  1. has toyota acknowledged there is a problem with pulling to left, and are they fixing it?

they had a go at fixing mine but problem still there.

I think after all this time... my answer in the FAQ is still valid:

    Q) My Aurion pulls to the left even after a wheel alignment. Is there something wrong?

    A)
There is a known issue that the Aurion will have a tendency to pull to the left on a perfectly flat road, and not due to the camber in the road itself. The issue is caused by the suspension castor not being correct. There is a solution however, and that is Super Pro Polyurethane Offset bushes. These are available from Fulcrum suspension under the part name SPF2904K. Toyota does not acknowledge the issue, but if you pursue them enough, they MAY change it for you under warranty.

    Threads of interest:

They will usually try to say to you that they will jsut have to do a wheel alignment and that would fix it etc, etc. This however never really seems to fix it properly. If it is persued with them for a while, they may fit the part specified above, but it usually takes a bit of effort to get them to do it.

I am not sure if this helps, but took my new Presara for an alignment at a mates workshop, he said that my L/H side camber is out, he tried adjusting it but told me that in about 6 months when everything settles in ill need a camber kit or if go for 19" and camber kit is a must.............. Spoke to Toyota and the response was "see how your tyres wheel wear"

  2. Rattles in B pillar

actually I was going to ask on here about that but didn't want to start a thread

I would describe the dash as squeaks and this B pillar noise as rattle

I get the dash squeak only over sharp bumps and road joints

the b pillar rattle I get it on certain uneven surfaces and then it kind of becomes harmonic and keeps going in response to a wider range of surfaces

the dash rattle is much less noticeable after this appeared lol

it sounds like its coming from somewhere on the b pillar near the seat belt mount

but of course that may not be the source but merely a release point of the noise

I have been to Toyota 3 times, noise from drivers side B pillar is gone, all they did was strip the pillar and re-positioned all the wires and plugs in the Pillar. After the first visit to the dealer ship, i stripped the covers myslef, and could not find anything that would rattle, it was one of those annoying sounds that was coming and going all the time.

If the car is under warranty just take it back and ask them to strip it and re secure the wirring that is in the pillar, worked for my Presara.

    Good luck

  3. Well, got my car back today, so far so good, re tuned re fitted and my list is smaller,

Spoke with the senior mechanic at the dealer ship, and he said to me the same thing some one said on this website.

If you have issues with your car it must be built in Austrlia.

Guys dont get me wrong I have always appreciated Toyotas, but the finish on the Aurion is letting them down.

Great car, great concept but the idiots in Altona are to busy on union strikes.

Hopefully i will not need to pay anymore visits to the dealer ship for warranty claims.

PS some new model toyotas are having memory problems with sunroof buttons if you roof is doing crazy **** go to the dealer.

  4. I know the feeling I have had the Pressara for 2 months now its done 6500klm. Today it was dropped of at toyota for a warranty claims. Here is my list

    Rattles in B pillar

    Rattels in L/H side Dash

    Rattles in Mirror

Sunroof Memeory function loses - re-opens from tilt position when closing

Cracking on ABS sensor hosing L/H/F

    Leaking sunroof

Crackling noise from sunroof when closed

Rattles from Rear parcel shelf (been fixed a month ago missing weld service "re gapped it")

    Knocking L/H/F suspention

Front window L/H and R/H side not sitting properly

    Wheel Camber out R/H Front.

Toyota Link system constantly in fault mode

Just a start of what was given to the service manager today, they have my car for 3 days......

I love the way the car drives, but I think this was my first and last Aurion, I had a choice of G6E Turbo or the Presara, I know in 3 years ill be going to ford

  5. Hey all,

After reading yor posts, i am not looking forward to tommorow, got the sept 09 Pressara, Toyotalink is not working properly, sunroof rattels when driving, some times when i shut the roof from a tilted position it opens back up, cracked hoses on the R/h/front abs sensor cable, rattels in the dash, squeeks in the centre console.

And to top everything of on the both front doors the seal is folding out on the front corner next to the mirror.

I wonder if anything will get done ??? starting to get sh!tty as you can imagine the pressara does not come cheap!

  6. Hey all thought i would add my 2cents. . . . . . .

Had a bonnet protector on my last car ...............never again..... when i was selling the car and took the protector of had no chips on the nose but the rest of the bonnet looked liked it went through a war......

had to get it re sprayed because it looked stupid......the guy at the panel shop said if it was spread evenly they could of just touched it up and then buffed it.

I have had my car for 3 weeks now and the first chip i got was smack bang in the middle of the bonnet.

nothing would of helped, apart from not driving behind a holden :(

  7. Try tighening all the bolts on the doors, I had the same kind of rattle, ended up being loose bolts for the door lock assy...

Thanks for the info, did that today, stripped the door trims checked all nuts and bolts, took it for a test drive and still their....

GRRRRRRRRRRRR toyota better find what it is, starting to reall work me up...

mATE, i HAD A SIMILAR RATTLE, BUT SILLY ME, IT WAS AS ACTUALLY THE SEAT BELT CATCH THINGO TAPPING EVERY NOW AN THEN AGAINST THE PILLAR. DOSE IT HAPPEN WHEN YOU'VE GOT A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER OR TRAVELLING ALONE ???

Happens every time i dont have a service tech in the car from toyota, held the seat belt while driving applied pressure to the window, applied pressure to the seat belt.......

Been to toyota three times, two our three techs have herd the noise, but the main wants me to bring the car in, he is going to be doing it himself, as he is intrugued

the rattle is coming from the drivers side B piller so the seat belt is plugged inn, and it right in your ear........ hoping to have it sorted next week................

  8. Try tighening all the bolts on the doors, I had the same kind of rattle, ended up being loose bolts for the door lock assy...

  9. could be the spring in the latch which enables you to adjust the height of the seatbelt.

without looking at it... you could unclip the spring, and put another twist in the coil. could make it firmer, reducing the rattle.

I have put some thick grease on it, I know messy............ but still rattles and what makes things worse it not consistent, some times a straigh road and it starts to rattle some times start getting bumbs and no rattle.........driving me nuts

  10. Hey All,

Just got a new presara SEPT 09 only done 1500km's sent the car back to the dealer ship because of rattles in the rear and in the L/H Side B Piller (where the drivers seatbelt is)

They Found that in the rear their was a spot weld missing in the parcel shelf so they regapped it, all good.

But they could not find what was the Rattle in the B piller, I have taken it apart myself and still have not had luck in locating the slight spring type of Rattle.

Does any one have any ideas on what it might be ???? please help as I cant stand rattles

    Thanks heaps in advance...
