  1. Hey peeps, just wondering if there is someone out in SA in the ingle farm area who would be willing to come to mine or i come to yours. I want to trial fit some 18's I have got to a 2009+ corolla. if they fit i will keep them, if not I will get rid of them.

    Sizes as follows

    PCD 114.3

    18x8.5 +31

    18x9.5 +45

I have done some searching and they should fit but not sure how much they will scrub guards or stick out too far so I'd like to have someone trial fit them so I can know whether or not to keep them.

    Dean.

I'm in Ingle farm but would be willing to travel as far as Willunga/McLaren Vale area.

  2. For that about of money your willing to spend.. turbocharging or supercharging the 2ZR-FE will get you better results. Even if you stay N/A, just do more engine work; bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, aftermarket ECU, headers, full exhaust etc. These are cheaper mods than swapping any engine and will still give you good gains.

Cheers peeps. Since posting I have had a better think about the project and if i could get a blade that would be good but I've only seen auto's for sale. I'm def getting a 2010/2011 levin with full TRD sus pack and all options as my daily and will either supercharge or turbo. Just not sure yet as I can't find an off the shelf kit yet (browsed the CAPA site the other day) and I'm not in a rush cos i don't wanna void the warranty so I got plenty of time to collect parts :P

Thanks again, appreciate the constructive criticism too. one thing i've noticed thats different on this forum to the others is that ppl don't just yell and scream at ya and tell ya that you suck. lol

  3. Toyota somehow fell behind when it came to engines in the corolla as its only available with a 1.8 when every other hatch on the market is a 2.0l or a turbo 1.6/1.8.

I plan on rectifying that with a (hopefully) 3zrfe engine.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm ordering the car end of this year but wanna get the engine sorted so that when it arrives it can be swapped out straight away, no fuss etc. Was thinking of buying a new engine out of a 2010 Ultima (sedan) but haven't contacted toyota to get a price yet.

  4. Howdy fellow toyo lovers.

My names Dean I'm 29 and I live in SA. I currently own 2 supras and a hiace. Just recently started looking at new cars and what better than a 2010 Levin ZR fully optioned. Just gotta sell the van and one of my cars to get the cash.

Have already read a few posts and it sounds like the corolla is a perfect choice for a daily for me :)

Hope to meet you all on a cruise sometime.

    Dean.

PS My gf owns a 2007 Yaris YRX.

  5. Hey toyota lovers alike, whats happening!?!?

Just bought myself a 1985 Toyota Hiace Van :) totally love it. was a painters so needs a fair bit of tidying up but needless to say I got it cheap so was way worth it.

Its got twin square/rectangle headlights and a tuff looking bullbar (which is only legal if fitted to this model I've been told)

Already got a set of 17x8 +32 front and 17x9 +32 rear WORK VS-MX rims with 255/45/17 rubber all round, looks sweet. Just trying to find the engine number and wondering about the rear drivers wheel as it wobbles when driving (not much to feel it, but I bent the mirror down and could see it) hoping its not a bent axle and just a worn bearing, but will find out in the next couple weeks!

It came with telstra/rhino roof racks/ladder racks and since I won't be needing them I'm gonna sell them. Any ideas what they're worth?? I've been told about $200-$250 but not sure.let me know what you think!

Anyway, I'm off to go engine number hunting cos I can't register without it!!!

    Dean.
