Tonight as I was coming home....at the train station car park (mooroolbark, vic), I saw this AMAZING aurion it was the 2011 model....but it looked like the TRD, it was like a combo of 1st gen and 2nd gen, and had an amazing paint job. I've seen quiet a few aurions this is by far one of the top looking and VERY unique.......the plate on it was "DIRAE" so if anyone has seen it or the owner is on the forum, it would be great to know. :)

ok then, so what do you guys think about as to the darkness of the tint, coz i read somewhere else that you could get away with 20% on the aurion, what do you guys think?
-
ok thanks for the replies guys. I'm thinking about getting an "octane" tint from tint-a-car, its meant to be a 3 layer film and its about $365. The guy said he'd do 35% on the front doors and 20% on the back doors and rear window.

I have an '08 aurion sx-6 and I'm looking at getting the windows tinted, I read up somewhere that some tinting film can interfere with the radio antenna, when they are inside the window, as the are in aurions. Can anyone please shed some light on this topic.
Thanks a lot :)

hey stuart,
I know i'm a new user but right now I'm in a sh!t battle with these guys to get my money back.
I bought 7" TFT non motorised screen + x2 9" TFT headrest monitors + reverse camera.
The background:
I drive my is200 on weekends only so I wasn't after a unit that will play all day everyday but just something I can play for 12hours at most a week. Well anyway, I found those guys and yes their price was extremely competitive.
BUT...
After installing the headunit cooked within minutes... I think ohh fu(k, I hooked it up wrong but no, it was all fine with no wiring problems. This as a side effect caused one of the headrests to turn off after minutes of playing.
So I ranted this to them and sent it back express post (costly) and they acknowledged it was a defective headunit but the headrest monitor was fine. I didn't beleive them at first so I asked for proof on the headrest working, and sure enough it was working. So a replacement headunit was sent to me and the original headrest.
I installed the headunit and headrest again. The headrest monitor began playing up immediatly after I got it but it had improved a little bit it instead turned off after playing for 30mins or so. The headunit worked for a month (keep in mind this car is only used on the weekend) and surprise surprise it did the same thing again! but this time it began smoking up more then a blues festival which nearly caused me to crash.
I took it to a qualified tech I knew to confirm I had no dodgy wiring and he confirmed it was all correct.
so yet again after being asked by their lame techs to check if the power is plugged in etc (Think of an indian helpdesk) I'm sending these units back but this time a good 2months go by before I get the head rest back in the mail. I email their helpdesk and ask them abotu it and they have no idea.. I plug the headrest in to test and guess what? it did the same again! I told them I want a replacement but they say their warranty can only repair it as it's been past 7days! I pointed out to them it never worked right from day1 but I now got the cold shoulder.
After a few arguments over warranty periods being expired now and they can't help me while I'm pointing out their product sucked from the word go they finally say "send it back and we'll refund you".. I send it back...
Now they're saying they can't give a refund but 50% my next purchase!! WTF I told them why the hell should I buy their gear if that's how I get treated and their products dont work as specified!
So now I'm outta pocket almost $600 + postage charges and am trying to get my money back.
I'm just about to take it to the next level but for now I should spread the word before more suckers fall for their crap.
Hey,i would just like to know, how did u do the wiring for the headrest monitors?
thanks

I have got my new head unit today there are 3 loose cables coming from the harness of the head unit, a pink one says "reverse" where do i connect this???
There is a Blue with White stripe that says "P.CNTR" which i'm guessing is for an amp. And there is a red and green stripe one saying "ILL - PWN" which i have no idea what it could be.
THANKS
Pink - To reverse light power. Short of running a wire all the way to the rear of the vehicle, I'm sure someone here might be able to help you located one around the dash.
Blue/white - Yep, it's for turning external amplifiers on.
Red/Green - For connecting to your interior illumination circuit so the headunit will dim at night when your headlights are on.
Do you know where i could find the wire/s to the interior illumination circuit??

Sorry DJKOR i really needed a reply fast. What about the red wire with green stripe, is it for the park lights?

Sportivo throttle response
in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Posted
I've recently started driving my parent's '08 SX6, my daily is a 92 Honda Prelude VTEC, which has a throttle cable compared to the Aurion with "drive-by-wire." I've noticed that the throttle in the car is very laggy. Does this happen with all Aurions, when I put it into "tip-troninc" mode, the response is increased slightly, but still not like my Prelude. I thought the point of electronic throttle was to be quicker than the traditional "direct throttle cables"
Is it just me or do others feel this too??
