  1. I hate how the warning light comes on so early and also the way Toyota gauges (in general, many models) drop quickly in the first half and then seem to sit on empty forever!

You'll find most cars on the road have guages like that. The gauge goes down to half fairly slowly, drops to empty much quicker than the first half and then sits on empty even with 10 litres of fuel left in it. When i first got my lanecr the fuel light would come on when i had 22 litres of fuel left in the tank. Over time the empty light became more and more acurate untill it seemed to settle at 8-9 lites in the tank being the time to warn me.

  2. Please set this date aside for a bit of cruising action. Meeting at Windsor, heading up the very twisty and very scenic Bells Line of Road to Bell then south along the Darling Causeway to Mt Victoria and out to Mt York. From Mt York, we'll head down the Great Western Highway to Blackheath and then down thru some fine twisties into the Megalong Valley where we can have a BBQ lunch. After lunch we'll head out of the valley and then down the mountains via the GWH, detouring along cliff drive thru Leura & Katoomba. Should be a fine day and i hope to see you there

Event date: Saturday, 24th of April

Meeting spot: Hungry Jacks on Windsor Rd, McGraths Hill

Depature time: Meet between 9-9:30am for a 10:00am departure.

Cruise destination: Bells line of Road, Mt York, Megalong Valley & the upper Blue Mountains

Please bring food & utensils for a BBQ, a jumper as the mtns are a bit cooler than Sydney, UHF radios and a full tank of fuel. Optimax available on Windsor Rd 1-2km back towards Parramatta, Synergy 8000 also available nearby. ALL WELCOME

  3. I dropped from 6th to 2nd and yeah, floored it all the way

I take it you've got the cash ready and waiting for your new clutch then

The 2ZZ motors sound like awesome fun up top, i'd love to put one in an AE82 and see how they'd fare against a 20v.

  4. dakota when i said computer i was talking about the car's computer. i know it records electronic faults but a few people have thought it could record and store a history of speeds and rev peaks.

i understand there is a national database. i also understand that access to it in the past was fairly easy but now toyota has greatly restricted access by employees.

but who performance modifies their car and has it serviced with the dealer? under warranty or not!

The sportivo's ECU cannot record speeds are revs. Many large commercial trucks are fitted with tachographs and the like to prevent drivers from trashing them, but i'm unaware of any passenger vehicles(in AUS anyhow) having such a device fitted.

  5. 4. Drove against an evo and wrx even though i didnt win (only lost but not even half a car length), both drivers got to the next set of lights and commented on the amount of power the car was pumping out.

Dude, no way a "stivo" is gunna stay that close to a wrx or an evo. They either weren't racing, were toying with you or were complete retards who couldn't drive

  6. Sweet ride, got a real sleeper look  Man, love to have a drag with your 4AGZE :P

    I wouldn't mind having a run against you too Greyw.... , i means GZE_Bandit :)

Found my tyre pressures way down tonight at 30psi front, 28psi rear. Pumped them up to 36 front, 35 rear and the car goes so much faster. The gears pulled so much harder and it revved up towards the redline much quicker and freely. It's nights like 2nite that remind me why i love my car :D

  7. Yup, I remember that. I've been a Liverpool fans since John Barnes and Ian Rush days. What about you OneCamMan?

Yeah, i've been a Liverpool fan since i was a little kid. I went to Anfield in December 2001 to watch them play Ar5enal, but unfortunately they lost 2-1 :(

Edit - This language filter/blocker is so stupid. I can't even type the name a freaking football club

  8. Thanks mate. It's a picture of Liverpool footballers Robbie Fowler and Steve McMannaman taken in 1996(?). Robbie Fowler had been accussed of using cocaine, so after scoring a goal at Everton(the local rival club), he proceeded to taunt the Everton fans by snorting the touch line

  9. I'd be very, very inclined to ring them up in the morning and add the 24mm front sway bar to your order. I'm not sure of the size/quality of the Sportivo's standard front bar, but the whiteline front sway bars make a huge difference in handling to other model Rolla's, so i'm sure your model would be no exception. Go the front sway bar dude, you won't regret it :)

  10. For an almost $40k turbocharged 1.8, the AE112 Sportivo has very a low performance level. It's basically just a stock 7A-FE motor with a small turbo setup and a FMIC. For a few grand more, a WRX or 200SX would have been a much better purchase.

I'm lead to believe that they do a mid 15 second quarter mile which is around half a second quicker than the ZZE122 Sportivo, but still fairly slow in comparison to other factory 4 cyl turbos :(

  11. I put Mobil Synth S 10w-40, and repco oil filter. The oil is semi synthetic and cost around $30 dollars, filter was $15. I figured since im gona change the oil every 5000k's it would be pointless to spend $70 on fully synthetic oil.

Dude, if i had a 2ZZ under my bonnet i'd definately be using Mobil one after the motor was run in. The 2ZZ is a very higly stressed motor with narrow clearances, making it perfect for a fully synth oil. You've bought a nice new car, why not give it the best so that it can give you it's best. Don't skimp on fuels, fluids, etc.

  12. Just wanna get an idea on how many K's should the rolla do on a full tank?

How many k's does ur car do on a full tank?

    What model rolla are we talking about??? KE20, KE55, AE71, AE102, ZZE122?

In my blown AE82, i get around 400-450km from a 40l tank, that's city/country mix with a bit of spirited driving thrown in. I've never done a purely highway run, but i'd imagine i'd get a tad over 500kms.
