  1. changing the shocks to a TRD or to sports aftermarket one to say at least should be better in the long run against wear and tear, as leaving it, the King springs will put alot more shock onto the stock dampers since they would be stiffer and most likely not used to the punishment and hence more prone to leaks sooner etc.

Very Correct, fitting a lowed spring to a set of shock that a even a few months old will spped up the rate in which the seal in the shocks start to leak, plus to TRD spring/shock combo are valved and made to work in sync with each other.

    *End Rant*

if $450 is for TRD springs(4 in total), i wont even consider and just buy it. still, $450 a pair or for 2 pairs? Where did you get the quote from? Wont the toyota asked for your Vin number to buy TRD aurion's parts?

Nah $450 for all 4 springs, a mate whop works at a TRD dealer gave me the quote! :whistling:

  2. Sorry guys my Bad, i read the quote wrong...

its actually to $1100 for the shocks, and $450 for springs.!

    Again sorry guys,

Your car still looks HAWT Davo ! lol :toast:

:D lol ... I know ... Gota ask? Why would you be wanting to change the struts/shocks? No need to m8 .. an unnecessary expense I believe !

    Oh i agree !

Im going to enquire bout some King or pedders springs during the week.!

  3. Ive made some Enquires, The TRD springs and Shocks can be ordered, costs bout $500 all up and would bring the car down to bout same as davos height. Which is awesome!!

springs AND shocks for $500? i think you are just talking about springs right? even if $500 for TRD springs? still doesnt make sense.. too cheap?

That does seem a little cheap ... especially considering most OEM parts are priced outa the market. Sure you got that right EVL?

Sorry guys my Bad, i read the quote wrong...

  4. Also, in my experience, if you have automatic transmission, you can check the transmission oil status with the checker(?) under hood. I don't know what it is called but it's pretty same as engin oil checker. However, I couldn't find the transmission oil checker under hood. I've been to garage for engine oil replacement and ask the mechanic guy to find the transmission oil checker but he couldn't find it too. :(

Maybe someone could help me to figure out the name of it.

Do u mean transmission oil, then this is some thing you can not check.

    oh yeah transmission oil checker.

    sorry about my typo. :P

So Aurion has different automatic transmission system?

or I just do not need to check the status of the trasmission oil?

:P such technical names guys..Its called a transmission oil level dipstick.

And yes i couldnt find the dipstick on my ZR6 either, i will hav a better look tomorrow.when the sun? is shining!

  5. On a FWD, thats crazy, Toyota even advised they could push the TRD more but they said you couldnt drive it.. apparently the TRD Aurion is alraedy on the verge of discomfort, correct me if its wrong Secaboy that from your experience flooring it from 0, would already be pulling at your arm a bit.

Do you happen to have a link to where Toyota have said this,?

id love to have a read of it ,

220 fwkws aint as bad as you would think, My GT2 is quite controllable, wet the road and its a very different story, but i understand what your sayin, the TRD has plenty of poke for what it is ,!

Looking to trade my ZR6 very soon for one! :yahoo:

  6. I think you might be talking about the clunk noise we all get from the right hand side of the car after taking off. This is a common problem and is apparantly something to do with the ABS or something? Some others have mentioned that this issue is mentioned in the vehicle handbook.

Yeah i get that exact noise myself.

I think it comes from the ABS box thingo, where all the brake lines come out from.!

  7. I have heard from a guy who works at my local toyota that they played around with a TRD Aurions wastegate style actuator, got it to run 13 psi, instead of the stock 7psi, and it screamed!!

Maybe find out if this is true, i know that conrtol the boost that way , maybe if u fitted a bleed valve .. it could be possible.?

  8. Maybe you could add a TRD supercharger, i got a quote from the good people at my local dealer, trade price for the supercharger alone was $8900, then another $300 odd for the belt, and the mounting brackets,

Still dont know what the ECU would be worth but, im waitin to see one in a wreckers,i guess most people are.!

How u doing M8 ... I'm still in orr with this damn car ... so ... well .. just nice. Numerous comments on head turns on the car ... which I must admit I just love ... lol The wheels are B.Boss 19x8 Silvia's take a look at his site ... got a few nice contenders there. http://bbosswheels.com/

Oh i know what u mean Davo,i also hav a Celica with 220fwkws, and as nice as that is to drive the Aurion is just so much more better, plus the gold colour is just awesome....Ive had nothing but great comments..!

However, i am looking at a set of TRD Aurion rims, springs and shocks, to set mine off nicely.

  12. I went down the south coast (from sydney) over the long weekend. Drove from sydney down to Ulladulla (about 200kms) there was some nice open road driving and some bumper to bumper traffic (as this was the long weekend). While away I drove a few times into town and little trips here and there. Drove back amongst the same conditions I drove down in (traffic + open road). My average is now 10.4L/100kms which is after the trip and driving to work this morning.

Both the trip down and back, the car boot was full of gear along with the half the back seat. I think 10.4 is a good average, without the load or the traffic it would have gotten better. I normally average 10 - 10.5 just driving to/from work and around on weekends.

As for Aurion/Falcon/Commodore, the toyota has the most cutting edge technology in terms of engine/drive train. The are a great car to drive in comparison, my father has a new falcon and it's a bit boring and 'just a falcon'. I drove the new SV6 before I bougth the SX6 and while the SV6 looks great on the outside the ride is very rough and noisy compared to the Aurion. Also there is alot of engine feel through the cabin + steering in the SV6 and the demo car had rattles throughout the car. The dealer was holding the dash while I drove the near new SV6 to show my what it would be like when I got one . . . until it started rattling itself.

I am completely satisfied with the SX6, ZR6 would be even better and you get some very intertested looks from people you pass by as they look great . . . Hope you buy one EVL-184 . . see you around the forum soon . . .

Thanks mate , any one else wish to share there fuel ecomony stories.?
