to find are the Strut brace but thats about it i reckon...you can also find a bodykit for your corolla and also grill and eye lids....but i think that would be the only thing avialable.....

before anyone starts looking to buy one of these .... let me give u a word of advise ..... invest in ur internals and re-enforce them for F/I before chucking a kit like this on ..... as it could be a very costly exercise if something gives way .....

well there you go 190kw fly! dont knw what chip he was running but he had an extra 20kw atw on the dyno

and this was done at Chip logic in joburg.they deal with opel,vw,audi,porshe,bmw etc

Know the guy mate. His name is OB. He started of with Class Auto Tuning in pmb and then moved up to Kayalami in JHB. Still has the Pmb branch which is run by his brother. Heard the dastech does not do much to a XRSI (stivo). From what I have read, it will be better to put in a Greddy Ultima!!!

I have a mate in south africa who has a gTI hes got a chip in it and just the chip gave him and extra 20kw!

well the GTI 4 has 132kw! with more torque than the RSI aka sportivo. You have to get him on launch and shift in your torque range and you should nail him! the GTI is heavy too! Remember the RSIs power comes in from 5500 to red line! and GTI low end torque&power!

Look like its goning to be fun race mate lol... will see what happens...

Manual mate, wont take a dsg on as it will crusify the X on take off due to the vehicles launch feature..
