ummmm DreadAngel, that actually sounds like it could be my problem! Shifting is slowly becoming more and more difficult. I get stuck trying to get into 1st, especially when just sitting at the lights. Is this an expensive problem to fix? haha

btw, yes it is manual

it's had it since i test drove it, but I've been having a good think about it and it can't be healthy. Every time I accelerate from 1st gear through to 4th the engine/trans/drive whines almost like a super charger. Any idea what this could be?

The car drives completely fine other than that. Should I be worried??

thanks mate. the paint is in pretty damn good condition except for the minor paint chips on the hood and front bumper from being 10 years old.

I'm after a few interior upgrades. Nothing drastic, but just little things.

I'm after the following:

- new pedals (preferablly carbon fiber)

- new shift knob (once again, carbon fiber)

- an Indiglo speedo face

Any idea where I can get these? Also, what are the sizes for the shifter and pedals? Sorry, I know **** all about the Celica haha

Planning on throwing some 18" Volks on her and an Indiglo dash at some point, aswell as a new shift knob. Any recommendations?

3SGTE is the engine your thinking of... 180k on the celica depends what sort of km's they are , if it's had a hard life it may not be as tight or honest as an example thats been treated well...

yeah i believe it's been treated pretty well. picked it up from Subaru Glen Waverley last monday. Got a great deal on it. Completely stock, but so far I've installed a head unit into the car.

I'm looking to install a custom dash face, just like this one:

but i can't seem to find any anywhere!! Can anyone send me in the right direction?

thanks guys! yeah i know there's no way a 2jz could fit in the celica :P i guess i was just dreaming that day.

I've got a few plans with this.

- remove all badges from rear except SX-R

- tint tail lights

- 17 or 18" wheels

- full pioneer sound system

- shift knob

- carbon fiber foot pedals

- paint the dash silver or apply carbon fibre to it

Apart from that, I'm not going to do anything. The car is completely stock so far.

Is there anything I should be looking out for on a 180,000+k car? How many K's does all your Celica's have??

The names Dylan and I'm usually found on the SupraForums.com.au but i thought i'd come here to have a chat with you all!

I just recently bought myself a '98 ST204R Celica SX-R with 183,000k's on the clock, manual for $7300. Loving it.

I wanted to come on here to make the most out of my celica for the time I have it. I would like to rebuild the 5S engine at some point, either drop in a 2jzge or just rebuild it as the k's are getting high. What are your views on this? I don't have to much knowledge of the Celica, only the supra haha.

I have plans on purchasing myself a lovely SZ-R Supra or a RZ Supra in the near by future.
